Big Time Bad Boy

The boys were in the studio singing a new song Nini and Gustavo worked on.

"Rollin' past graffiti walls,
Billboards lighting up the block
Everyone of us on a mission...
Because the night is young
The line is out the door
Today was crazy but,
Tonight the city's ours
Live it up
Until the morning comes
Today was crazy but,
Tonight the city is ours..."

As the song finished, Logan threw his arms up in the air to cheer but he hit Carlos by accident knocking him down.

Gustavo, Kelly, and Nini stepped into the studio to which Kendall spoke, "Nins, Gustavo, the song is great."

"Um, of course, it is great," Gustavo said.

"We wrote it," Nini added. "But thanks."

"But the band isn't great," Gustavo added. What missing is the secret rock and roll ingredient."

"Hair mousse," James listed.

"Chocolate mousse," Carlos listed.

"I want that," Nini said, pointing to Carlos.

"Spandex?" Logan questioned. "Please don't say spandex."

"The bad boy," Gustavo answered. "The ill-tempered rebel with a flair for synchronized dance. One of you has to be it. I say it's Kendall."

Everyone turned to look at Kendall who had a semi-surprised look.

"Gustavo, why do we need a bad boy?" he asked.

Gustavo pointed to Kelly who played a message from a phone. "Gustavo, it's Griffin. The band needs a bad boy. Bye."

"He's driving me crazy!" Gustavo exclaimed. "But he's also right because the bad boy is a rock and roll tradition." He walked the group out to the hall to look at each boy band poster. First was BoyQuake. "Notice the back turned to the rest of the band. Bad boy." Then to Boy Last. "Notice the back turned, the dark clothing, and the scowl. Bad boy."

"But there can only be one bad boy per group, as learned from the Bad Boyz experiment of '95," Kelly stated, removing a poster to show a hidden poster with four boys turned away from one another.

"Didn't sell a single CD," Gustavo stated.

"But we're best friends. We never turn our backs on each other," Kendall stated which the boys all mumbled in agreement.

"Then let me let you in on another rock and roll secret," Gustavo stated. "The bad boy is also the most popular member of the band, makes the most money, and dates the hottest models."

Suddenly, James, Carlos, and Logan tried to be the bad boy, pushing and shoving one another, trying to turn their backs.

While Kendall and Nini just shared a look, shaking their heads in mutual agreement about their friends.

***

Nini and Kendall followed behind James, Carlos, and Logan who were striding into the apartment all of them wearing dark shades and cheering.

"Wussup, Mama Knight?" Logan greeted making Nini laugh.

Mrs. Knight looked to the only normal pair. "Gustavo says one of us has to be a bad boy," Kendall explains.

"Because it sells more CDs," Nini added with an eye roll.

"But you're all nice boys," Mrs. Knight stated before grabbing her son by the shoulders in worry. "Oh, I am so glad you're here. There's an ax maniac on the loose!"

Everyone looked to Katie who held a sign behind her mom's back saying: 'No there's not!'

"Oh, well, we'll be extra careful then, Mrs. Knight," Nini told her slowly.

"We promise," Kendall added.

Katie gave a thumbs up before James, Carlos and Logan all demanded, "We want pizza! Now!"

Mrs. Knight gave them looks that could kill to which they all removed their sunglasses and their voices overlapping in apology.

***

Nini sat next to Gustavo and Kelly as he made auditions for the bad boy.

"You really think having a bad boy is a good idea?" Nini asked

"Quiet," he told Nini who just raised her hands in surrender. "Here they come."

James, Carlos, and Logan walked into the hall in dark clothing with Kendall trailing behind in his usual clothing.

Carlos stepped forward with a large piece of wood to which he broke on his head resulting in him falling over.

"Next!" Gustavo called.

James stepped forward, dancing. "B to the A to the D...
That's me
A bad boy-eee..."

He grinned which I just cringed.

"Really, a grill?" Gustavo questioned before calling, "Logan!"

Logan threw his sunglasses to the side before dancing awfully in front of the group, snapping his fingers, swaying back and forth which made Nini try to hold in a giggle.

"You like that?" Logan asked repeatedly.

"No," Gustavo told him before standing up with Kelly and Nini. "Okay. So Kendall is the bad boy. You're gonna need to start wearing black clothing and talking deeper and slower."

"You mean be fake," Kendall stated. "I can't. Besides, I'm terrible at faking."

"No, Kelly is terrible at faking," Gustavo stated. "I can always tell when she lies to me."

"I have never...lied...to you," she said pausing.

"See?"

"Gustavo, we just don't want anything fake about our band," Kendall replied.

"Your band? Your band? This is my band," Gustavo stated. "Are you telling me that you're gonna ignore me and Griffin and the record company and not be our bad boy?"

"Yeah, pretty much," he answered.

"Bad boy," Gustavo confirmed making Kendall groan in frustration. "Get Griffin over here."

***

Griffin, Nini, and Gustavo stood in front of the band.

"Why isn't his back turned to the rest of them?" Griffin asked.

"Because he won't do as I say!" Gustavo exclaimed.

"Which makes him the bad boy," Nini piped in.

"And I don't turn my back on my friends," Kendall added.

'That's good. I respect that," Griffin told him. "But I said I wanted bad."

Again, James, Carlos, and Logan all said they could be bad resulting in Carlos yelling out before breaking another piece of wood on his head, resulting in him falling over.

"A bad boy is someone parents would never let their daughters date," Griffin spoke. "For example, if Nini was my daughter," Nini pointed to herself in questioning as Griffin turned to Gustavo. "I'd let her date any one of these boys, which is bad. Do something about this, or I will. Wait. I already did. Say hello to Wayne-Wayne."

Some guy in baggy clothes and shades strode into the studio. "What? What?" he spoke. "Yo, yo I'm Wayne-Wayne
From the mean streets of Detroit
I'm bad-bad as my bling-bling
And it's rapping grooves I exploit."

"Give him the contract," Griffin told Gustavo. "Isn't he bad?"

"Bad," Kelly and Nini said in agreement as in not so great. Everyone looked to them to which Kelly tried to cover up by saying, "But great. I mean, really, really bad, but, like, in a good way..." Gustavo gave her a motion to stop.

Wayne-Wayne took off his shades giving Nini a once over before giving her a smirk. "How you doing, baby? I'm Wayne-Wayne," he said in a flirty manner.

Kendall narrowed his eyes at them.

Nini hummed, crossing her arms, not buying into it. "I know-know," she mocked.

"Wayne-Wayne, blow it up," Griffin told him.

"Later later, Griff-Griff," he said as Griffin left before turning to the band.

"Yo, Wayne-Wayne, I'm..." James began.

"Wasting your time-time," Wayne-Wayne replied. "Look, I ain't here to make friends, okay? I'm here to take Big Time Rush to the next level. The Wayne-Wayne express is leaving the station. So you fools step on...Or step off."

Wayne-Wayne walked right up to Nini, grabbing her by the face and pressing his lips to hers.

James and Logan gaped at that while Kendall had a look of rage and disgust, stepping forward if it wasn't for James and Logan holding him in place.

Nini just let her arms hang by her side as Wayne-Wayne pulled back, sending her wink before saying, "Wayne-Wayne out-out."

Kendall looked to Nini hoping she wouldn't say she likes him or...

Nini wiped her lips with the back of her arm. "Gross," she muffled in disgust.

"We don't like him," the boys including Nini said.

"Yes, you do. You all do," Gustavo told them. "He's the bad boy, and he's staying at the Palm Woods. So be good boys and make friend-friends with Wayne-Wayne."

Carlos stood up from being unconscious and asked, "Who's Wayne-Wayne?"

***

At the Palm Woods, the group sat by the pool watching across the water as Wayne-Wayne was lying under the Jennifers' pool chair, benching it with them on it, chanting, "Go Wayne-Wayne!"

"First he joins our band without our permission," James began.

"Now he steals our girls," Carlos added.

"I mean..." Nini trailed off.

"Who have no interest in us..." Carlos told her. "But it's still not fair."

"And that's why we're gonna get rid of him," Logan said. "Kendall, get rid of him."

"Why me?" Kendall asked.

"Because he scares us," James answered.

Kendall stood up and faced the group. "We are a band. And we're gonna do this together." Nini smiled at him in pride for speaking his mind. "Because we are not afraid of some loudmouth, backwards-hatted, droopy pants wearing..." He stopped when he saw the group waving signals for him to stop speaking. "He's right behind me, isn't he?"

Kendall turned to Wayne-Wayne who spoke, "You want trouble-trouble, Ken-dork?" Nini narrowed her eyes at him. "Bring it, bring it."

"Yeah, we've decided that there's only room for four members in Big Time Rush," Kendall told him.

"Great-great." He pulled out his phone, calling Griffin, "Yo, Griff-Griff. The guys agree with me. Five in the band is too many."

"Sounds fresh, Wayne-Wayne. I'll stop by the studio tomorrow to see which one goes," Griffin spoke through the phone making James let out a scared scream. "Griff-Griff out."

Wayne-Wayne hung up the phone before saying, "You see...My contract states that I'm guaranteed to front a band, and I picked this band."

"Ooh, a contract. We're so scared," Kendall remarked.

"My contract also states that I get a posse." He snapped his fingers to which three men in white baggy clothes stood behind him. "Scared now?"

Kendall, James, Carlos, and Logan all took a step back, muttering agreement of fear while Nini looked at them. "Seriously?" she asked them before turning to Wayne-Wayne. "They may be scared of some...Eminem wannabe but I'm not. And you can't get rid of me."

Wayne-Wayne removed his sunglasses. "Trust me, baby. I wouldn't want to get rid of a feisty one like you."

"Oh, I'll show you fiesty," Nini began, getting closer to hin if it wasn't for the boys holding onto her.

Wayne-Wayne put his sunglasses back on. "Wayne-Wayne out-out."

***

The group was hiding behind a bush watching Wayne-Wayne from a distance.

"Man, he even makes sipping out of a coconut look tough," Logan stated.

Carlos smacked his tree hat. "Focus. One of us is gonna get kicked out of the band."

"My money's on Logan," James spoke earning a smack on his tree hat from Nini.

"Mean," Logan stated.

"Nobody's breaking us up," Nini told him.

"We're a team. We're not afraid of Wayne-Wayne or anybody else," Kendall added.

Camille popped out of nowhere in front of the group wearing a bright pink wrestler outfit. "Hey, guys," she greeted which made everyone but Nini. "Oh, relax, I didn't get the part. Maybe throwing the casting director in a flying headlock was a bad idea."

"You can tell me all about it later, Cam," Nini spoke. "But we're in an urgent save-our-band mission right now."

Camille glanced back at Wayne-Wayne. "Hey, when did Wally Dooley move to the Palm Woods?" she asked.

"Wally Who-ley?" Logan questioned.

"Wally Dooley. Yeah, he must be up for a bad boy role. We worked together on The Magic Middle school. Yeah, he played towel boy."

"What?" Everyone questioned.

Camille showed the group in the lobby a computer video of 'Wayne-Wayne' as towel boy.

"Why does he look cuter there than he does when we see him? Now, towel boy, I wouldn't mind kissing," Nini stated, earning a look from the boys especially Kendall who gave her a slight nudge in the arm, offended. "What? It's true."

"So Wayne-Wayne didn't grow up on the mean streets of Detroit," Logan stated once the small clip was over.

"He grew up in a mansion in Dallas," Camille stated. "His dad invented toast on a rope."

"And he's gonna kick one of us out of the band?" Kendall questioned. "Well, we're gonna kick him out of the band, 'cause we don't need no fakey-fakey, poser-poser..." Everyone made a motion for him to stop talking. "He's behind me again, isn't he?"

Kendall turned to face him as Camille waved to him. "Hey, Wally."

"Hey, Camille," he greeted back. "Oh, and news flash: This town is full of phonies, and nobody cares. Contract. Hey, what do you guys think of the name Wayne-Wayne Rush?"

"Dude, once Gustavo finds out that you're a phony-phony..." Carlos began.

"You are out-out," James finished.

"You guys, Gustavo is a joke, okay?" Wayne-Wayne stated. "Griffin has the power, and he'll get rid of whoever I say, and I say..." He looked at Kendall. "It's you. And there's nothing you can do about it because you can't stop the Wayne-Wayne train."

"Well, you better chug-a, chug-a your butt away, Wayne-Wayne before I kick it with my hockey stick in 3...2..." Nini threatened.

At that, he and his posse hurried out of the lobby.

***

The group hurried back to Rocque Records.

"What?" Gustavo asked them.

"Wayne-Wayne is a total fraud," Logan stated.

"He wants to kick Kendall out of the band," Nini added.

"Really? I would've bet on Logan," Gustavo remarked.

Nini pouted, giving Logan a small side-hug. "Hey!"

"Well, you would have lost," Logan told Gustavo.

"Wait. Whoa. We can't let Wayne-Wayne kick Kendall out of the band," Kelly spoke. "Gustavo, what are you gonna do?"

"Nothing," he answered, walking out of the office.

Everyone followed him. "You can't do nothing. Gustavo, you can't let this poser tell you what to do with your band," Kendall spoke.

Gustavo turned back to them. "It's not my band, okay? It's Griffin's. Look. I don't know if you've noticed, but I haven't had a hit in a while. This band is my ticket back to the top, and until I get back there...what he says goes."

"We'll team up," Kendall told him.

"No."

"It's our only shot," Nini told him.

"We'll need cool code names. I'll be the falcon," James said.

"I'll be the snowman," Logan added.

"And you'll need a tree hat," Carlos added, putting a tree hat on top of Gustavo's head until he removed it.

"No tree hat!" Gustavo exclaimed.

"Gustavo, we can come up with a plan," Kendall stated.

"Ooh, they are really good at plans," Kelly agreed.

"No plans. I don't want you hockey heads pulling any of your schemes or shenanigans that are gonna get me in trouble with Griffin and the record company." He grabbed papers off of Kelly's clipboard. "Now, here are your lyric sheets for the song you're gonna sing for Griffin in one hour." He wrote something on one paper before giving it to everyone including Nini even though she had the lyrics stashed away in her songbook.

Slowly everyone looked down at their sheets and everyone else's slowly catching on and keeping neutral expressions.

"Study them. Learn them. Got it?" Gustavo told them carefully.

"Got it," everyone agreed.

***

An hour passed and everyone was in the studio even Wayne-Wayne and Griffin.

"What are we waiting for?" Griffin asked. "I'm antsy."

"We're missing Kendall," Nini stated.

"So you got rid of Kendall. My money was on Logan."

Nini frowned while Logan said, "Why does everyone keep saying that?"

"Let's hear my new bad boy band," Griffin told the group.

Kendall walked into the recording area and said, "Yeah, let's hear it."

Nini's jaw dropped as her heart slowly began to increase in speed.

Kendall was wearing all black, combat boots, and even a little bit of dark eyeliner

She knew that this was part of the plan but in her mind, Kendall looked...hot.

...Because of all the black he's wearing...and it's a really hot day.

"Oh, no," Kelly mumbled.

Kendall approached Wayne-Wayne with a careless attitude.

"Ooh, it's a bad boy off," Carlos said excitedly.

"A bad boy off?" Griffin questioned. "That sounds interesting. Doesn't that sound interesting?"

"You know, one thing I know about bad boys is..." Kendall began, picking up a microphone holder. "They like breaking stuff."

He slammed it into Gustavo's platinum records on the wall, making glass shatter and Gustavo to scream as Nini faked a shocked expression.

"He's right. Bad boys do like breaking stuff," Griffin said.

Gustavo went into the recording area with Nini. "What was that?" Gustavo questioned. "You smashed one of my platinum records?"

"Oh, yeah?" Wayne-Wayne began, picking up Kendall's microphone holder. "Well..." He smashed three records making Gustavo yell and hurry forward to which Kelly jumped on his back to restrain him.

"Ooh, round one of the bad boy off goes to Wayne-Wayne," Griffin said. "Someone ring a bell." Someone from his team raised a boxing bell, dinging it twice. "What's next?" he asked Nini.

Nini shrugged. "Singing?" she suggested.

Next, everyone stood in front of the sound booth that Wayne-Wayne was in.

"I said I'm Wayne-Wayne on the mic-mic
I'm badder than bad
I said the city is ours
We're gonna take it like we're mad," Wayne-Wayne rapped.

He was knocked out of the way by Kendall who rapped,
"Your rhymes are weak
Mine fit like a glove
Gustavo's got a face only a mother could love..."

Gustavo stood up in anger to which Kelly and Nini held him down.

"Round two goes to Kendall," Griffin stated as the bell was rung. "I can't wait for round three."

Next everyone but Gustavo stood outside his office as Kendall was inside, breaking many things.

Gustavo rushed up with a scared look to which Griffin told him, "That does not sound good."

Gustavo hurried to the door, trying to pull it open. "He locked it," Nini said.

At this Gustavo pulled out his keys, unlocking the door and pushing the door open.

The office was trashed, the desk and shelves were broken as well as lights were barely hanging onto the ceiling making Gustavo yell.

Kendall slowly exited the office with a sledgehammer to which he threw behind him with a small smirk.

"He destroyed my office, my music awards, and he used my drawer as a bathroom," Gustavo said.

"Bad boys go where they want," Kendall replied.

"That's a new one. Original," Griffin stated. "And very, very bad." He looked to Nini. "Nini, if you could choose any bad boy to go out with, who would choose?"

Nini looked between Wayne-Wayne and Kendall.

It's Bad Boy Bachelorette, who would've thought.

"I want the baddest of them all," Nini spoke. "And I pick Kendall."

Kendall reached out, grabbing her hand and pulling him close to her with all his strength before leaning his face towards her and pressing his lips to her.

Nini responded this time, kissing back with her hands on his shoulders as he lightly gripped her chin, raising her face up to his.

Nini finally parted from Kendall, looking up at him with a small smile on her face and her eyes looking at him dreamily. "Wow," she mumbled.

She wasn't acting.

Kendall looked at Griffin with a smirk as he wrapped an arm around Nini's waist. "Bad boys always take what's theirs."

"Indeed, they do," Griffin agreed. "He gets the girl and-"

"No, no, no!" Wayne-Wayne yelled. I'm the bad boy. Me!"

"Dude, he went in his desk," Carlos stated.

"I'll show you," he pointed to Nini. "And I'll show you," he pointed at Kendall. "And I'll show all of you. I'll...I'll..."

He raised his foot up and kicked Griffin in the groin.

"Kumbaya," he groaned before falling to the floor but pointed to Wayne-Wayne.

The men grabbed Wayne-Wayne by the arms to which he asked, "Too far?"

Griffin stood up with a smile. "You're right, Wayne-Wayne. Big Time Rush should be only four."

"You can't fire me. You know why? 'Cause I have... A contract. You have to put me in the band."

"I have to put you in a band, just not this one," Griffin explained. "They already have a bad boy."

"But I don't want to wear these clothes all the time, and I won't turn my back on my friends," Kendall told Griffin.

"Fine," Griffin agreed. "And I'd still let you date Nini if she was my daughter. But I want you nowhere near my desk. Griff-Griff out."

He left with Wayne-Wayne being dragged out as he yelled, "No, but I'm the bad boy! No, you...you can't...I have a contract! I have a contract. I'm a bad boy!"

All the group did was wave goodbye to Wayne-Wayne.

"You!" Gustavo yelled at Kendall, removing his sunglasses and smiled. "Nice work."

The group laughed with Gustavo until Kelly spoke "Wha-? But he...he smashed, and you...He went in-"

"I teamed up with the hockey heads," Gustavo admitted. "'Cause they do have good plans."

"I was here the whole time. When did you plan this?" Kelly asked him.

The group showed their lyric sheets put together that read, 'LET'S GET RID OF WAYNE WAYNE'.

"Hey, I could've helped," Kelly spoke. "I'm part of this team, too, you know?"

"Yes, you are. But you're still a horrible faker liar actress," Gustavo told her.

The group just muttered small agreements to which Kelly began to cry, at first it was believable until her acting got a bit overdramatic to which she dropped the act and agreed, "Yeah, you're right."

Everyone cheered, throwing their lyrics sheets up in the air.

"Also really great acting on your guys' part," Kelly told Kendall and Nini. "It really looked like you guys were a real couple."

Kendall and Nini both let out exaggerated laughs but to them, it sounded believable.

Nini raised her hand up to him. "Good job, pal."

"You too," Kendall told her before high-fiving her hand. "Pal."

***

Later, The group entered their apartment.

"Hey, mom. I'm a bad boy," Kendall bragged to Mrs. Knight who was clutching onto a frying pan.

Nini nearly tripped over someone on the floor to which she said, Mrs. Knight, why's the maintenance guy on the floor?"

"Maintenance guy?" she questioned as everyone sat on the couch.

"Let's check out Wayne-Wayne's new band," Kendall stated before turning on the TV.

"The Ziggle Zaggles!" someone on the TV said.

Wayne-Wayne or...Wally singing a song to kids about eating bananas.

Nini was laughing with Carlos as James said, "He is really bad."

The channel was changed as a news reporter said, "Tonight, a warning for anyone on the 210 freeway. A police chase is in progress." The video showed a blond girl driving a very familiar car. "The car is believed to be driven by Molly Finster..."

"That's Molly!" Katie exclaimed.

The reporter continued, "A 20-year-old con actress who passes herself off as an 11-year-old trying to land jobs in Hollywood."

"I told you she was weird," Katie told her mom.

"Yeah, you got that right," the maintenance guy agreed now awake.

"Mom? Is that your rental car?" Kendall asked.

"Yep," she answered.

"Yikes," Nini mumbled.
