It had been exactly two weeks since the assessment. Megan and Gladion had decided to date in secret, and so far no one had found out about it. Though, Lillie had noticed the positive change in their attitude, mostly with Gladion as he had been moping around ever since the break up. Don't get me wrong she couldn't be happier to see his mood improving, but as far as she knew nothing had happened to make him this way. Luke on the other hand knew exactly why Megan was glowing, but had no idea who the mystery person was. And he knew better than to ask about it, even if he had a hunch of who it might've been. Wink wink. He was just happy his little sister finally found someone that made her happy, especially considering what was happening with their family.
Speaking of which. Megan did manage to get the job she applied for, and had proven to be a reliable employee. But she was overworking herself, and everyone could tell. She had been living on two hours of sleep a day, which didn't do good for her health and energy. She had downed at least five energy drinks each dancing session, and one time Rose even caught her asleep in one of the dance studios. Even Sun and Hau picked up on her strange behaviour, and tried on many occasions to invite her to occasions that would get her to relax, but they were shot down with some bullshit excuse.
So yes, she was happy. But she was not taking care of herself. And only Luke and Gladion knew why.
It's not like they could do anything; Megan was too stubborn. It's not like they hadn't tried to talk to her either, but she was just too determined to help her mother. Gladion had continuously brought up giving her money, but each and every time he was declined.
Her friends didn't know what else to do, except keep her relaxed during class breaks. And that's exactly what they were doing.
"I seriously think you should take a day off..." Sun sighed as he looked down at the girl, who had her head resting on his lap, and ran his fingers through her hair. Megan removed her arm from over her eyes to gaze up at him with tired blue eyes.
"I'm fine, Sun." She smiled tiredly "It's just a bit of Insomnia..."
Gladion restrained himself from rolling his eyes. That was the excuse she was using now? What next, her brother had a baby and it was keeping the whole house up?
They were all in their little circle, and each of them were making sure their exhausted friend was comfortable. They didn't mind, but Megan couldn't help but feel like she was being a bother to them. She attempted to sit up.
"Ah, no!" Hau scolded and pushed her back down by the shoulders "Stay."
Megan pouted and crossed her arms "I'm not a dog..."
"He's right, you need to rest." Lillie spoke up, wagging her finger as if she was scolding a child. Or her mother "If you aren't going home then you need all the relaxation you can get right now."
"I said I was fine." Megan scoffed.
"You're really not." Rose scoffed back "You have eye bags, Megan."
The girl groaned, turning on Sun's lap so she was facing his stomach. The ravenette rolled his eyes and began petting her head again.
"If you don't want us to worry then take better care of yourself." He told her in a softer tone than the others "You're looking worse every day, and I'm pretty sure I saw you almost collapse during warm-up. I wish you'd tell us what's going on."
"I told you, it's--"
"You really think we're gonna believe that bullshit? Seriously, it's a different excuse each day. For example on Monday, you told Hau and me that you had to feed your new cat."
"Yeah, so?"
"You're allergic to cats."
"It would explain why I apparently look like shit."
"Megan."
Even Gladion flinched at his sudden change of tone. He stopped running his hand through Megan's hair, and instead slammed it on his thigh close to her face. She quickly sat up and stared at him with wide eyes, which of course made him realise his outburst. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"Listen, after class Hau and I are going to the park. You're coming with us." He told her, his eyes telling her not to argue with him.
But she did anyway...
"I can't, I have-- mmph!"
She was cut off as a hand covered her mouth, which she knew was Gladion's from the paleness and size. He had big hands.
"She'll go." He answered for her, side glaring at her before retracting his hand when feeling something slimy brush against it. She had just licked him.
"Excuse me, Frenchfry, since when do you decide what I do?" She growled.
Gladion groaned slightly and grabbed her arm, pulling both of them to their feet and dragging her away from the group "Come with me a sec."
You're not giving me a choice, jackass!
Megan glared at the back of his head, her heels dragging against the floor until they left the studio room. He let go and turned around, cutting her off when she was about to yell at him.
"I'm covering your work shift tonight."
Her eyes widened "What? No, you--"
"Don't even try. You're going with Sun and Hau, and you're going to relax. You aren't talking me out of this." he crossed his arms "Listen, Megan, I'm worried that you aren't taking care of yourself. You hardly get any sleep anymore, you're running on energy drinks which will make it even harder for you to rest, and you're worrying your friends by leaving them in the dark like this."
Megan's face softened slightly "I don't want to worry them..."
"Then don't give them a reason to and go with Sun and Hau, relax, and then go home and get a proper night's sleep." Gladion placed his hand on her shoulder "Let me worry about work."
"I can't ask you to be up all night!"
"Pfft, please." He smirked "I've had way worse. And besides, one night won't do to me what six has done to you. You need a break."
"Still... it's an 8 hour shift."
"Like I said. It's one night. Besides it's Friday, so I can catch up on sleep tomorrow and so can you."
Megan crossed her arms and grumbled, glancing away with a scowl. Gladion sighed and moved his hand up to her chin, turning her head back to him.
"Remember when I told you it hurts to see you suffering?"
She nodded slightly.
"Now is no exception. I don't want you to push yourself. You're a human, and you have limits. And plus, we're together now. You should really start depending on me more." He blushed slightly "So please, let me do this for you... and also allow you to help yourself."
Heat krept up her neck as she let out a tiny squeak. God dammit how can he put her under his spell so easily?! Even in her fatigue state her heart couldn't help but beat faster from his words and touch. After a moment of silence, she muttered out a response.
"Fine..."
Gladion let out a relieved breath and pressed his forehead against hers "Thank you."
He reached down to hold her hand, but she stopped him "We shouldn't be doing this stuff here. People may see us..." She murmured sadly.
Disappointed Gladion stepped away from her, giving a small nod and turning to the door "You're absolutely right..."
He glanced at her one last time, but there was a change in his eyes. They seemed rather... lustful.
"It's just hard... To keep my hands off you."
WHAFMGFREJDSODFJSERDFFGNRFJKSJFKGHNFHNBLGKFGNGKL?!
If Megan's face wasn't red before, it definitely was now...

"Megan? Helloooo, earth to shortstack?"
"WHA?!" Megan jumped after feeling a hand on her shoulder. Hau gave her a look of concern, as he was the one to snap her out of her thoughts.
"Are you okay? You've been spacing out ever since you and Gladion came back from talking." Sun asked with a thoughtful pout "Did something happen?"
Crap. Was I spacing out? I didn't even notice.
"Megan!"
ACK!
"OH! YUPPITY YUP, I'M FIT AS A FIDDLE!" She shrieked nervously, flailing her arms about like a crazy person. The boys exchanged glances, before shrugging.
"If you say so..."
Megan sighed and leaned back against a tree, staring up at the sunlight shining through the leaves. The breeze was soothing, or it would have been, if her mind wasn't racing right now...
It's just hard... To keep my hands off you.
She instantly pulled the hood of her cat hoodie up, hiding her extremely red face from the world as she thought about what Gladion had said. I mean, could you blame her? She had never seen that side of him before. She had no idea how to feel about it...
...
Maybe she was thinking too much into this. Maybe this was normal for relationships. She wouldn't know; Gladion was a lot of firsts with her. Her first crush. Her first kiss. Her first boyfriend...
Well damn
She really didn't know anything about relationships.
"Whatcha doing under there?"
Oh fuck.
She lifted her hood slightly to meet Sun's confused grey eyes. She smiled sheepishly "Oh you know, just trying to find my soul in the depths of emptiness... The norm."
"Clearly." The male raised an eyebrow "And... you're planning to do that under a cat hood."
"Um... nya~?"
.
.
.
"...Right, so. Hau and I thought about it, and we figured it would be best if we just went to your house so you can rest." Sun crossed his arms, as Hau came over to join the conversation.
"You're seriously spacing out, and plus your face is kinda red. We're worried you might pass out on us or something." He told her with a frown. An irk mark formed on the girl's forehead.
"Oh, come on! First you guys take me away from my jo- j-joyful anime marathons... and now you're dragging me back home?!"
"Yup." The boys popped.
"Why do you hate meeeeee?!"
"We don't."
Suddenly the boys were either side of her, linking arms with her and dragging her away from the tree.
"We do it because we love you."
Megan huffed, but instantly perked up by their next words.
"I heard Season 6 of Voltron's out~"
...
Holy Quiznack, it is!
"Well what're we waiting for?!" She slipped out of their grasp and grabbed their wrists "Let's go!"
---
"OMYGOOOOOOOOOD!!"
Sun and Hau sweatdropped as Megan continued to jump up and down on the bed, squealing and flailing her arms about over the ending of season 6.
"...She's been doing this for fifteen minutes..."
"I know."
"And she's still got more fangirling in there..."
"Apparently so."
They glanced at each other.
"So much for getting her to relax." Sun sighed in defeat.
"Yeah well at least she's happy, plus she's not stressing anymore." Hau shrugged.
"True... she does seem less out of it."
They looked back at their friend, who was now screaming into a pillow.
...
"We're good dads."
"Yeah we are!"

When Sun and Hau left Megan's energy seemed to disappear, and therefore fell face first into the warmth of her bed. It was then when she realised how tired she actually was, and was currently finding it hard to keep her eyelids open. The only thing keeping her awake was thinking about Gladion. She knew nothing about relationships; she'd never been in one before. However Gladion had Natalie, fake as she was, who he had been with for two years. She was pretty sure he at least partially knew what he was doing...
...I need advice. She thought to herself but from who?
She thought about her options. She couldn't ask Luke, he would just tease her. And she couldn't ask his girlfriend either since she didn't know her that well, and she wouldn't really know what to say anyway. Rose, being the only one in their friend group in an actual relationship would be preferable, but she was quite a snitch. If she asked her, everyone would know about Megan's secret relationship in no time. The 'asking for a friend' card wouldn't work with her either. Asking Sun wouldn't work either, he's had bad experiences with relationships *cough* H2-hoe *cough* and he was in denial of his feelings for Ein. Hau couldn't be asked, because he was going out with Lillie, unofficially, but still. And Lillie... she would get suspicious and ask who Megan was dating. That would be game over. And she definitely couldn't ask Gladion. He was the one she was seeing, and she didn't want to look like an idiot in front of him. That basically ruled out everybody she knew...
Wait...
Could she--
No, that wouldn't...
But she was the only person that didn't know who Gladion was, and was actually in a relationship. It was her final option... but would she really want to talk?
It seemed like she didn't have another choice... She would have to try and ask Laura.
