Chapter 49

The race between Seokjin and the car behind him continues.

Seokjin's heart pounded in his chest as he found himself trapped between two black cars, the mysterious pursuer behind him and Jungkook's car blocking his path ahead. The sight of Jungkook's smirk in the clear car window sent a jolt of fear through him.

Jungkook's presence was a complete surprise, and his smug expression only fueled Seokjin's apprehension. Had no idea why Jungkook was there or what he wanted, but he knew he had to be careful.

His mind raced, trying to assess the situation and figure out his next move. The cornfields surrounding him offered little protection, and the two cars seemed to have him cornered.

Suddenly, an idea struck him. He remembered an old, abandoned warehouse located just a few miles away. It was a risky move, but it was his only chance to escape.

With a surge of adrenaline, Seokjin slammed on the accelerator, his car swerving dangerously towards the warehouse. The pursuing car reacted quickly, trying to cut him off, but Seokjin was one step ahead.

He maneuvered his car through the narrow dirt roads, weaving in and out of the cornfields, his heart pounding in his chest. The warehouse loomed closer, its dilapidated walls offering a glimmer of hope.

As he approached the warehouse, Seokjin spotted a narrow opening in the side wall. With a daring move, he steered his car through the opening, narrowly avoiding a collision with the pursuing car.

The warehouse was dark and dusty, the air thick with the smell of damp wood and decaying metal. Seokjin quickly abandoned his car and ducked into the shadows, hoping to escape Jungkook's clutches.

He could hear the sound of footsteps approaching, Jungkook's voice taunting him from the darkness. Seokjin held his breath, his body trembling with fear.

Seokjin's heart pounded in his chest as he crouched behind a pile of old boxes, the sounds of Jungkook's men echoing through the warehouse. He held his breath, praying that they wouldn't find him.

The warehouse was vast and dimly lit, the only source of light coming from the narrow windows high up in the walls. Jungkook's men, their faces grim and determined, moved methodically through the space, their flashlights cutting through the darkness.

Seokjin could hear their voices, whispering amongst themselves, their footsteps crunching on the dust-covered floor. He squeezed himself tighter behind the boxes, his body trembling with fear.

One of the men shouted, his voice echoing through the warehouse. "Search the area thoroughly! Don't leave a single box or crate unchecked!"

The other men nodded and spread out, their flashlights probing every corner of the warehouse. Seokjin closed his eyes, his mind replaying the events that had led him to this moment.

Jungkook's smirk still haunted him, the memory of his taunting words sending a shiver down his spine. He had no idea why Jungkook was targeting him, but he knew he had to escape.

The warehouse was growing colder, the dampness seeping into Seokjin's bones. He shivered involuntarily, trying to suppress the sound.

One of the men approached the pile of boxes Seokjin was hiding behind. His flashlight beam scanned the area, its light inches from Seokjin's face.

Seokjin held his breath, his heart pounding like a drum in his chest. The man's hand reached out, brushing against the boxes.

For a moment, Seokjin thought he had been discovered. But then, the man moved on, his flashlight beam continuing its search.

Seokjin let out a silent breath of relief. He had escaped detection, for now. But he knew he couldn't stay hidden forever. Jungkook's men would eventually find him.

He had to think of a plan, a way to escape from the warehouse and get away from Jungkook. But as he lay there, huddled behind the boxes, his mind was blank, his thoughts consumed by fear.

"Seokjin, I know your there. Get out wherever you are?!" Seokjin's heart sank as Jungkook's voice echoed through the warehouse, his words piercing the silence like a dagger. "I have your son," Jungkook declared, his voice laced with a cruel satisfaction that sent shivers down Seokjin's spine.

A wave of panic washed over Seokjin, his body going numb with fear. Jung-eon, his precious son, was in Jungkook's hands. The thought of his son being threatened sent a jolt of adrenaline through him, and he knew he had to act.

Without hesitation, Seokjin emerged from his hiding place, his eyes frantically searching for Jungkook. He spotted him in the center of the warehouse, surrounded by his men, a triumphant smirk on his face.

"Let my son go!" Seokjin shouted, his voice trembling with a mixture of fear and anger.

Jungkook's smirk widened, his eyes gleaming with a malicious glint. "Your son will be safe," he taunted, "but only if you do as I say."

Seokjin's mind raced, trying to decipher Jungkook's motives. What did he want? What game was he playing?

"I'll do anything," Seokjin pleaded, his voice hoarse with desperation. "Just let my son go."

Jungkook's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing Seokjin's soul. "Very well," he said, his voice dripping with venom. "Then you will give me what I want."

Seokjin's heart pounded in his chest as he awaited Jungkook's next words. He had no idea what Jungkook demanded, but he was willing to do anything to protect his son.

"I want you to surrender yourself," Jungkook declared, his voice echoing through the warehouse.

Seokjin's eyes widened in disbelief. All this time, he hides himself for 5 years after his betrayal.

"Never!" Seokjin exclaimed, his voice filled with defiance. "I will never give up on myself and my son too!"

Jungkook's face hardened, his eyes burning with anger. "Then your son will pay the price. I'll take him back to Korea." he threatened, his voice cold and menacing.

Seokjin's heart pounded in his chest, his voice trembling as he pleaded with Jungkook. "Please," he begged, his eyes filled with desperation, "Don't take my son. Jung-eon is my life."

Jungkook's face remained cold and impassive, his eyes devoid of any emotion. "He's the key to getting what I want," he said, his voice devoid of any warmth or compassion.

Seokjin's mind raced, trying to find a way to reason with Jungkook, to appeal to his humanity. But Jungkook was a man driven by vengeance, and Seokjin knew that there was nothing he could say to change his mind.

"I'll give you anything you want," Seokjin offered, his voice thick with desperation. "Just let Jung-eon go."

Jungkook laughed, a cruel, mocking sound that echoed through the warehouse. "You think, you think you can hide our son for almost five years from me, Seokjin?" he sneered.

"Please, not him. I'll do anyhthing. Whatever you say name it, I'll give it to you" Seokjin begged again, his voice breaking with emotion.  Jungkook smirks witnessing Seokjin begging to him.

"Did you say anything, Seokjin," Seokjin gulped as he waiting for the consequences coming for him.
