Chapter 66
Taehyung watched from afar as Seokjin fought his way through Jungkook's men. He couldn't help but admire Seokjin's determination and strength.
"Jungkook, what is your next move?" Taehyung asked, his voice filled with concern.
Jungkook ignored Taehyung's question and continued to watch Seokjin with a detached amusement. He seemed to be enjoying watching Seokjin struggle.
Taehyung's heart ached for Seokjin. He knew that Seokjin was no match for Jungkook's men, but he couldn't bear to watch him give up.
"Jungkook, please," Taehyung pleaded. "Just let him go."
Jungkook finally turned to Taehyung, his eyes cold and calculating. "Why should I?" he asked.
"Because he's been through enough," Taehyung said. "He doesn't deserve this."
Jungkook scoffed. "He deserves everything he's getting," he said. "He's nothing more than a traitor, he also took my son."
Taehyung's eyes narrowed. "You're wrong," he said. "Seokjin is a good man. He's just made some mistakes and yours are the same."
Jungkook laughed. "Mistakes?" he said. "He betrayed me. He stole my life, especially for having a great family."
Taehyung shook his head. "You're letting your anger blind you, Jungkook," he said. "Seokjin didn't betray you. He did what he thought was right."
Jungkook's eyes flashed with anger. "You don't know what you're talking about," he said. "You're too soft. You can't see the world for what it really is."
Taehyung sighed. "I know what the world is like, Jungkook," he said. "And I know that there is still good in it. You just have to choose to see it."
Jungkook turned away from Taehyung and looked back at Seokjin. Seokjin was still fighting, but he was starting to tire.
Jungkook's lips curled into a cruel smile. "It's over, Seokjin," he said. "You can't escape me."
Seokjin looked up, his eyes filled with defiance. "I'll never give up," he said.
Jungkook laughed. "We'll see about that," he said.
With that, Jungkook turned and walked away. Taehyung watched him go, his heart heavy with despair. He knew that the battle between Jungkook and Seokjin was far from over.
Taehyung sighed heavily as he watched Jungkook's retreating figure. He knew that his words had fallen on deaf ears, that Jungkook was determined to see Seokjin suffer. But Taehyung couldn't give up. He had to try to save his friend, to prevent him from succumbing to his darker impulses.
With a renewed sense of determination, Taehyung followed Jungkook, his mind racing with ways to persuade his best friend to abandon his destructive path. He knew that it would be a difficult task, that Jungkook's mind was clouded with anger and resentment. But Taehyung also knew that Jungkook wasn't entirely lost to the darkness, that there was still a glimmer of hope within him.
As they walked, Taehyung tried to engage Jungkook in conversation, to steer him away from his obsessive thoughts about Seokjin. He spoke of their shared past, of the good times they had together, of the bond they once shared.
Jungkook listened silently, his expression unreadable. Taehyung could sense that his words were having an impact, that they were stirring something deep within Jungkook's soul.
Finally, Taehyung gathered his courage and spoke directly about Seokjin. "Jungkook," he said, his voice filled with sincerity, "you have to stop this. You can't let your anger consume you."
Jungkook stopped walking and turned to face Taehyung. "Why do you care so much about him?" he asked, his voice laced with bitterness.
"Because he's my friend," Taehyung replied, his voice unwavering. "And I know that he's not a bad person. He's just made some mistakes."
"Shut up, you only care for him, because you love him!!" Jungkook roared, his voice filled with venom. "You still love him... Do you?
"No, Jungkook," Taehyung said, his voice firm and resolute. "I know to myself that he is never gonna love me, like he did to you."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his anger rising to the surface. "You don't understand," he said, his voice trembling with emotion. "He left me with nothing."
Taehyung reached out and placed a hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "I understand," he said, his voice filled with empathy. "But you can't let your pain control you. You have to choose forgiveness, Jungkook. For your sake, for mine, for Seokjin's sake."
Jungkook stared at Taehyung, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger, confusion, and a flicker of hope. Taehyung's words echoed within him, challenging his deeply ingrained beliefs, his carefully constructed façade of strength and invulnerability.
Amidst the chaos and pandemonium, Seokjin and Hoseok found themselves cornered, their path to rescuing Jung-eon blocked by a horde of Jungkook's ruthless men. With their backs against the wall, their only hope lay in a desperate act of sacrifice.
Hoseok, his eyes filled with unwavering determination, turned to Seokjin, his voice firm and resolute. "Go, Seokjin," he said. "Save Jung-eon. I'll hold them off."
Seokjin's heart pounded with a mixture of gratitude and despair. He knew that Hoseok's sacrifice was a noble one, a selfless act that would give him the chance to rescue their son. But he also knew that Hoseok was risking his life, putting himself in harm's way to protect them.
With a heavy heart, Seokjin nodded in agreement. He couldn't deny Hoseok's selfless offer, his willingness to sacrifice himself for the sake of their son. He had to trust Hoseok, had to believe in his ability to hold them off, to give him the time he needed to rescue Jung-eon.
As Seokjin turned and sprinted away, Hoseok faced the oncoming onslaught with unwavering courage. His body braced against the door, his muscles straining against the pressure, he held the horde at bay, his determination fueled by the love for his friends and the promise of Jung-eon's safety.
The men slammed against the door, their fists pounding against Hoseok's body, but he remained steadfast, his resolve unwavering. He knew that every second he held them off was another second that Seokjin had to reach Jung-eon.
The relentless pounding against the door ceased, an eerie silence enveloping the room. Hoseok, his body battered and bruised, stood guard, his every breath a battle against the encroaching darkness. He had held off Jungkook's men for what seemed like an eternity, his strength waning with each passing moment.
With a trembling hand, he reached for the doorknob, a flicker of doubt clouding his mind. What if it was a trap? What if Jungkook had devised a cruel twist, a final blow to shatter their hopes of rescue?
Yet, the thought of Seokjin and Jung-eon, their lives hanging in the balance, spurred him forward. He had to trust that Taehyung had found a way to breach Jungkook's defenses, that he had managed to extricate Hoseok from this perilous situation.
With a deep breath, Hoseok turned the knob, the door creaking open with a rusty groan. As the hinges yielded, a wave of relief washed over him, for standing before him was none other than Taehyung, his face etched with concern but his eyes radiating a sense of triumph.
Behind Taehyung, Jungkook's men stood motionless, their eyes wide with surprise. They had expected to find Hoseok weakened and vulnerable, an easy target to capture. Instead, they were met with a scene that defied their expectations, a testament to the unwavering friendship that bound Hoseok and Taehyung.
Hoseok, his body finally succumbing to the exhaustion that had been gnawing at him for so long, collapsed into Taehyung's arms. A faint smile graced his lips, a silent expression of gratitude for his friend's unwavering support.
As Hoseok's consciousness slipped away, a sense of calm descended upon the room. The tension that had gripped them for hours dissipated, replaced by a renewed sense of hope. They had overcome the seemingly insurmountable odds, their bond stronger than ever before.
Taehyung, cradling Hoseok's unconscious form, turned to face Jungkook's men, his eyes filled with a quiet determination. "You have lost," he declared, his voice echoing through the room. "All you back to your station."
The men, their resolve shaken by the unexpected turn of events, lowered their weapons, their faces etched with defeat. They knew that their leader's grip on power had been shattered, that the tide had turned against them.
As the echoes of Taehyung's words faded into the stillness of the night, a new dawn began to break, heralding a new era of peace and hope for those who had been subjected to
Taehyung looked at the innocent, tired face of Hoseok.
"Your safe now, Hoseokie,"
