And what do you do
When the one who means the most to you
Was the one who didn't show...
Nineteen: The Moment I Knew
Jack
Halfway through the road trip, the crew died down, until Rapunzel and I were the only ones awake. Elsa was snuggling on my chest, and her mint-scented hair rested on my chin.
Rapunzel yawned, "Still not sleeping, Jack?"
I shook my head, "I have to be awake with Manny. He might get lonely, and Elsa might drool on my shirt, so I gotta protect that."
She laughed, "I'm so happy for you, Jack."
I looked down at Elsa, her glossy lips forming into a curve as she slept.
"I'm happy that I found her."
A few minutes later, the liveliness got back, and everyone decided to ask random questions.
Audrey spoke out, "Okay, so what is everyone's favorite game? Mine is Pikmin."
"Pikmin? Seriously, Audrey?", Thia raised her eyebrows. "I don't play video games that much, but I do like Okani. The art style is way awesome."
"Peasants.", Once-ler rolled his eyes. "Halo for the win."
"Favorite game?", Rapunzel thought for a moment. "Kingdom Hearts is the only one I've ever played."
Elsa caught my eye and gave me a little wink. We both said, "MARIO KART!"
"But, wait, Spirit Tracks was kinda cool.", she added. She looked over at me with a teasing face, "Well, alright. Mario Kart is the coolest for me."
We both high-fived each other, and I brought her in for a big hug.
As I pulled away, I said, "Once-ler, your turn."
He cleared his throat, "So, what does happy look like to you?"
Audrey sat back, "Happy looks like a whole field of bright green trees, and flowers, and everything nature."
"A grand ole mural with a bajillion colors.", Thia said.
"A normal December evening, getting toasty by the fire and under oversized sweaters.", Elsa said.
I held Elsa's hand, and gave it a little squeeze, "You. It looks like you."
Elsa
Not too long after the questioning game ended, we arrived at the hotel we were staying in for the night. The theme park would have to wait until tomorrow, since we were all threshed out from the road trip. Rapunzel was the first to get out of the van and stretch herself outside, including her long hair.
"Let's get some rest, you guys.", she called us out, as she skipped towards the Reception area.
Thia breathed a yawn, "Mhm. I agree on that."
After everyone got out, Jack and I followed them towards the large glass doors of the suite. The lobby was quite classy, considering that we had some pretty cheap reservations. I mean, really, Jack just spluttered out that we were on some impromptu business vacation to Disney World. I don't even think this is close to a business vacation.
Jack held my hand as we stepped inside of an elevator, and I couldn't hold myself any longer. If this would continue on, boy, I'm gonna melt into bright pink liquid.
"Hey, are you okay?", Jack asked, smirking under the dim elevator lights.
I breathed out, "Yeah. I am."
"You still seem flabbergasted about this.", he said.
I rolled my eyes, "I'm fine."
He flashed me another one of his deadly smiles. God, I'm gonna die.
When the elevator doors opened, we saw the others parked outside of the room. Audrey was once again buried underneath her bags. Rapunzel stepped out from another room to join us.
"Mkay, guys. We have three rooms.", Rapunzel said. "Each one of us will be pairing with another person. In this case, Jack and Oncey will be in the first room, Audrey and Els in the second, and Thia and I in the last."
"Sounds good.", Thia says.
"We're like gonna be roomies for a night!", Audrey giddily pulled me inside out room.
"Night, Els.", Jack says with a smile just before the door closed behind me.
Jack
Just as I had expected, it was awkward having to sleep with Once-ler in one room. We would ultimately stare at each other before doing anything. I knew that he must have had a grudge on me for being with Elsa. I mean, who wouldn't?
"Hey, man.", I broke up the silence in the room. "I'm sorry."
"No hard feelings, Jack.", he replied a moment after. "I'm happy that she's happy. Just remember, if you break her heart, I will break you."
I nodded, "I would never."
He smiled a bit, and headed off to sleep in the other bed.
The next day was bright for everybody. Punzie was literally running around the hallway, trying to wake us up to get ready.
"Wake up, boys!", she yelled as she pounded on the black door. "We gotta leave... now!"
I hear muffled noises from outside, and Elsa's unmistakable sound.
"Rapunzel. Chill.", she said. "We'll get ready. Plus, it's too early to be in Disney World right now."
"Okay, but you all should hurry up.", Rapunzel replied. "I'm already in my Mickey Mouse shirt, and I don't wanna miss this."
I opened the door, and Elsa came crashing down on me.
"Oh, god. I'm sorry.", she laughed as she stood up. "Leaning on doors isn't a smart thing to do."
"Mornin', Elsie.", I returned a chuckle, and gave her a big hug.
Her cheeks started turning into a pale pink, "Hi..."
I smiled more, and she started turning all read.
"Stop smiling at me.", she says with a giggle.
"Then you gotta stop looking so pretty in the morning.", I replied with a wink.
At the theme park, we decided to stay together, and not split. Everyone was to try everyone's favorite rides, and so we would get each other lost. Thia seemed the Pirates of the Caribbean ride was her to-go place, so we went there first.
"This is gonna be so cool!", Audrey says as she slips on her Daisy Duck-themed Mickey Mouse ears hat. "Thanks for letting us take this day off, Jack."
I returned her a smile, and looked at the ice cream place beside us.
I scanned the place from afar, and I saw a familiar girl near the window, typing away on a laptop. When she looked up and caught my eye, I gazed into her dark eyes.
Elsa
Jack stopped for a moment and gazed at something. I followed where he had his eyes on, my fist crumpling up. The girl's eyes widened as she pressed her lips into a thin line.
It was her. She was the girl all along.
Tears started streaming from my face in front of everyone.
And that was the moment I knew.
A/N: Well, we all knew this was gonna happen, right?
Now, you'll have to wait again. xD
xoxo,
Julienne
