Chapter 6 "Canes to Canes"
Inside a room that is similarly look like laboratory, Prince Eyt arranged new poisons, he just brought, in separated bottles. Although he is a living antidote, he couldn’t cure toxin unless he came familiar with it. This same goes how he heals major or minor injuries which he also experienced beforehand. This quiet Prince holds a double-edge power – Hurt and Heal.
“You have bitten by what kind of snake?” he asked while opening a box full of snakes.
“It’s black with two red lines on the top of its head,” Prince Shua replied.
Searching for it, he picked up the same snake as if it’s a child play. Without changing his calm expression, he uttered, “This must be it.”
“So you were you collecting different kind of snakes in case something like this would happen?” Prince Shua chuckled.
“Yup,” his short replied. He let the venomous snake bit his leg the way how Joshua was bitten and in pain, he winced a bit. “This snake is very poisonous,” Eyt commented after he feels the sudden numbness of his body. When he finished analyzing the poison, a green ominous light surrounded on his physique that healed him in an instant. Then, he got a golden knife and killed the snake with a swift sway.
“If the twelve princes got bitten by different snakes, are you going to let twelve snakes bite you for multiple times?” Prince Shua teased, following Eyt’s approach towards him.
“Nope,” Prince Eyt responded. He put his hand onto Joshua’s wound and it healed. “I’m only kind to you.”
Flaunting a grin, Shua continued with another topic, “Princess Soleil wasn’t poisoned by my blood. When the snake bit me, she sucked my blood; maybe to get the poison out. After seconds, the snake died but Soleil didn’t. I think she isn’t just a human.”
Prince Eyt rubbed his chin before meeting his gaze. “Are you saying that Soleil is a Deces (Royal blood)?” he flung a question.
Remaining wordless for a while, Prince Shua threw a sigh. “No. Her eyes are black. There are no Deces whose eyes are black. If she isn’t just a normal human or a cefru on this land, then…” Breathing out for a second, he uttered in slow pace, “She is a Canes.”
Prince Eyt got surprised by his statement. Never did he think that he’ll meet a woman Canes in mere future. No one did.
Years ago, the kingdom’s former king, King Nabuco, eliminated the Canes clan because he got afraid by their powers which can exceed or threatened the Deces blood.
“If ever she’s a Canes, all of the princes including me, will try our best to get her.” Shua dropped his gaze then diverted it back to him. “Among us, you and Wonu won’t let this chance slide by.”
That’s right. Marrying Soleil will benefit Eyt and Wonu since they are both half Deces and half Canes. In fact, it was Eyt’s wish to marry a Canes so that their future offspring will revive their clan.
“Do you want me to check if she’s a Canes?” Eyt inquired.
Prince Shua opened his mouth with a little rise of his lips. “Yeah. I actually came here for that”
Prince Eyt soon asked back with an unusual nervous voice. “But it’s dangerous. Once I kissed her, it’s over.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll barge in before it happens,” Shua reassured as he placed his hand onto his shoulder.
With that, Prince Eyt wore his robe and dashed towards Princess Soleil’s room. He was biting his lip firmly as he is unable to knock on her door, especially when the guards are intently watching at him. “C-Can you leave the two of us alone for a minute?” Prince Eyt asked those two guards. Guards looked at each other with a nod. Well, among the 13 princes, Prince Eyt is the least trouble maker.
No further explanation needed, the guard politely responded to his request. “Yes your highness. Just call us if you need something.” Then they left him alone while standing in front of the door.
‘Why am I getting nervous over this?’ Having this thought on his mind, he fetched a sigh. ‘Maybe I am afraid to get disappointed if Shua is wrong.’ He then displayed a look of braveness. Slowly raising his hand, he knocked on the door.
“Tok tok tok~”
The time before the door opened feels very slow-mo. Soon after Soleil opened the door, she saw this prince with green bandana around his forehead. His hair is black but has red color at every tip of strands. His eyes are rounded with no lid and his pupils are dark brown. His nose isn’t too pointed; it made him looks cute, as well as his small face. What caught her interest were his long earrings made with gold and ruby. Also, the way he dresses looks different from the other princes she had met. Prince Minghao wears waistcoat that matches the color of his bandana.
“Who…are you?” are the words she wanted to blurt out but she did not. Soleil remembered how Prince Cheol went in ranged after she mistakenly called him ‘Prince Chuckie’. Playing safe, she greeted him an awkward, “Hello.”
“I am prince Eyt. I came here because I wanted to confirm something,” he said.
Forget about his words, Soleil feels a throbbing pain inside her chest just when she meets his eyes. She found it really weird, not knowing that Prince Eyt actually feels the same way. They just stared at each other in an odd way, as if it were a silent argument.
The next thing she knows, he slammed his lips to her and nearly knocked all wind from her lungs. Soleil hardly has a moment to react before he pushed her inside her room and pressed his tongue to the seam of her lips. At her grant of access, she let him delved inside her mouth. Her arms reached up and tangled around his neck. Moaning in the contact of their bodies, he kissed her very sloppy that she had inhaled sharply. Her limp body began to tremble uncontrollably as she urged herself to push him away, but couldn’t.
When they pulled back, both are catching their heavy breaths.
“Y-You are definitely a Canes,” Eyt murmured.
Soleil is all dizzy. She couldn’t find the right words to explain why she kissed him back and why did she crazily love his touch.
“The fact that we kissed like that means we are sexually attracted to each other,” Prince Eyt explained. “Canes are naturally attracted to one another.” With his hormones took him over, he tilted his head in a plan of kissing her neck. However…
“Good thing I came here before you push her on the bed,” Prince Shua interrupted.
To be continued…
