School:
I walk to lunch, hoping that all of us will be at lunch today. Recently Lucy has been leaving school for lunch... I would go with her, but I wouldn't want to get in trouble. I'm not even sure if teachers even care if she leaves. I'm completely different. I'm not a badass who's always skipping like Lucy.

I arrive at the lunch room and I sit down at our table. I am not the first one here--as Charlotte and Lillian are already here with lunch boxes.

Both of them always bring their own lunches from home. Charlotte does it because she is allergic to many foods, and Lillian does it because she likes home lunch better and rumors of food in schools being poisoned... Or something like that.

"I hope Lucy comes to lunch... She said she would..." Mumbles Lillian.

"I'm sure she will..." I say to Lillian in a reassuring tone.

"She has to!"

"I'm sure Lucy will come. If she doesn't, it's still okay, right?" Charlotte asks.

"I'm just worried about her... Always skipping classes..." Says Lillian.

"Lillian don't worry! Teachers never seem to care when Lucy skips class anymore. She gets good grades anyway," I say, trying to reassure Lillian.

"I'm going to buy lunch now, so I'll be back," I say. Lillian nods her head.

I leave the lunch table to get into line to buy lunch. While I am walking over, I see Lucy.

I run over to her. "Hey Lucy!"

"Hey Iris. I was going to the lunch table now," she replies.

"What about lunch?" I ask.

"Don't have any money."

"I'll buy you something."

"Thanks," she replies.

I get along really well with Lucy. I wouldn't call her my best friend, but she's a friend I can count on.

We both wait in line to buy lunch. There has to be at least a hundred people in front of us.

We start to put food on our boring gray trays. I get steaming hot mash potatoes and a small cup of chicken noodle soup. Lucy gets chicken tenders with curly fries. To drink Lucy gets soda while I get water.

We walk up to one of the cashiers where a lady stands with her hair in a hairnet. The lunch ladies also run the cashiers, which explains why the lady is wearing a hair net.

I pay for our food. The lady gives us a wide smile, her wrinkles showing. I've heard that she has been here for decades now, although it's just a rumor. There's also rumors about her being a demon, so I doubt either is true.

We walk to our table with our food and we sit down on the retro chairs. I'm not sure what theme the school is going for in here, as where you buy lunch looks new and modern while these chairs are retro. The tables don't seem to fit either style.

"Hey Alex," I say as I sat down next to my friend Alex.

Alex has neck length straight blonde hair and beautiful green eyes. Her hair is not the blonde like famous people, but it looks a little more yellow even though her hair is naturally blonde. She has fair skin.

"Hey Iris," she replies.

I notice that Alex packed her own lunch today. Sometimes she buys lunch, other times she brings lunch from home.

We all eat our lunch as we talk. 6 of us are at the lunch table today. We have a 7th friend in our friend group--Kai, although Kai doesn't eat lunch with us. He eats lunch with some boys at another table.

During lunch Lucy tells me about how Lillian made her attend second and third period. Lillian claims to not have told Lucy to attend second period. She does admit to doing so for third though. I find that a little strange. Lillian is just trying to get back at us... I hope...

Lunch eventually ends, and I have next period now. I throw my food away and I head to next period.
