Katherine's POV

"How dare he , this stupid human being , i hate him ughh." I snapped once Cara opened the door , i directly entered still cursing , i threw my bag on the couch , i turned to Cara , Her brows were furrowed probably not understanding what the fuck i am talking about , but i don't care , i have to let it out or i will explode.

"What did he mean haa ? You can go fuck him , that's what you want." I said Ashton's sentence mimicking his stupid voice making quotation marks with my fingers.

"He is referring to me as a whore , this ugly arrogant piece of shit , he mean i am easy., doesn't he ?" I let out a frustrated sigh and threw myself on the couch burring my face in the pillow.

I lifted my head up , Cara was still looking at me , confusion filling her face , " He thinks i am a whore , that jerk , i hate him , if i kissed him twice and slept with him that doesn't make me whore or easy , how dare he think of me like that , he deserve that hot coffee on his stupid face." At my words Cara's eyes stretched as wide as they can,then when i noticed what i said.

Shit , i threw the words in her face , i was planning on telling her eventually but not in this way !

Damn i just spit the words in her face..

"You.. You slept with him ?" She asked , here eyes wide , pointing a finger in my direction.

"U-umm it is not like you think.. i.. you know...i was kind of..you know.. drunk.. so umm i remember nothing." I stuttered trying to explain my point.

"You slept with him..and... you were..you were drunk.. when ?" She asked again as if not believing my words , the look on her face priceless , if this wasn't serious and i wasn't mad , i would've laughed at her expression already.

"Yesterday, when i left." I said with a low voice waiting for reaction.

"You stupid lazy ugly bitch , i was worried about you thinking something bad happened to you , and you were fucking.. you were having sex." She said stepping forward , her tone made me move backward.

Dammit , i am in a big trouble now..

"And you kissed him too? " She asked her eyes looking into mine and she looks ready to attack any minute now, i just nodded my head and mumbled "Twice." hoping she would not hear me.

"You were drunk too ?" She continued her investigation giving me suspicious looks.

I nodded my head an mumbled, "Just the first time."

Her eyes widened a bit , she pressed her lips in a thin line before asking again , "And the second time ?" , I just shook my head , the death glares she was sending me were scary , i have to tell her the truth about Ashton or she will kill me now.

"You little.." She was about to start shouting or maybe hitting me but i directly interrupted her, i wanted to explain everything first.

"Ashton is innocent." I said which made her look at me confused.

"What the f*ck , so you sleep with him and now he is innocent." She said giving me a murderous look , seriously this girl can turn into a scary creature sometimes , remind me not to mess with her.

"It is not like this , i will explain , i'll tell you what happened but don't say anything or interrupt me till i finish." I said and she took a while before nodding her head.

I started telling her from the moment i saw Ashton at the Club , the kiss , how i woke up next to him, about my outburst, how he told me the truth , how i fainted , how we kissed again and lastly about his jerky actions in the company and how i threw the coffee on his stupid hot face.

Cara didn't say anything while i was talking , i would just see her eyes widen at the mention of new things.

I looked at her waiting for a reaction , her face was white as chalk. Her eyes and her mouth were frozen wide open in an expression of stunned surprise, and although she was staring straight at me ,she appeared not to notice me at all.

I went beside her and waved my hand in front of her face to jerk her from her trance.

"So Ashton didn't kill Chase , and you kissed , then you slept with him , then you kissed again, then you threw the coffee on his face ?" She said her voice low , it was like she was trying to understand everything happened during this short period of time.

I nodded my head answering her many questions , i was still looking at her shocked expression still waiting for her to shout or say anything , i mean this is Cara , she can't go one minute without mumbling shit.

Suddenly i felt all the air leaving my lungs , because i was squeezed by the girl i call my best friend , she suddenly jumped and hugged me so tightly.

Wow , definitely not the reaction i was waiting for !

"Oh my god , i can't believe this !" She said her tone back to excited one.

What the hell is she talking about !

"You kissed someone , you are liking another guy , you are moving on , i am so happy." She continued hugging me more tightly.

I pushed her away , surprised by her words , "W-what ? W-what the .. what are you talking about ?".

"Oh my god , you don't know how long i waited for this , even if it is with that jerk , which i still hate by the way .. but the important thing is that you are moving on." She said not even bothering to answer my questions , she was just mumbling stupid shit about moving on.

And me liking Ashton , oh my god , did this girl lose her mind or what ?

"Are you crazy ? Who said i like him , oh my god , don't you say that ever again." I said annoyed by her stupid thoughts.

"Look Kat , i know you since i don't know how many years , and i know you don't go around kissing guys unless you like them , so don't go I-dont-like-him on me."

I think this girl also need hot coffee on her face !

"I don't like him , so stop this , and none of this will matter anymore , because i am leaving the job once we go back to LA , and i won't see his face ever again." I said and i was telling the truth.

I don't like that arrogant jerk , of course i don't , i can't like him..

Right ?

Anyway i wont see him after we return back , and when he knows the truth, he will not want to see me too.

Which reminds me , i have to see Caleb and tell him too , i hope he didn't do anything with the files i sent, i really hope so !

"Anyway now , you really threw the coffee on his face ?" She asked , and when she said it , i felt how wrong it was.

"Now when you said it , i feel bad about it."

Damn it , the coffee was hot , what if it burned his skin !

Well , let him burn in hell , why are you caring anyway..

It is just i've done enough to him , i don't want to hurt him anymore. Now i feel like i have to go and apologize.

Don't you dare apologize or i will kick you ass..

"He is so going to kill you." Cara said jerking me from the debate i am having with my stupid big-mouthed mind.

"I know." I said thinking about the many ways Ashton can kill me when he is going to see me tonight.

"Okay stop talking about this , i need to do something now." I said trying to block that though for the time being , "Is Caleb still here , or he went back to LA ? " I said to Cara ,and i couldn't help but notice the change in her expression at the mention of Caleb's name.

"I don't know." She said with a blank tone.

I still feel bad about what happened before , Cara deserves the best , i hope she will find a guy soon that can make her forget the whole Caleb thing.

I opened Cara's phone and took his number , copying it to my phone i dialed it hoping he is still here.

"Hello." He answered after the third ring.

"Hey Caleb." I said biting my lip afraid he may hang up on me , since the last time i saw him , things didn't go so well..

"Katherine ?" He asked probably not recognizing my number.

"Yeah."

"From whom you are calling me ?" He asked , "It's my new number , i kind of lost my phone so yeah.." I said feeling awkward talking with Caleb.

I hate that our friendship had reached this stage, i miss how we used to be before..

"Oh okay." He said back, "Anyway , are you still here or you went back to LA ?" I asked praying inside he will say yes.

"Yeah ,i am still here." He answered, and i was relieved, i have to see him today.

"Can we meet today ?" He won't say no , right ?

"Actually i am busy and.." He started but i directly interrupted him , "It is really important , please."

He would always say , he is never busy when it comes to me, and now look he doesn't even want to see me..

"Okay, i am going home now , i'll be there in about thirty minutes."

"Okay great i am coming, see you" I said finally glad he accepted to see me , now i can tell him everything , and hopefully he will stop being mad at me.

"See you." He said and with that we hanged up .

"You know it is really good to have you as a friend , because whenever something wrong happens in my life , i just have to look at yours." Cara said once i finished my call with Caleb.

"Thanks for the support." I said sarcastically before taking my bag and heading toward the door , "Tell me if Ashton kills you." Cara said mockingly.

"So funny." I gave her one of my glares before getting out and climbing into the car.

I arrived to Caleb's place thirty minutes later , i took a deep breath before knocking.

"Hey." I said with a smile when he opened the door.

"Hey." he said back with a small fake smile, "Come in." he stepped aside giving me space to enter.

I went inside , my eyes wandered around , everything is still the same as two years ago , the walls , the furniture, the color , everything is the same.

I walked toward the living room with Caleb walking behind me , i sat on the couch and he seated himself on the one facing me.

"How are you ?" I asked looking at his face , i can see how it is drained of color , and the bags under his eyes proving he wasn't getting much of sleeping lately.

"Great !" He said ,his face was drained with a gaunt expressionless stare, "You ?"

"I am fine."

No i am not..

"So why you wanted to see me ?" He asked as if he want me to finish talking and leave.

"Are you going to stay acting like this with me ?" I asked sick of the way he is treating me , as if i am a stranger.

"I think i made it clear that i don't want to talk with you unless you go back to the Katherine i used to know." He said with blank tone.

"Don't worry , i am quitting once we go back to LA." I said back with the same tone, he is making of this a big problem for no reason.

"Good , so finally you came back to your sense." He said , his coldness making me more angry, "You weren't supposed to start working from the first place." And with this he was right.

"Now i am going to finish this on my own." He said , and i can sense bitterness in his voice.

"No Caleb , that is why i wanted to talk with you , you have to stop all this, you have to stop all this revenge thing.." I wasn't able to continue because he directly interrupted me , "What the hell are you talking about ?" His snapped angrily.

"Listen to me , Ashton is innocent , he didn't kill Chase , it was an accident , he didn't kill him." I said trying to make him understand , but with every word , he was getting angrier , i can see it in his eyes.

"Have you lost your mind Katherine !" He snapped standing up , he ran his hand in his hair , "I expected everything ... everything, but this , you are defending him ! What is happening to you , what about everything you said , what about destroying him and making him pay." With every word his voice was raising, full with anger and rage... anger toward me.

"Caleb please just listen , i am not defending him , he is innocent , he didn't kill him , the brake of the car wasn't working , it was an accident, you have to stop working against him." I said trying to convince him , but with no use.

"STOP IT ! I don't want to hear any word about this , you just stayed few days with him ,and now you are on his side, i told you i wont rest until i destroy him, i wont stop until i see him losing everything he own." his eyes flashed with indigence and anger,that i can't recognize this man in front of me as Caleb anymore.

"You are taking this too far , he doesn't deserve it , he already blames himself , please tell me you didn't do anything yet with the files i sent, please." I said trying to kick some sense into him.

"You can say i just sent them to Jackson Fletcher." he said wearing a smile as if confident by his actions.

At his words , my stomach started making danger flips that i felt like throwing up, Jackson Fletcher is Ashton's rival competitor in the business field , they are always trying to get each others deals.

"No Caleb , you have to stop this please , cancel it , do anything , if Jackson get them this will be a big loss for the company. " I said pleading him , i can't break Ashton more , he did nothing to lose the thing he cares the most about , his company..

"I want him to lose , and i told you i wont stop , i don't know how he manipulated you but the thing that i do know, and i am sure about is that he is a killer ,and he killed my friend." He wasn't believing me and he already sent the files , there is nothing i can do now.

"He didn't kill him ,and if Chase was here he wont accept you doing all this, punishing an innocent guy for things he didn't do." I was still trying , maybe he will believe me.

"But he is not here , because Ashton killed him." He said and i was to respond again, but my phone started ringing , i took it from my pocket , my eyes widened when i saw 'Mr.Jerk' on my phone's screen.

Why he is calling me ?

I have to answer , but of course not in front of Caleb.

"I have to take this , excuse me." I said and went to the other room ,taking a deep breath i clicked on the answer button , "Hello." I said with a low voice.

"Where are you ?" he said blankly.

"Why ?" I asked , i don't want him to know that i am here.

"I am going to my grandma's house , if you still want to go." He said and it is weird he is acting normally after i threw coffee on his face , i though he is calling to shout at me or something.

"U-mm yeah i am coming." I said confused by his normal conversation.

"Do you want me to pick you up ? " Okay someone pinch me , who is this man and where is Ashton ?

"No i am on my way." I lied , because for sure i don't want him to come to Caleb's place.

"Okay." he said and with that we hanged up , i stared at my phone for a while, this man never stops surprising me with his weird actions.

Bipolar..

I shook my head and went back to the living room , Caleb was typing something on his phone , he closed it once he saw me.

I didn't bother to say anything , i grabbed my bag and started walking toward the door, "If you still care about me , even a little , you would stop this thing." I said before opening door.

"I wont stop." I heard him saying, "Then you made it clear that you don't care anymore." I shook my head unsatisfied by how things turned between us , "Bye Caleb." I said closing the door behind me, knowing for sure now that nothing will go back to how it used to be again..

I took a deep breath before placing my card and opening the door , i wasn't ready to face him yet , should i apologize ? I mean what he said hurt me but i wasn't supposed to do that..

Damn it , why i can't think wisely before acting..

I was directly met with Ashton's back , he was sitting on the couch facing me , his laptop on his lap, he was writing an email or something, aren't we going ?

Did he call me so i can come and he can kill me now !

Katherine stop being so stupid..

"I Just knew a storm is coming , so will go in the morning , it is not safe to drive now." He said without looking at my side.

I mumbled a low "Okay." I was still having a debate with myself if i should apologize or not..

Should I ?

It was kind of immature doing that , i think i have to..

With a determined look , i started walking toward him , but once i was about to sit beside him , he directly stood up , took his laptop and went toward his room , still not glancing at my side.

He is angry at me , of course he is..

With a frustrated sigh i went to my room , I changed my clothes and then laid on the bed , my mind took me back to what Caleb said , he sent the files , and it wont take long till Ashton is going to know , this is going to put the company in a big debt..

If he is not killing me for throwing the coffee on his face , he will definitely will when he discovers the truth..

"Ahhhh." I growled and buried my face in the pillow thinking about my miserable life.

It is almost midnight , and i am not sleepy and for unknown reason i am craving a chocolate cake now, should i go bake a one , i mean there is a kitchen here, and i am not in the mood to go out at the middle of the night and Ashton is in his room , if i didn't do much noise he won't notice.

I went toward the kitchen walking slowly making sure Ashton wont hear me , i checked the drawers and found most of the ingredients needed, a satisfied smile made its way to my lips , finally the first good thing to happen today.

I started mixing the ingredients but my stupid mind wont stop thinking of that jerk in the next room , i cant do anything without him crossing my mind , this guilty feeling is killing me ,I have to apologize , i am going to apologize , it is now or never.

I placed the spoon in the bowl and ran my hand in my hair removing it from my face and with a frustrated sigh i went toward his room , i knocked on the door ; instantly i heard footsteps coming closer and with that my stomach started making many flips , i started playing with the hem of my shirt nervously, thinking of the ways i am going to apologize.

He opened the door , my eyes directly met his , And all the ideas of how to start "I'm sorry" speech left my mind , my eyes traveled to his neck and at the sight my eyes widened and a gasp escaped my lips, i felt that all the oxygen was knocked off my lungs , there was a big red mark on his neck and on the low corner of his chin.

Oh my god ! I did this to him , the coffee was hot that it burned his skin, and he didn't even shout at me..

"Oh my god ! I did this to you , i am sorry , i really am , i wasn't thinking.."

"Katherine , there is something on your cheek." He said interrupting me, damn i am trying to apologize here , forget about my cheek !

I rubbed my cheek , " I really didn't mean to hurt you, i forget it was hot but your words made me.."

"Kat.." i directly interrupted him , "Seriously , believe me , i am sorry , shout at me or throw hot water on me , really i .." I was mumbling many sentences , i was feeling really bad.

"Kathe..." He was trying to say but i interrupted him again , "You are not going to forgive me ,are you ? , Oh my god , i am so bad." I said rubbing my forehead , "What should i do ? Does it hurt you ? " I was panicking unable to control my rambling.

"Katherine listen.." He was about to say something but for some reason my mouth wont stop talking , " Did you put a cream on it ? Should i go get a one ? Oh sh*t what have i done.." I ran my hand in my hair nervously.

My rambling of words stopped when suddenly i heard Ashton laughing , i looked at him shocked , he was laughing so hard , it is the first time i ever see him laughing , really laughing ..

He would chuckle sometimes , but laughing never , and now seeing him laughing i froze in my place and for a moment i forget everything , it was like i can only hear his laughter voice , i stared at his eyes , they had this beautiful sparkle in them and his face was relaxed not hard and tense as usual .

A smile made its way to my lips just by seeing him like this , i must look like a total creep just standing over here and staring at Ashton with a smile on my face, but i don't care..

I waited so long to hear this laugh , and i would wait longer to hear it again.. Its rhythm makes you want to laugh too even without knowing the reason behind it..

His laughter died and i couldn't help but miss its voice, a small smile was on his lips as he was looking at me with amused eyes, he took his phone from his pocket and then i heard a click sound ,that is when i noticed he took a picture of me.

What the actual hell ?

"Heyy , why you took..." I was about to protest but he directly turned his phone so i can see the picture , my eyed widened at the picture in front of me ,"Oh my god !" , there is flour covering all my face and hair , my eyes traveled to my hand and they were also covered with a flour, Damn it i was running my hand all over my face , i was too busy trying to apologize that i didn't notice that my hands were covered with flour..

And he was enjoying it.. How dare he laugh at me ?

Ugh ! My life can't get any worse , can it ?

My face lit in embarrassment , i directly rushed toward the bathroom , i looked again in the mirror to see the mess i've done..

He is right , i am so clumsy !

Regardless this embarrassing situation , i can't manage to remove his laughter voice from my head and the way his blue eyes twinkled..

Another smile crept its way to my lips..

I was wrong before , hearing his laughter is the first good thing to happen today..
