Prologue
~Cameron's POV~

"Hi. I'm Cameron. That's not what I'm called though, not usually. People at school call me lots of things. Diva, attention seeker, the word for a female dog that I'm not going to repeat, but usually Alice. That's my condition. They think I make it up, but I don't. It's real. But try telling them that.

Let me explain first, then we'll see if you agree with them. Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, or AWS, is a condition where objects randomly change size in your mind. For example, the other day in math, the teacher's head got really small and my arm grew about a foot. It all goes back to normal after a few minutes, but there's really no trigger. It sucks.

Now, am I making this up?"

"Uhh..." the boy said. "No?"

I laughed. "That's right, you asked for my name, not my life story. How old are you?"

"I'm in your homeroom..."

"I said how old are you."

"Fifteen. You?"

"None of your business. What was your name again? Gerald?"

"No."

"Then what was it?"

"None of your business."

"Fine then, Gerald."

I walked away, flipping my hair in his face.

And that, people, is how you make a friend.

~Jaime's POV~

Well then. She didn't even know and she was that rude.

This is gonna suck.

See, I had an arm and a foot amputated last year. I moved here yesterday, and so far, no one knows. I'm used to the rude people, but when they don't even know?

Her life must really suck.

I think I'll be her friend.
