Ch.2 Classroom
~Y/n pov~
I reached the classroom and noticed a few people inside.
Quickly scanning them I realised they were all humans.
They were holding the doors shut so no zombies would come in.
I realised Gyeong-su was holding one of the doors shut.
So he's okay.
I knock on the window next to the door and waited a few seconds.
Gyeong-su's eyes widened as his eyes met mine through the window.
He hurriedly opened the door and pulled me inside.
"Thank God." Gyeong-su muttered as he pulled me into a tight hug.
I held him back just as tightly, "I'm glad you're okay."
"Someone hold the fucking door!" Na-yeon screeched as she realised no one was holding the door.
Gyeong-su went back to holding the door.
I looked around the room and saw a few people I recognised.
Sitting on one of the desks, I casually got out a sandwich and started eating it.
Some people gave me incredulous looks.
"What?" I asked while holding a half eaten sandwich, "I haven't eaten yet."
"How can you eat with all this going on?" Na-yeon yelled.
She was starting to get on my nerves.
"Well you see, I put food in my mouth and then I chew and swallow." I smiled sarcastically.
She rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath before ignoring me.
I noticed a few people trying not to laugh.
When I finished eating, I pulled the other sandwich out of my bag.
"Eat." I demanded, shoving the sandwich into Gyeong-su's hands, "I'll hold the door."
I grabbed the door and held it shut.
Gyeong-su silently ate the sandwich while standing next to me, looking out of the window.
Someone started banging on the door.
I looked up and noticed Cheong-san and On-jo banging on the door.
"Don't open the door! Don't open it!" Na-yeon yelled.
I ignored her and opened the door anyway, letting them in.
They both rushed in as I closed the door.
Gyeong-su threw his rubbish in the bin and turned to them, "Are you okay?"
"On-jo!" I-sak ran to her best friend and hugged her tightly.
"How's the campus? Are we dead or what?" Gyeong-su asked Cheong-san.
Cheong-san walked over to the window and peered out of it.
Gyeong-su took over holding the door again.
I turned as someone shoved the door open, "Asshole... brother in law."
The guys near the door all let him in.
He had something that looked like flour all over his face and clothes.
"What happened to your face?"
"I don't know, some crazy jerk sprayed me with a fire extinguisher." Dae-su complained as he wiped his face.
Cheong-san came back over, "Train."
"What?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Train to Busan."
"The movie?"
"Aren't they zombies? It's the same thing." Cheong-san stated.
"It may be similar... but this is real life. Also every virus in zombie movies is different. In most cases... they're sensitive to sound. Are you saying you want to test that out?" I stated.
I peered out the window.
There are almost no zombies in the hallway.
I think most of them are outside.
A hand slammed on the window leading to outside.
Everyone near the window jumped and backed away.
Two people climbed in through the window and then kicked the ladder away.
It was Nam-ra and Su-hyeok.
Su-hyeok collapsed to the ground, panting in exhaustion, "It's them right... zombies."
After a few moments he stood up.
Zombies started to appear in the corridor.
They noticed us in the classroom and started banging on the windows, leaving smudges and blood prints.
"We should look for a phone." Cheong-san suggested.
Everyone scrambled around, checking in the bags and desks.
"You know... I think Hyeon-ju is the one who spread the virus."
A few people looked at me as I spoke.
"She was thrashing around and trying to bite people and she bit the nurse... I saw the nurse turn." I wasn't sure why I was telling them this, "They took Hyeon-ju to hospital. It's not safe anymore. I'm sure the police have already realised what is happening."
"Do you think they'll come save us?" Ji-min asked.
"Who knows..." I sighed, "For now all we can do is survive."
"Here!" I-sak stood up with a phone in her hand.
Everyone gathered around.
"Who's is its?"
We quickly realised they'd turned into a zombie.
Cheong-san looked out of the window and noticed they were one of the zombies trying to get in.
He held the phone near the zombie, trying to make Face ID work.
I almost laughed at him.
"Idiot. You don't need that for emergency calls." I told him.
He blinked and then turned to me, "I knew that."
Sure you did....
He started to call the police.
"Hello? This is Hyosan high school. A ton of zombies showed up at lunch, and they're eating people." Cheong-san told them.
I internally facepalmed.
"Don't say zombies." On-jo stated.
"Then what?"
"They won't believe you."
"Did you happen to see the move Train to Busan?" Cheong-san asked.
If there weren't really zombies I wouldn't burst out laughing.
After a few more moments, the person on the other side hung up.
I heard someone scream and all the zombies ran towards the sound.
"He said they'll come." Cheong-san stated.
"What if they think it's a prank and decide not to come?" Gyeong-su asked.
"Try again and tell them to hurry up!" Na-yeon yelled.
"By quiet." Ji-min whispered harshly, "You'll attract the zombies."
"Give me the phone." I demanded.
Cheong-san wordlessly handed it to me.
I got ready to act. Fake tears here we go.
I rang the fire department.
They'd be able to easily kill zombies with the high pressure water, right?
"Hello." Someone on the other side answered.
"You've gotta help." I cried and sniffed to make it seem like I was scared.
"Is there a fire?"
"There's a huge fire at Hyosan high school. I'm stuck in a classroom and I can't get out." I sniffled, "Please help."
"We'll send someone right away. Just hold on."
Then they hung up.
My face when blank as I nonchalantly wiped the tears off my face, "There. Someone should be coming."
Everyone was silent for a few moments.
"Damn, you're a good actor."
"I know." I nodded at whoever had complimented me.
I just hoped the virus hadn't spread too far and they'd actually make it.
Everyone sat around and basically did nothing.
I laid my head on the desk and tried to sleep.
"We should call the cops again." Na-yeon got up nervously and started to pace around.
"I am, but they won't pick up." On-jo responded.
Na-yeon stormed over to Nam-ra, "Hey. Do something. Tell Ms Park to come and help. Do something."
Su-hyeok cut in, "Do what exactly?"
"I don't know. Anything!" She turned back to Nam-ra, "What have you done as class president?"
Nam-ra stood up and looked at her blankly, "You want me to go to the Teacher's office? Do you want me to leave?"
"Well... if you're offering." Na-yeon replied, not caring if Nam-ra was safe or not.
"You told me to do something. Do you want me to leave?"
"Stop it. She's only saying that because you're class president." On-jo tried to stop an argument from happening.
"So stupid. Typical." Nam-ra spat as she turned to face Na-yeon again, "Now that we are in this mess, I'm your class president?"
"We called the police already." Su-hyeok stated.
"But no one's coming." Na-yeon yelled as she started throwing a mini tantrum.
"Enough already, we're all scared too." Ji-min responded.
"Can you stop the whining?" Gyeong-su complained.
"Oh, now you're butting in, shithead?" Na-yeon glared at him.
"What? Did you just call me shithead?" He straightened up and stepped away from the door.
I grabbed the door and held it shut.
"The door, idiot." I stated.
Gyeong-su sent me a grateful look before glaring at Na-yeon.
"Stop it." Su-hyeok demanded.
I stepped away from the door as Gyeong-su went to hold it again.
"Who the hell does she think she is?" Gyeong-su grumbled.
My eyes widened as the door was ripped open with monstrous strength.
The gym teacher walked in.
We all immediately backed away.
"Are you guys okay?" The coach asked.
"What about you? Were you bitten?" Gyeong-san asked.
"No, of course not. Let's block the doors first." He demanded and started moving the desks in front of the doors, "Stack them high."
My eyes flickered down to his exposed arm and I noticed a bite mark.
I nudged the person closest to me, which happened to be I-sak.
"What?" She asked.
I gestured to the coach's arm.
She grabbed On-jo's arm and told her to look.
"Coach Kang. Your arm." I-sak said, catching his attention.
"What are you doing? Come help us." He responded.
"You have a bite mark on your arm!" On-jo yelled which made everyone freeze and look in our direction.
"No... I wasn't bitten." He denied it and rolled down his sleeve to cover it.
"It's a bite mark."
"I said it isn't. Don't talk back to me, okay?" Coach gave her an angry look.
"It looks like you were really bitten." I-sak continued.
"I wasn't!" Coach Kang yelled, "How many times must I tell you?"
"Then why the hell are you hiding it? Show it to us." I-sak yelled, "I think you should leave right now."
"What?" Coach Kang stared her dead in the eyes.
"Get out of here immediately." I-sak demanded bravely.
"You want me to go out there? After all I did to get here? You want me to go back out?" He spoke calmly, though you could see the anger in his eyes.
"You were bitten."
I backed away from them.
"I said get out now!" I-sak yelled in a panicked voice.
Gyeong-su grabbed onto my hand and held it tightly as we watched the scene in front of us.
"How dare you yell at me like that?! You little... come here. You won't come? Hey." Coach Kang started walking towards On-jo and I-sak.
He stopped walking and put his hand up to his nose as it started to bleed.
Most people scrambled away from him but a few people stood close to On-jo and I-sak.
On-jo whacked him over the head with her bag but it didn't do anything.
All it did was make him angry.
"You fucking bitch." He lifted his hand to hit her.
Before he could, his body collapsed to the ground.
It started convulsing weirdly and his bones cracked as he moved and writhed on the floor.
"We should get out of here!"
"Hey! He's turning!"
"Throw him out!"
He stood up and ran at a girl.
He ripped a huge chunk out of her cheek.
She let out screams as blood splashed onto the floor.
Tears ran down the girls cheeks as she panicked and started to turn.
She turned way faster....
Is the turn triggered by something?
Dae-su grabbed the coach and threw him off the girl but it was already too late.
Cheong-san pinned the coach against the wall with a desk.
A few people all joined him to try and hold the zombie down.
Na-yeon ran over to the door and pulled all the desks away.
The girl who had turned into a zombie got up and staggered towards Na-yeon.
Na-yeon let out a shriek and kicked the zombie away, "Get away from me!"
Dae-su grabbed her to try and restrain her as we pulled the chair away from the door.
We all ran out the room.
The ones who were restraining the other zombies quickly following.
I slammed the door shut so they couldn't follow us and grabbed Gyeong-su's hand, dragging him along with me.
He ran quickly to keep up with me.
