Darren Reilly used his family inheritance to fund an archaeology dig in Egypt; in fact, he used the inheritance to fund a number of digs over a number of years. He had become obsessed with a story he had been told as a child. There always was a curiosity about the world in general and all that may be within it. Where this curiosity came from was unknown or unclear though Darren always had a love of the strange and the stranger the stories his father would tell him the better.

When he was six years old Darren almost begged his father to tell him yet another story at bedtime, he did this often but the story he would be told on one particular night would rule his future, such was his own curiosity rather than intrigue in what he would hear. When most boys would fear the kind of stories Darren's father had to tell, Darren relished each and every tale to come at him.

Monsters, strange creatures, legends from near and far, the more far-fetched the story the better, Darren feared none of it, if anything he adored the idea that these stories could be true. The ideas and thoughts running through his young head, he was sure he'd follow through some day.

The one story which did stick out way more than any other from way back when ... was that of The Serpent Box. An ancient Egyptian deity who embodied chaos and often took the form of a serpent was defeated and captured by the Sun God Ra who locked this power and all that comes with it into a powerful box then this box, to be made safe, was buried down deep underground so the chaos can never be unleashed again.

Throughout time many searched for this box in the belief that whoever may find it may be able to control it and unleash the chaos at will and use it to their own benefit and until now no one has found the box or at least if they had then it had not been reported. No record was ever kept of the burial site, for obvious reasons, ... still ... there were rumours ...

At seventeen years of age, Darren lost both his parents when the airplane they travelled on business in, crash landed claiming the lives of all those who so happened to be on-board. The family home and fortune had been left to Darren and to Darren alone.

From the earliest opportunity, Darren set off and began the search for that Serpent Box. Many told him, many warned him that his search would be futile and that he was just wasting away the fortune his parents had worked so hard to build. He didn't listen; he did not heed any warning. The search for this box consumed him and now fifteen years after the deaths of his parents, he finally had what he believed he had been searching for.

It took his team of twenty archaeologists three months of time on their most recent dig to make the find and almost straight away they knew that they had found what it is they had been searching for. Once the box had been carefully dislodged from the spot it had been resting in for centuries, three Egyptian Cobras were revealed, alive ... viciously alive, and they themselves having been in behind where the box indeed had rested.

Three Egyptian Cobras, deadly snakes that could not have survived any length underground and in no way could have been where they were as long as the box itself had been, but still there they were, alive and indeed very deadly.

Now alone in his father's home office, a room Darren did not alter in any way since his parents died, he sits at a desk with The Serpent Box sitting on the table before him. Before even having himself any kind of opportunity to consider whether or not he should attempt to open the box, snakes began to invade not only the office but the house in general.

Where did they ...? How ...? The chaos has already begun, thing is now will the chaos control him or will there be any way he will be able to control the chaos? The box is unlocked, with what is happening, he has to open it ...
