I sat there, mesmerized. Shaking, I felt a tear run down my cheek. I'm not even sad just.... confused. Pressing my hands against the concrete, I stood up slowly and walked towards the door, leaning on my shoulder on the frame to absorb what just happened. I closed my eyes and sighed, then stood back up and began my journey back up the stairs and to the main gate. "Could you let me out please?" I said as I gave a light push at the door. The guard grunted and hesitantly moved his foot, letting me stumble out of the dungeon. "Thanks." I mumbled.

"What were you doing down there girlie?" He asked; arms crossed and leaning back against his chair.

"I was just taking a walk..."  I didn't bother turning around while speaking to him, though I could feel his eyes watching me in suspicion and curiosity. "It's just depressing down there." And with that I walked back through the halls , just walking and thinking.

I never would have thought that I would be betrayed by The Mad Hatter. Of all people; I am broken by the person whom I trusted in all my dreams. He would make me gifts when I visited as a child.....

I opened the door and stepped into my Wonderland once again. "Hatter?" I whisper yelled. "Are you near?" Then I saw his hat floating in air. I giggled. "Hater you're being silly again, aren't you?" I tilted my head and felt my pigtails bounce against my shoulders. There was a small meow, you could hear a small gust of wind as the hat was launched into the air, and Hatter lunged out to catch it. He did of course, but he stumbled and almost fell, then stopped, turned my way, and gave me a huge smile. I giggled and ran his way. I jumped to give him a hug and he spun me around. Then he set me down, and put his hat on me. He only did that to me. I blushed a little bit as the hat fell over my little eyes and past my little nose. He laughed and picked up the hat, setting the front rim on the edge of my hairline, leaving the back to balance itself on my small head. Then there was another gust of wind as Cheshire appeared on his shoulder, carrying Mouse (that was her name when I was little; I couldn't pronounce her real name) kneeled down between his ears. "Hello..... my dear....." He said as he turned upside down, sending mouse tumbling off his head and into Hatter's hand which seemed to come out of no where to catch her. "We only have... a few hours.... my dear........ Let's make the most of it... shall we?" Cheshire showed me his amazingly white teeth that always made me smile. I spoke up, my little voice being the only thing heard. "Okay!"

I wish it could be like that again. But it's not. Things were so simple... but I guess they can't be now. Why was Hatter being so difficult? I thought he was helping me; he was with me from the very beginning and now he's just switching sides? I don't understand why or how he would just... ugh.

Ouch!!

With that I blocked  him out and continued to walk about, turning past the wall that got in my way. I started running. It felt like my heart was ripped out; he was like a second father to me-- always there, always protecting me. I never thought he'd be the one to drag me down I just can't--- No. I can't think about this anymore. I can't just keep running in self pity. That's not the Alice I know; but I don't plan to be that naive little girl anymore.

That little girl, is gone. Now, I have to finish what I started.

A/N: Ha-ha! Cliffhanger! So what will she become? A murderer? A psychopath? Or am I just pulling chains and she's exactly the same...? Naahh I wouldn't do that. There is gonna be a huge change in Alice's character. Though, I still haven't decided what side I want her on;
