Y/n's P.o.V

I grew up in the middle of New York with my mother. My father left when i was five after a big fight he had with her. I don't know if they were married or not but mom doesn't like talking about him. I can't really remember him, i hate it. As i was growing up my father's image was getting blurier in my mind. All the pictures of him had disappeared from the house and no one talked about him again. Mom had made sure no one around the neighbourhood will describe him to me so i will never find him. It was mean by her, i had to learn who that man was.

One day, my mom received a message from an unknown number asking if that person could be. The message filled me with confusion realizing later that that person may be father.

I tried hard to persuade her to let me go to Los Angeles and meet him but she was declining again and again. I packed my things getting angry until she realized that she was wrong all along.

In two weeks, the schools would end and summer would start. It was my chance to visit my father and spend time with him as a normal daughter. I couldn't wait, i could meet new kids, too.

The time went by and the day i had to say goodbye to my mom came. I got in the airplane and waved goodbye sighing excited. I was nervous, what if he won't like me? What if he sees me as a burden? What if he won't remember me? I was five and now fifteen and i have changed a lot. All those questions were haunting my mind as i was looking outside at the clouds and the blue sky. I was insecure imagining a father figure i never had. I was in need of recalling a single characteristic of him but i couldn't. Was he tall or short? What about his eyes, his hair? His attitude? Was he funny, was he taking good care of me? My thumb rubbed my chin. I don't even know his name, mom gave me her last name.

The plane landed in LA as i sucked a big breath leaving it behind. More questions started popping in my mind. How will i recognize my father between all those people? There were couples and kids. I was lost till i felt a hand on my shoulder turning around.

A man around his thirties was standing there smiling at me as i looked at him. He titled his head, his brownish hair moving.

"Excuse me young lady, are you Y/n L/n?" his lips moved as i nodded.

"Y/n? Oh how much you have grown up! It's me! Your dad!" my eyes shined like stars as i lost my patience hugging him tightly. He laughed spinning me around.

"Let's go home sweety." his arm moved around my waist as we started walking towards his car, his right hand holding my suitcase.

The ride to his house was peaceful but silent. His eyes were stuck on the road as mine were gazing outside. He shown to me his house and where my room was. After unpacking i rushed down not wanting to waste a second. I had four days to spend time with my father before returning back to NY.

"So, what do you want for dinner?" he patted the space beside him. "I don't really know. What do you like?" i sat down, my eyes on the comedy the tv was playing. "Well the last time i saw you you were in love with milk and fruits." he joked as i giggled. It's been ten year, hu? "How about pizza?" he grabbed his iPhone. "Sounds good. Extra special please!" i smiled as he rolled his eyes kissing my forehead going to the kitchen.

My phone vibrated as i took it off my jeans finding a message by my mom.
"How's dad, are you happy?" I let a small laugh using my thumbs to type back. "Yeah mom. He is a really nice guy, i like him." i smiled seeing my mom caring so much. "Where is he now?" the reply came quickly. "In the kitchen, ordering pizza. LA looks amazing mom, better than NY. Can't wait to explore it with dad tomorrow." i let one more smile take over my lips. "Oh you seem so happy! Remember, four days! No more no less. Goodnight sweety." i sighed hearing my dad's footsteps. "Night mom." I put my phone back in my pocket as dad sat down.

"Who were you texting?" he raised his eyebrow. "Oh just mom. She wanted to see if i am okay and yeah like that." he smiled a bit when the bell suddenly rang. "I'll go." dad stood up going to the door as i grabbed the remote control changing channels. Seconds later dad came back with the pizza letting it on the coffee table. I grabbed a slice eating a bit, it was for sure hot.
"Dad... Why you left mom?" he let a muffled sound looking at me. "I mean i know you two had a fight but why you left.. You didn't care about me?" i looked down anxious. "Of course i cared and still care about you sweety... I can't explain the reasons... Maybe when you grow up a bit more.." i nodded eating more. The discussion ended there.

After eating i felt sleepy. I snuggled besides my dad soon falling asleep. When i woke up in the morning i was in my bedroom wearing my pajamas. I looked around in awe before giggling. I dressed and ran downstairs in a rush. "Morning dad." i smiled as he let a plate full of pancakes in front of me kissing my head. "Morning sweety." he sat opposite me drinking coffee. "So what are the plans for today?" i pushed the fork in my mouth tasting the yummy pancakes. "I was thinking about a walk around LA, then go and buy some really nice things for my smart daughter and maybe some Starbucks?" he shrugged as i nodded finishing my breakfast. "But first i have to call mom, she gets worried easily. Where's my phone?" he bit his bottom lip giving me my phone. "It was on the table and some orange juice fell on it as i was pouring in the glass. Sorry sweety." i took it checking it. "Ugh... The battery and the SIM card seem damaged..." i scoffed angrily. "I am sorry love. I sent her a message saying that you are okay if that makes you better." i shook my head as he stood up. "Let's go y/n. You deserve some father and daughter time."

We did all the things he said, he bought me a laptop and a new phone. He told me this old thing i had would die sometime soon or later anyway. Plus i had to go back to NY to buy a new SIM card. Later, i took a coffee from Starbucks and he took one too as we were returning home. "Wow that was really fun!" i laughed sipping a bit from my coffee as he unlocked the house's main door. "I know, forgot how much i missed you little y/n..." he closed behind him the door as i sat on the sofa. "I'll go have a bath cause i am sweaty as hell. My laptop is in my bedroom, you can go and turn it on and order whatever you want for dinner y/n." i turned on the tv still drinking my coffee. "Kay dad." he smiled walking upstairs as i started heading towards his room.

When i got in i was left speechless. It was big with a king sized bed. It was clean and was i smelling... Vanilla? Well maybe he is a maniac with cleaning. I turned on his laptop whistling waiting for it to work fully when my eye caught a pair of jeans being on the bed. I raised my eyebrow opening the closet to put them in when something fell from the pocket. I got it confused finding out it was a passport. "Justin Roiland..." i whispered reading more information. Why would dad have a stranger's passport? I put the passport back in the pocket searching on the internet for him. "Justin Roiland... Thirty-seven... Ex-wife?" I narrowed my eyebrows. My eyes widened facing my mom's name. No, no something wasn't right. Maybe mom has married again before dad? I closed the window when i heard the water being turned off. I ordered Chinese before turning off the water and running down.

More questions and more questions. Should i ask dad? The food arrived and i paid with he money dad had left on the table. I let it on the coffee table. Dad came soon and we started eating in silence. I wasn't in the mood of talking. I ate and went to sleep pale lost in thoughts. The next morning i grabbed my new pc turning it on and opening skype. I called mom, i could hear... dad cooking downstairs. The camera opened as i faced my mom sitting on the sofa drinking black coffee as always. "Morning sweety, why you didn't answer the phone?"  i was left without words, i thought dad had sent her a message as he had said. "Yeah it broke down... That's why i called you using Skype. Dad got a new laptop. Mom.. What's dad's name?" i looked at her seriously as she left the mug on her wooden coffee table, weirded out by my question. "Uh Justin? What's wrong?" Justin, yes it might be a coincidence. I looked out, dad walking talking with someone right in front of our house. I lift my pc turning the camera showing dad to mom. "Mom, is the guy with the brownish hair dad?" i turned the camera back as her eyes widened shaking head no. "Mom, he came and took me from the airport. He knew my name, he said he is my father." my mom started freaking out grabbing her phone. "Sweety, this is NOT your father! I don't even know him!" she started dialing numbers. "I'll try calling the NY police, please beware sweety! Stay away from him!" the call ended as it was my time to freak out. I opened a new window searching about the Justin guy. "Ex-Wife... Y/m/n... Kids... Y/n Roiland..." i became anxious in seconds.

If that guy wasn't my father, then who was? And where is my real father?

A knock echoed in my bedroom as my... dad walked in. I started sweating as i clicked on a random link. "Hey, watcha doing sweet thing?" he smiled as i opened my mouth looking at my laptop's screen. "Just watching... uh.. Rick and Morty...?" i basically asked to myself. "Is that adult swim? Aren't you too little for such cartoon?" he raised his eyebrow. "Uh yeah i am you're right dad!" i laughed nervously turning off my laptop. "So today is the last day together...sadly... How about spending time here in the house together?" okay my sweating was getting worse as i nodded. "Breakfast's ready by the way!" he grinned leaving as i gulped. Sweet thing? Grinning? Hell to the no! I turned on the pc again searching for my real dad and not the creep that was selling lies to me. "Justin Roiland disappeared one week ago... Where the fuck are you..." i cursed having my head on my forehead. "I am going to the market for a bit little demon!" If i am a demon, then you are Satan. "Okay dad!" i screamed with a cheerful voice before seeing him getting in his car leaving. I ran downstairs. If i was a creep that wanted another guy's daughter, where would i hide him... What the heck did i just say... I turned my head facing a door that was probably heading to the basement. Maybe...? Who knew. It was locked, fuck. I looked around finding the key in a drawer in his bedroom. I unlocked the door heading downstairs. Nothing too unusual, no corpse. I was ready to leave when i stepped into a pool of... blood? I gulped finding and bloody steps following them. And that's when i screamed... finding my father's corpse. I put my hands over my lips. "Why you couldn't stay in your room?" i turned around facing him. He sighed holding a knife. "W-Who are you!?" i stepped back. "My name is Alex. Alex Hirsch. Justin was so happy to meet you after all those years but he didn't deserve it after abandoning you. But then, i always wanted a daughter. Couldn't really miss the opportunity love." he stepped closer to me. "S-Stay away!" i yelled scared. "I won't harm you. I am just making sure i'll have a daughter forever." he was sick. "You have i-issues!" i kicked him where the sun doesn's shine running upstairs finding his iPhone. I grabbed it quickly ready to run outside when something grabbed me by my hair. "Where are you going angel?" It was him, i knew very well his voice. "L-Let me go!" i struggled as he dragged me down the basement. I started screaming when i heard sirens. And before i knew policemen had filled the basement. Turns out, the opposite house was my real father's and policemen heard my screams. "I only wanted to fill your father's position." he whispered before be taken away. My eyes filled with tears as i was going to the police station waiting for my mother to come from NY. It's a five hours road.

I was living with a psycho that wasn't even my father. That Alex guy was playing all along so i can be happy.

But he killed a person to achieve it.

And he made one of the biggest mistakes.
