He always misses his mom, and wants to live up to her legacy. His father, Greg, is a rockstar who met Rose at his concerts, and they always hung out until she gave up her life to have Steven. That is why she is not there. A lot of people think that she also could have taken form in Lion because all of her stuff is in it.
