"Heather wonders when everything started to go wrong. What was the tipping point that sent her spiraling down, down, down into a pit of nothing — an abyss of darkness swallowing her whole? There are so many moments she could pinpoint, but they all blur into one. Was it the first time she heard her sister's voice? When she went to the party? When Peter made himself known in her life? She isn't sure...Can't decide. But there must have been that moment, right? Where something snapped and she fell? When the world decided that her life was just too easy? Heather thinks if she can recognize that moment, maybe she can start to climb again...From the darkness. Claw at the dirt around her, and drag herself back to the surface, back to reality.

But then, maybe, her reality was always like this, even before her sister and the party and him. Maybe this was one of those things that was just supposed to happen. Fate, or whatever. Yeah. That's it."
