To Zelena, nothing in the world comes close to opiates. A good ES 7.5 Vicodin? Fuck. But honestly, the best drug that Zelena has ever had, in her opinion. Coke. She tried it once, which gave her the high of her life, but then someone she used to snort it with overdosed, and she decided to stay away from it. But she's longed for the feeling of being high like that again. Nothing on planet earth came close to classic cocaine in her mind.

Except for Nate.

Nate is a close second. And then to Zelena, what would be better? Nate and cocaine, but she can't do both because Nate won't have her. So, for now, she's choosing Nate.

"So you want to tell me what happened at the carnival when you had me on mute for so long?" Benjamin Lincoln asked his little sister when she came out of her room for dinner. Zelena didn't know how to tell Benjamin that she saw Nate physically assault Maddy.

"Sorry, that was by complete accident. Everything was okay. Carnival was fine. Mr. Jacobs won the best chili, again." Zelena said, which made Benjamin laugh.

"Of course he did. You know, I was surprised you asked me to pick you up. I figured you'd be leaving with Na...-" Zelena cut her brother off, not even wanting to hear his full name.

"...-I don't want to talk about it." She said.

"Look, I need to know. Are you and Nate in a relationship? I mean, I've seen it coming since you guys were fourteen, but..." Benjamin trailed off, and Zelena rolled her eyes.

"No, we're not," Zelena said.

"If you say so, Zee."

"Tyler, I'm so glad you're home, and I'm sorry I've sucked as a friend and haven't come to see you sooner." Zelena Lincoln said when Tyler let her into his apartment. She frowned when she saw the neck brace, and she felt horrible about it, and Tyler gave her a small smile.

"Hey, Zee... don't worry about it. I didn't want you to see me like this." Tyler said, and Zelena rolled her eyes before hugging him, light enough so that she didn't hurt him.

"Tyler... what happened? Did someone really rob you? Or did someone do this to you?" Zelena asked. Tyler frowned as he looked at her. He wanted to tell her that Nate Jacobs did this to him, but he didn't want to break her entire world.

"Zee...-" She cut him off.

"...-Don't lie to me, Tyler. What happened?" She asked.

"Remember how you told me I was involved in high school drama because I fucked that crazy chick in the pool?" He asked, and Zelena's eyes widened.

"Maddy did this? Honestly, I didn't think she had it in her." Zelena said.

"No... no, Zee. Not the girl herself." Tyler said.

"Tyler, tell me... who put you in the hospital?" I asked.

"Zee... I don't think you're ready to hear it." He said, and she rolled her eyes; she always hated when Benjamin wouldn't tell her things because he didn't think she'd be able to 'handle' hearing it.

"Tyler, tell me. Who did it? We need to press charges." She said.

"It was Nate, Zelena... okay, it was Nate." He said, and Zelena's eyes widened as she immediately felt her stomach drop. At first, she would never believe that Nate would do something like this, but after seeing how he choked Maddy last night, she knew Tyler wouldn't lie about it.

"Nate... like... m...-my Nate?" She asked, and Nate frowned; he would've nodded his head if he could, but his frown was answer enough for Zelena.

"Zee..." He said because he could see her shaking, and she immediately sat down on the couch and ran her fingers back through her hair.

"Oh god..."

Zelena was still reeling from her visit with Tyler when she got home. She wanted so badly to pop some pill just to put her in a daze and forget this whole thing was happening, but she knew Benjamin wouldn't have any medication laying around that she could quickly get access to, and she knew going to Fez was not an option anymore after the way she treated him.

Which she felt horrible about.

As she was about to return to her room, she heard a knock on the door and Benjamin wasn't home, so she couldn't make him get it. When she walked to the door, she heard the knock again. "Okay, I'm coming!" She exclaimed, walking to the door. She looked out of the peephole to see who it was, and her stomach dropped seeing Nate. When she opened the door, he didn't look happy.

"Where the fuck have you been, Zee?" He asked, walking inside the house, and Zelena sighed. He was in a mood. Maddy or someone must've pissed him off.

"I've been home... uh sure, come in with an attitude, of course." She said as she closed the door behind her.

"This isn't funny, Zelena. You didn't text me when you got home from the carnival like you said you would, and you haven't been answering your phone. Are you ignoring me?" Nate asked.

"I'm ignoring everyone." She said, and Nate rolled his eyes.

"That's not funny. I was worried about you, Zee." He said.

"Why? Why does everyone feel the need to fucking worry about me! Did you think I was doing drugs or something?" She snapped.

"Were you?" He asked.

"Fuck you, Nate. Get out of my house." She said, rolling her eyes, and Nate took a deep breath.

"Zelena, just tell me what the fuck I did wrong!" Nate snapped back, and Zelena was trying not to let her anger boil over, but since Nate asked for what he did wrong.

She was going to give it to him.

"You beat the shit out of Tyler! And for what? Because he slept with Maddy? She orchestrated that to make you jealous, and you beat Tyler to within an inch of his life, and then you lied to me. Asking me what happened to him like you didn't know. What the actual fuck is wrong with you?" Zelena snapped.

"Zelena, let me explain. He rape...-" She cut him off.

"...-Shut the fuck up, Nate! He did not rape Maddy. She knew exactly what she was doing at McKay's party. It's the same toxic cycle with you two. You guys break up and then try to make each other jealous until you get back together. Tyler only got caught in the crossfires, but you going to his house and beating him nearly to death is unacceptable. Get out." She said.

"Zelena, just talk to me," Nate said.

"I don't have anything to say to you anymore." She said.

"Dammit, Zelena! Just let me fucking explain!" He snapped.

"And if I don't? What, are you going to beat the shit out of me too!" She yelled. Nate felt something in him snap, and he grabbed Zelena by her shoulders before slamming her into the wall.

"Why would you think I would ever hurt you, Zelena." Nate hissed in her ear. Zelena's eyes started to water as she sniffled from how tightly Nate held her down.

"You are hurting me, you asshole. Get off." She whimpered, pushing him away from her. As Zelena cowered away from Nate, it made him realize how he had scared her with his anger and violence, and his eyes immediately went soft.

"Holy shit, Zee... I'm...-" She cut him off.

"...-Leave, Nate. Please." She said, pushing him out of the door and slamming it behind him, and then she took a deep breath as tears streamed down her cheeks. She couldn't believe Nate had put his hands on her and hurt her.

Even though he was gone, she could still feel his hands wrapped around her shoulders, squeezing them tightly. She quickly ran into the bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet, where she found some of Benjamin's old medication. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she took out four pills. She went back to her bedroom and laid them down on her desk before crushing them up two at a time and sorting them into lines.

It only took her five minutes to snort everything with ease.
