Maddox raced up the stairs, his steps echoing in the whole house while his pounding heart went unheard. He reached his room and was immediately on his bed, his laptop on his legs. As soon as he logged onto his Facebook account, his eyes fell on the red notification indicating that he had unread messages.

He opened the message box to find that it was not from Deborah. It was from someone else. Someone he was not expecting. Yet, he was far from being disappointed. His eyes brightened as he saw the name on the screen.
