Alexis' POV

I managed to find food. Klaus had left a bag of baby food for Adrianna, which I am grateful for. Elijah is laying on a bed in Dwayne's old shack, tossing and turning restlessly. While Hayley watches Adrianna and I try to feed Elijah some water. "Drink this, Elijah" I tell him gently. He drinks a little, then starts to cough and gag. He's pale and sweaty and clearly miserable.

"Forgive me, please" Elijah says weakly.

"It's ok" I assure him.

"Remind me to annihilate your brother once you're healthy" Hayley tells him.

"Yes, remind me to remind you to get in line" he tells her.

"It doesn't help that the three of us have decided to shack up in a swamp either" she states. She goes outside and I pick up Adrianna.

"Mama" she says and I smile. Elijah starts to cough, Hayley immediately rushes back inside. Asking him i he was ok.

"I'm fine. Please, just... return to your reading" he tells her. Last night someone left a bible on the doorstep. It had a family tree in it and one of the people on it shared Hayley's birth date.

"I went through the whole thing. It's just a regular Bible. With an entry in a family tree that may or may not be me. But, you know, I've been a little busy worrying about you and helping Alexis with Adrianna" she tells him.

"Hayley, please. This fever will make me unstable. And once the hallucinations begin, I'll start to see things. You must leave me here, you to Alexis" he tells us.

"Yeah, not going to happen. In sickness and in health, remember" I remind him.

"I'm not leaving you like this either" Hayley adds. I sit beside Elijah on the bed. I put my hand on his forehead to gauge his temperature. When suddenly I'm transported into one of his memories. A naked dark skinned woman, is relaxing in a bathtub when Elijah enters the room.

"Celeste" he mutters as I'm brought back to the present. I notice Hayley on his other side and had also touched his forehead. "Alexis, Hayley, I'm sorry. I thought you both were someone else" he tells us.

"Celeste. Whoever she was, she was smokin' hot" Hayley tells him. I give her a pointed look as I try to keep my composure. Not only was he hallucinating about another woman, he let Hayley into his head also.

"Did I let you enter my thoughts?" he asks shocked.

"You let us both in" I tell him.

"I'm not well. I should go. This is..." he starts to say.

"This is fine, Elijah. You're sick, we're taking care of you" Hayley tells him. I sense something and look at the window with Elijah.

"We're being watched" we state. Hayley walks outside to investigate who it was. "Alexis you should leave with Adrianna, I don't want her seeing me like this" Elijah tells me.

"No, you're sick" I state. Hayley returns. "Who was it?" I ask her.

"Same girl from earlier" she states.

"Can you take Adrianna outside for a while?" I ask her. She nods her head. She lead Adrianna outside, while I remain with Elijah. Dabbing his forehead with a wet clothe. When I'm pulled into another memory of his.

Celeste playfully throws her sponge at Elijah. But he catches it deftly, and she giggles at him. "Assister-moi, please, good sir" she says.

"No, I'm much happier taking in such a wondrous view. It's perfection" he tells her.

"Your brother is again up to no good. He's challenging the gentry to duels as though they have any chance of a fair fight" she states.

"I do grow weary of sacrificing my joy to temper my brother's mischief. Surely, you can cast a spell to put him in his place" he suggests. As he washes her leg.

"It would take a hundred witches to put him in his place. Besides, he only ever listens to you" Celeste states.

"Yes. He certainly needs a little discipline" Elijah states and kisses her foot. Before putting her leg down. "Perhaps a spanking of some kind is in order. I think I shall need some rehearsal. Come" he says with a seductive smile. He leans down and kisses her passionately.

I'm back in the present and I feel silent tears sliding down my face. "Alexis" Elijah says. "My mind is flooded with these torturous memories. You have to leave with Adrianna" he tells me.

"You only want me to leave, so that you can be alone with your memories of Celeste and Hayley" I snap. As I put the rag in the bucket of water. "Elijah, what happened to Celeste?" I ask him.

"She died, centuries ago" he mutters weakly. Great, so the last love of his life died and he obviously never stopped loving her. It was bad enough seeing him with Hayley, now this. I can't do this right now.

"I'm sorry Elijah, I can't be here. I'm sure Hayley will take care of you until you recover" I state and go outside. I go and pick up Adrianna.

"Alexis, are you ok?" Hayley asks me. No doubt noticing my tears.

"I gotta go, can you take care of Elijah for me?" I ask her.

"Of course" she tells me.

"Remember, he's my husband" I tell her before vamp running away. I go the the old house and notice Klaus not there. I frown in confusion and go to the abattoir instead. To see Klaus fighting about a hundred vampires. I covered Adriana's ears and have her face buried in my chest. I notice Rebekah watching with Marcel.

Marcel desperately rushes toward Klaus, but Rebekah holds him back. "No, take the coin" she tells him. I notice the large gold coin on the floor.

"What?" he asks her.

"He won't stop until everyone is dead. And he will kill you too. End this. Pick up the coin!" she says desperately.

"Enough!" Marcel shouts and the fighting stops. He picks up the coin.

"Well, well, well. The great Marcel, self-proclaimed king of New Orleans, bowing before me" Klaus says with a smirk. Marcel tosses the coin at him.

"There. I hereby pledge my allegiance to you. You have the keys to my kingdom. It's yours" Marcel tells him.

"What just happened?" I ask confused.

"Alexis" Klaus says and rushes over to me. "You've been crying" he says looking at my eyes.

"I'll live, answer my question" I tell him.

"I just took back my city and home" he states. "Welcome to our new home" he tells me. "I take it Elijah broke your heart more" he says.

"It'd be better if I showed you" I state. "May I?" I ask raising my hand. He nods and I place it on his cheek. Showing him the memory of today, before dropping my hand.

"I'm sorry, if I knew he'd hallucinate about her. I wouldn't of bite him and left you there" he states.

"No, he hurt you Klaus" I state. "I just, thought he loved me more then that" I say sadly.

"I'm gonna go get my things from the mansion later. Did you want to come?" he asks me.

"I can't see Elijah right now" I tell him. "Could you get mine and Adrianna's stuff?" I ask.

"Of course, and I'll be collecting Hayley along with her things also" he tells me. "I'll go ask Marcel to show to a room" he states and left to the balcony. After his talk with Marcel, he left and Marcel came down to me.

"I'm to show you to a room" he states.

"Thanks Marcel" I say and he leads me upstairs. "I trust there won't be anymore death here while my daughter is present" I state. He nods his head and we reached a bedroom with a queen size bed inside.

"I'll see that a crib is brought for your daughter" he tells me. I nod my head in thanks. "Bathroom through there and I'll have someone bring you some clothes, along with a blood bag" he states.

"Thank you" I say. He left and I had a shower. Giving Adrianna a clan also. I wrapped us both in a towel and returned to the bedroom. I saw clothes for us both, I dressed Adrianna then myself. I put her down for her nap and enjoyed the blood bag. Before deciding to nap myself as I was up all night tending to Elijah.
