Chapter 35
Seokjin was hesitant at first, but eventually agreed, wanting to escape from his sorrows.
Mingyu's apartment was a reflection of his personality: warm, welcoming, and inviting. Its cozy ambiance was a stark contrast to the cold, empty feeling Seokjin had been carrying inside.
As they settled into the plush living room couch, Seokjin couldn't help but admire the intricate details of the room. The soft, textured throw pillows, the elegant coffee table book collection, and the framed photographs that adorned the walls all spoke of Mingyu's refined taste.
Their conversation flowed effortlessly, like a gentle stream meandering through a tranquil landscape. They reminisce about their shared past, their laughter echoing through the room as they recall daddy jokes and embarrassing moments.
As they delved deeper into their memories, they stumbled upon the day Seokjin had come to Mingyu's aid. Five years ago, Mingyu had been robbed at a late-night convenience store, leaving him shaken and disoriented. He stops by a restaurant, his mouth drooling to the people who'd eat dinner while he doesn't have money. Now, he understands poor people who don't have money to buy food. One of the staff kicked him out. He thought that he's a beggar who bothered the people, however, Seokjin being a kind-hearted person helped and gave Mingyu food.
Mingyu recalled that night vividly, the memory of Seokjin's kindness etched into his heart like a precious gem.
"Seokjin," he said, his voice filled with gratitude, "I'll never forget what you did for me that night. You were my savior."
Seokjin smiled warmly, his heart touched by Mingyu's sincere words. "It was nothing despite, I do those things," he replied humbly. "I just did what anyone would have done. Even though I don't recall those memories."
Their conversation continued late into the night, each shared memory weaving a stronger bond between them. Refrain to all the memories he lost. As the first rays of dawn began to peek through the curtains, Mingyu gently suggested that Seokjin get some rest.
Seokjin, feeling more at ease than he had in days, gratefully accepted the offer. He drifted off to sleep in the spare room, Mingyu's kindness and understanding cradling him like a lullaby.
When Seokjin woke up the next morning, he felt a renewed sense of hope. Mingyu's unwavering support had reminded him that he wasn't alone in his struggles. As they walked home together, Seokjin felt a deep appreciation for Mingyu's friendship, knowing that he could always count on him to be there, offering a listening ear and a warm embrace.
As Seokjin stepped out of Mingyu's apartment building, the cool morning air washed over him, carrying with it a sense of renewed clarity. He turned to Mingyu, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "I don't know what I would have done without you."
Mingyu smiled warmly, returning Seokjin's gaze. "You're welcome," he replied. "You're my friend, and I'm always here for you."
Seokjin nodded, his heart filled with warmth. He turned and walked away, his footsteps lighter than they had been in days. As he strolled through the streets, his thoughts drifted to his best friend, Hoseok. He knew that Hoseok would be the one person he could turn to for unconditional support and understanding.
Hoseok's apartment was abuzz with activity as Seokjin arrived. Hoseok, always the life of the party, was hosting a gathering of their friends. Seokjin felt a pang of hesitation, unsure if he was ready to face the crowd in his current emotional state.
But Hoseok, sensing his friend's apprehension, greeted him with a warm embrace and a knowing smile. "Seokjin," he said, his voice laced with concern, "what's wrong?"
Seokjin hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much to share. But Hoseok's gentle demeanor and encouraging eyes coaxed the truth from him. He poured out his heart to Hoseok, recounting the events of the past few days, the betrayal, the heartbreak, and the uncertainty that lay ahead.
Hoseok listened patiently, his empathy radiating from his every gesture. When Seokjin finished, he didn't offer empty platitudes or false reassurances.
Instead, he simply offered his unwavering support. "I'm here for you, Seokjin," he said, his voice firm and reassuring. "No matter what happens, I'll be here."
Seokjin's eyes welled up with tears, but this time they were tears of gratitude. In the midst of his despair, he found solace in Hoseok's friendship, a beacon of light in the darkness that had engulfed him.
As the day wore on, Seokjin and Hoseok talked, their conversation weaving a tapestry of shared memories, unspoken fears, and unwavering support. By the time the party ended, Seokjin's heart still ached, but it was no longer consumed by despair. A flicker of hope had been ignited, nurtured by Hoseok's kindness and understanding.
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the city, Hoseok and Seokjin sat in Hoseok's cozy apartment, their conversation winding down after a day filled with shared memories and heartfelt confessions.
Seokjin's face, still etched with the remnants of his recent heartbreak, held a glimmer of hope, ignited by Hoseok's unwavering friendship.
Hoseok, his mind still buzzing with the details of Seokjin's story, couldn't shake off a nagging suspicion that had been growing throughout their conversation. The mysterious sender of the video, the one who had brought Seokjin's world crashing down, seemed too calculated, too precise in their actions.
"Seokjin," Hoseok began, his voice laced with concern, "I have a feeling about that video. I don't think it was just a random act of malice."
Seokjin's eyes widened, his curiosity piqued. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly.
Hoseok leaned forward, his gaze fixed on Seokjin's. "I think," he said, choosing his words carefully, "that the person who sent that video wanted you to see it. They wanted you to be hurt."
Seokjin's heart sank. The thought that someone would intentionally cause him pain was almost unbearable. But Hoseok's words resonated with a truth deep within him.
"Who would do something like that?" Seokjin asked, his voice barely a whisper.
Hoseok shook his head, his expression troubled. "I don't know yet, Seokjin," he said.
"But whoever it is, they have something to gain from your suffering."
Seokjin's mind raced, trying to piece together the puzzle, but the pieces seemed scattered and unconnected. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that the video was just the tip of the iceberg, a symptom of something deeper and more sinister.
"We need to find out who sent that video," Seokjin said, his determination hardening. "We can't let them get away with this."
Hoseok nodded in agreement. "I'm with you, Seokjin," he said. "We'll find out who did this, and we'll make them pay."
Seokjin and Hoseok's suspicions initially fell upon Jimin, Jungkook's ex-boyfriend. They reasoned that Jimin might have sent the video, Jungkook's newfound success as the CEO of Jeon Corporation.
Jimin, aware of the potential damage a public exposure of his relationship with the raven could cause to Jungkook's reputation. Vehemently denied any involvement in the video's distribution, however, Jimin is a type of person wouldn't do those lowlights' idea to ruined his career also Jungkook's reputation.
Hoseok, ever the supportive friend, remained by Seokjin's side, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence. He encouraged Seokjin to focus on his own well-being and not let the actions of others define his happiness.
As the investigation into the video's sender continued, Seokjin and Hoseok found themselves drawn into a world of corporate espionage and hidden agendas.
They discovered that Jungkook's meteoric rise to the top of Jeon Corporation had ruffled feathers, and many within the company were eager to see him fall.
Their investigation led them to a ruthless rival of Jungkook's, a man who would stop at nothing to destroy Jungkook's reputation and claim the throne of Jeon Corporation for himself. It was this man, driven by greed and ambition, who had orchestrated the distribution of the video.
Seokjin and Hoseok's brainstorming session continued as they tried to identify Jungkook's potential enemies. They ruled out Jeon Corporation's rivals since Jeon was still a formidable force in the industry. Seokjin also dismissed the possibility of his parents being involved, despite their competitive nature, given the Jeon family's past support for them.
Hoseok then brought up the name Namjoon, Seokjin's adoptive older brother. While Seokjin initially dismissed the idea, Hoseok pointed out that Namjoon had always been envious of Seokjin's success and position in the Jeon family, however, his doubts never removed. He cannot earn anything for destroying our relationship.
He suggested that Namjoon might have orchestrated the video's distribution to sabotage Seokjin's relationship with Jungkook and further fuel his own jealousy.
Seokjin was hesitant to believe that his own brother would do such a thing, but Hoseok's words struck a nerve.
Because he knows that Namjoon is the all the jack-trade and most favorable in the family.
