Seven: Memory of You

Elsa

"Here,", Rapunzel handed me a thin portfolio and a few printed images of character designs. "You might wanna know more about what this company is all about... so do have some time to read that."

"Thanks, Rapunzel.", I smiled meekly and took a look at the portfolio.

"The Art of Frozen", I read out loud.

Memories came flashing back like an arrow.

"Mommy!", I hugged Mom when she got back home. "Why did you come home late?"

"Sorry, darling.", the memory of the sound of her sweet voice came rushing into my ears. She held up a blue paper bag, "But I got you this."

I gladly took the paper bag, "Yay! Goodie!"

I pulled out a box, which revealed an Elsa Doll... Not just any Elsa doll, but the limited edition one. Back then, I didn't understand what it really meant... but I loved the doll nonetheless.

"Here's one for Ann too", she said.

"Annie!", I called my sister. "Mom has an Anna doll for you!"

Annie came rushing down the stairs... like what any five year old girl would do on her right mind, "Gimme Anna!"

I handed her the box, which she hugged with all her heart.

It made Mom and I smile as we watched Annie play with her doll.

Audrey waved her hand in front of me, "Are you okay, Elsa?"

I blinked, "Yeah. I'm okay."

"I thought you were having a playback of your own life story back there.", she giggled.

I shrugged, "I guess I was."

"Yes! I was right!", she raised a fist in the air. She turned to Once-ler, "Told ya I was right!"

"Yeah, yeah, okay Audrey.", he said and rolled his eyes.

"Was I daydreaming for that long?", I asked the both of them.

Once-ler said, "I guess for about a minute and a half."

"Seventy seconds to be exact!", a girl with brunette hair and rainbow tips said. She popped out of Audrey's cubicle.

"Oh, I'm Thia.", she went out of the cubicle and raised her hand. "That's short for Thiana... and I hate my name, so I shortened it out."

"Oh, but Thiana is quite pretty.", I commented.

"Yeaaah... no.", she giggled. Her name was pretty indeed, but her face was far prettier.

Her dark chocolate hair waved down her chest, and the rainbow tips were really pretty. Her eyes were the rare shade of blue, the deep violet ones... like Elizabeth Taylor's. Her smile was really heartwarming, and I could tell... if this girl was a fantasy character, she would most likely be the fairy for kids.

"I'm Elsa.", I took her hand and shook it gently.

"I already know.", she laughed. "The minute I saw you enter the building I was like patching the entire Facebook database for your name."

"Thia's a computer genius.", Once-ler explained. "She knows everything about computers. From Codes and Hacking to Repairs and Rebooting."

"Cool. So are you like the IT here?", I asked Thia.

She giggled, "No silly! I'm one of the people who handle the color of the movie. But, I do fix some computer problems from time to time."

That was some girl she is.

Jack

I peered over at the new girl behind the glass dividers of my office... keeping half of my face on the translucent matte part, and the other half on the clear visible glass.

She was full of smiles as she talked to Once-ler, Thia and Audrey. Her almost white hair stood out the most though... It made her bright smiles more glow.

"Hey...", Rapunzel entered the room. "You okay? Anything wrong?"

"Nothing...", I said and continued my "spy" on the new girl.

"Trust me.", Rapunzel said. "Elsa's going to be the best designer ever."

"No, not about that.", I said.

She raised an eyebrow. "About what then?"

"She reminds me of someone.", I looked down. "She reminds me of Erin."

"Come on, Jackson Frost!", Erin pulled me into Tiffany's.

Tiffany's was a simple washed-out 80's diner near the school. Nobody went there anymore, but Erin loved it nonetheless.

Even though she was used to uptown and classy things, she loved and enjoyed the downtown world.

"What will you two lovebirds be having for today?", Colin, the diner's owner, cooed in a cool Jazzy voice.

"Grilled Brie Sandwich please.", she said. "How about you, Jack?"

"I think I'll just have the bacon cheese burger.", I said.

"Comin' right up.", Colin chuckled. We may seem to be the only customers visiting his diner, but he was still as lively as before.

Erin always ordered everything with Brie... she loved the cheese, she loved the sound of its name. I remember her telling me if she ever had a daughter, or if she ever changed her name, she would love to have 'Brie' at the end of it.

"Weeee", Erin squealed as she rotated herself on the diner counter's chair. I smiled and hopped on the chair beside her and started spinning myself along with her.

Those were one of the best days of our life... our short life together...

"That's quite weird...", Rapunzel said. "I don't see anything Erin-related in her."

"Well, I do.", I replied. "And I wanna know why."

"Come on, Jack.", Rapunzel argued. "Please don't tell me that you think she's Erin... please."

"What if I do?"

Rapunzel shook her head, "Give up, already. Erin is dead."

"I just can't,", I sat down on my seat. "I can't give up on her. I don't want to give up on her."

Rapunzel exited my office with a sad expression.

"Stay with me forever", she said. "Stay with me always."

"I'll stay with you, Erin... Forever and always."

And I will not give up on that promise.

And I know she wouldn't.

I looked back at Elsa who went back to work on her cubicle, after a long chat with the Design team...

She would never give up on her promise.

Now spring has brought the rain,
But I still see your face.
And I cannot escape the past
Creeping up inside

Reminding that I

Can never bring you back
