Don't You Dare (One-Shot; 4)

Okay this is the last one lol

But I mean, I actually like this one soo

Damn hell hound, I thought as I jabbed with my sword. I'm starving and I have to kill this stupid thing first!

The beast keeping me from lunch lunged forward with its sharp claws. I jumped back, but it managed to get my arm, three long slashes now spilling small amounts of blood onto the grass below me.

"Dammit, you dumb dog! Will is going to give me hell about this now!"

"What am I giving you hell about now?"

I cursed under my breath in Italian. Speak of the devil.

I turned around to see Will, with his bow already in hand, running up to me. The hellhound snarled at us. I can't afford to be distracted right now.

"Will, what are you doing here? You're a healer, not a fighter!" I exclaimed, raising my sword to the mutt in front of us, glaring at it. As if that would make a difference.

"Well, you weren't at lunch, so I came to find you."

"Is lunch already over?"

"Yeah," Will told me, and I cursed again.

"Go back to camp, I have to kill his thing."

"Let me help!" He notched an arrow and aimed at the hellhound.

"Will Solace, don't you dare fire that arrow!"

"Why not?"

"If you shoot it, it'll come after you," as if to prove my point, the hound growled and took a step forward. Thankfully, it was still after me.

"Well better me than you," he drew his bowstring back farther, "I can see your arm, you know."

"Will, I think I can handle an oversized Chihuahua." The hellhound leaned on its front legs, showing off its yellow teeth. "Yeah that's right," I turned to it, "Why don't you go back to the hellish place you were created in," I spat.

That seemed to do it. He pounced towards me and took the chance to jump to the side and stab its stomach. It didn't burst into golden dust, instead, my sword absorbed its soul, as usual. (I'm pretty sure that's how his sword works, right?)

I looked at Will, who looked stunned. He put the arrow away, threw his bow over his back, and smiled. "That was amazing."

I smiled back at him, "Thanks. You're easily impressed. Any good fighter could kill a small hellhound."

"Are you calling me a bad fighter?"

I laughed at the look on his face, "Possibly."

He stuck out his tongue and giggled, "Whatever. Come on, I have some smuggled snacks in my room." He started walking back to the cabins. I stood still for a minute, probably looking confused. I grinned and shook my head. Putting away my sword, I ran after Will.
