What is DIPG?

Alright, so they're highly
aggressive and difficult
to treat tumors at base of the
brain [the pons]. DIPG can
kill a kid in less than 9 months.
DIPG stands for diffuse intrinsic
pontine glioma. Kids that get
it are typically between 4 and
11 years old. It's an agressive
tumor that interferes with
all bodily functions [movement, communication, eating,
drinking]. Some symptoms
are double vision, reduced eye movement, facial weakness/
asymmetry, arm/leg weakness.
And as it gets worse, she'll
have troubles with walking,
coordination, speech, chewing,
and swallowing.

breathing and heart beat,
which ultimately leads
to death.

averi's dipg was inspired by a little boy i know who was diagnosed in january. he's receiving treatments in mexico and it's currently looking pretty good. but before buddy, i had never heard of dipg. the little guy with green hair is buddy and i've known him since he was in diapers [he's now 8]. the guys were the hoco king nominees. buddy was the grand marshall for the hoco game on friday.
