Always catch you.
Right! Time to attempt to brighten up the mood since I just went on a depression rampage!
(Nagisas pov)
I was sitting outside my house waiting to spot a red head in the pouring rain.
Eventually, amongst all the grey I saw a vibrant tinge of red getting closer.
It took me a while to realise he was running toward me. I laughed a little at Karma covering his head with his jacket. He ran to were I was sitting and dipped his head under my umbrella.
"You could've told me it was going to rain. I didn't bring an umbrella!" He whined.
"Sorry, I can't control the weather." I said playfully. We began walking to school, Karma eventually getting use to the weather.
It was quiet. To quiet. I didn't really like how quiet it was.
"You know Karma..." He glanced down at me. I smiled. "I'm glad you agreed to walk to school with me! Just makes the day not as gloomy ya know" I giggled a little.
"Y-yeah..." I noticed a faint blush on his cheeks. He must feel embarrassed, being under an umbrella like this with another guy when he could be sharing an umbrella with a girl...
"Hey cheer up." He nudged my arm, as we got to school.
"Oh uh...sorry..."
"Hey so...I was gonna ask earliar...but I didn't want to spoil your good mood..." I glanced up at him, as we got inside the school building. "Where did you get the bruise on the side of your cheek?"
My hand quickly covered my cheek. I realised that the rain had washed of the make up I used to hide it.
"O-oh...I walked into my door just before bed last night..."
He held his stare for ask long time, before turning, and changing his shoes.
I let out a quiet sigh, before changing my own.
...I obviously lied...no way I could tell Karma...I could never tell him...
~flashback to this morning~
"Nagisa~ sweetie, who are you walking to school with today?" My mom yelled to my room.
I came downstairs, wearing Karmas jacket. It smelt so nice, just like Karma.
I then noticed my mom glaring at me.
"So your walking to school with HIM." My mom sighed. "I don't see why you can't just make girl friends. A proper lady shouldn't surround herself with horrible people like that Akabane." My mom growled.
I twitched a little before yelling.
"MOM! DON'T SAY SUCH MEAN STUFF ABOUT KARMA! HE'S AN AMAZING PERSON!! SO STOP CALLING HIM HORRIBLE NAMES!!" As soon as I stopped yelling, I realised what I had just done.
She stomped up toward me, and grabbed the sides of my face, throwing me into the wall.
"It is my job! As your MOTHER! To make sure you're surrounded by the good kinds of people. And it is your job as my daughter, to let your mother guide you threw this world!"
I held my cheek, feeling the pain already.
Before I left the house, I covered it with some make up I bought just for the occasion.
~back to present~
"Hey Nagisa, wanna hang out after school today?" Karma asked me as we were walking to class.
My face felt a little hot as I quickly nodded. "W-where too?" I questioned.
"Maybe the park, or ice cream, I don't know; something"
I smiled a little before we were all instructed to take our seats.
I'm not exactly aware of what my feelings toward Karma are. I know that I enjoy his company, and I don't see him the way everyone else does, I don't get why people call him a physco...or the devil...Maybe I'm just use to him so much...that I don't see it? ...Even my mom says it...Could I truly be blind to who he really is? Or am I the only one with clear vision?
"Kayano?...Is Kayano not in? She must be sick." Koro-sensei sighed.
I glanced across at Kayanos seat. It just made me pain even more.
~flashback to when Kayano was at Nagisas~
"Hey Nagisa..."
"Y-yeah?"
"If someone asked you out on a date...what would you say?"
"Depends on the person...I guess"
"What if a cute girl asked you?"
"I'd have to say 'I appreciate it but no, I think I might already like someone else."
"W-wait! W-who do you like Nagisa?!"
"Uh...well I'm not exactly sure if I like him...but I wouldn't rule it out..."
"Him...? Are you talking about Karma?!"
I jumped a little at how mad her face looked. "That mentally unstable idiot? You like him?"
"I-I said I don't know! And don't call him those names."
"..fine...I'm sorry..."
Shortly after she left.
~back to present~
I came back to reality and began reading my book wich was under my desk.
(Karmas pov)
Moldy-jello head isn't in today? I laughed a little in my head. I wonder why.
I glanced over at Nagisa, he was reading a book with a slight sad expression.
I knew it...He'd feel sad if Kayano wasn't at school.
He must've really caught feelings for her. Now that I think about it...what was that smile earliar? I've never seen it before...its was bursting at the seams with honesty...or maybe something else...
That bruise on his cheek...walked into a door my ass...I wonder what happened...
The day wizzed past like crazy, almost like someone hit the 'speed forward' button. Seriously Author? A speed forward button? God.
"Karma~" Nagisa was leaning on my desk with a pout.
"O-oh sorry, I must've lost track! So Nagisa, where do you want to go?"
"Hmm." He suddenly smiled. "Let's go get Ice cream first! And then...go to the park."
I smiled at his smiling face, as we began making our way to the ice cream place.
School finished at about sunset, and it's normally dark by the time I get home. So I'm a little worried about how Nagisas mom will react when he comes home late.
"Karma! You want strawberry right?"
"Yeah."
"What should I get? Hmm...Bannana? Maybe bubblegum? Chocolate?..."
I watched the blueberry mumble to himself. I giggled a little earning his attention.
"What's so funny?" He asked pouting.
The lady came up to us, and asked us for our order.
Nagisa looked a little doubtful and didn't know what to choose.
"What can I get you?"
His face went a little red because he didn't know what to say.
"One strawberry and One blueberry please." I said.
The lady nodded, as Nagisa starred up at me. I smirked a little handing the lady ¥18040 ($20 or £4)
We sat down with our Ice creams as Nagisa starred at me.
"Are you mad?" I asked grazing my tounge across my ice cream.
"No...just...suprised..." He pouted glancing down at his ice cream.
"Do you not like Blueberry?"
"That's not it...its just...How did you know Blueberrys were my favourite? I've never told you."
He looked at the ground with a red face. My face also tinted a slight bit.
"Well...I just thought for a moment...and..."
He giggled a little licking the ice cream.
"Thank you Karma!!"
I smiled gentlely. "Your welcome."
It was dark once we got to the park, but the way the moon shon of the puddles left by the earliar weather, made for a nice feel.
"Look! The moon! It looks blue!!!"
"The moons white dummy"
"No I swear it looks blue!" He began climbing one of those climbing frame things, and stood on the very top.
"N-nagisa! Be careful up there!!" I yelled wanting him to come down.
"See, it's blue." He turned and faced me with a smile.
"Be careful...you might fall..."
I heard him giggle a little.
"I wouldn't mind if I fell he said."
I looked up confused by his words.
"Because I know that no matter where I fall from, no matter how high, Karma will always catch me" He leaned forward.
I opened my arms and caught him, sending us both to the ground.
"See!! You'll always catch me!!" He looked directly into my eyes, his blue shining like saphire, my gold glimmering.
This would've been the perfect moment if our mouths just drifted forward into a kiss- but they didn't.
Instead we started hearing sirens. Alot of sirens.
Nagisa quickly got up and started running toward the sound. I quickly followed him as we found 4 police cars and 2 ambulances surrounding Kayanos home.
We also saw a crying Kurahashi and Okano being comforted by female police officers.
Nagisa ran to them.
"W-what happened?" Nagisa said shakily. I was now standing with him as he was shaking more and more.
"K-kaede...She...s-shes..."
Then we saw a wheeling hospital bed wheel past, it had a white blanket covering her body, and a white cloth covering her face.
"K-kayano..." Nagisa started wobbling, eventually flopping onto me, hugging his arms arms around me. I jumped a little.
"K-karma...c-can we go now..." He said muffled by my shirt and his tears.
I grabbed his hand, and started leading his way home.
As he sniffled into his sleeve, nobody saw the grin that had spread itself across my face. Nobody could see my eyes glowing a dangerous red. And nobody saw that they just spoke to the murderer of one of their dearest friends.
And I intend to keep it that way.
Potatao-potato--potato farm!
I need mental help 😂😂
