This chapter is based off of season 2 episode 10. So, Alec is scared that Magnus is dead but he finds him and is set somewhat at ease but when they go back to Magnus' apartment, things take a turn.

As soon as Clary said that Magnus was upstairs, the possibility of him being gone...dead increased.

"Where's Magnus?" the thought continued to bounce around within his mind. "Where is he? He...he can't be gone!"
Alec began to search all over but found no sign of him anywhere. Fear rose inside his chest, he was terrified. 

Alec raced outside, completely out of breath, from running around in search of his boyfriend, but he was mainly out of breath because he was having a panic attack. His hands were shaking wildly and his vision was beginning to swim but he shook it off and kept on looking for Magnus. He wasn't going to stop until he found him or collapsed.

He began to scan the outside, as shadowhunters slowly began to enter the  Institute.
"I can't find him" thought Alec.
His breathing, panting grew faster and louder now.

Suddenly he felt a hand grasp his arm. He slowly looked down at the hand but before he could see the hand, he was pulled around by the person holding his arm.

As he soon saw Magnus face, Alec wasted no time throwing himself into the warlock's arms. Alec squeezed tightly as he felt Magnus' arms around him. He sighed in relief.

Alec pressed his face down into Magnus' jacket and breathed in for a second. He then felt Magnus sliding his hands down, pulling slowly away so he could look at him. Alec pulled away and looked at Magnus' face, still panting slightly.
Alec left one of his hands linger on Magnus as he spoke about getting out and saving the warlock child Madzie.

Alec was so relieved that he was both safe and alive.
A smiled formed on his face but it soon fell.

"Magnus... I thought you...." Began Alec, Magnus nodded his head understanding him.
"Look...on every single mission that I've been on in my life, I've never felt that kind of fear before. Ever." Alec said and drew in a sharp breath and continued on.

"I...not knowing whether you were alive or dead." Alec said but paused as his breathing pick up again. But he had to finish what he was saying, he had to say it.
"I-I was...t-terrified."

Magnus slowly reached out and gently touched Alec's arm, his eyes soft and caring.
"So was I" Magnus said. Alec nodded his head and watched the sad smile form on his boyfriend's face. He was still breathing very quickly and he could see a glimpse of concern and worry in Magnus' eyes.

"Magnus I...." Alec said between gasps of breath, "I love you."

Magnus blinked for a second, shock at what he heard but he saw his pause made Alec's blue eyes widen with a sudden fear. Magnus relax and gave Alec's arm a slight squeeze and looked up at him. He smiled as his eyes glisten,
"I love you too." he said just then.

As soon as he said that Alec moved forward and pressed his lips against Magnus'.
Magnus could feel Alec shaking before him. Once he broke the kiss, he looked up at Alec, he had his eyes closed with his forehead pressed against his. Magnus smiled and went to hug Alec.
Alec gripping tightly onto his, he was still shaking, concerning Magnus of this.

He could feel Alec's warm breath against his neck, his hands holding tightly onto him as if afraid to let go, then Alec buried his head into his shoulder and inhaled sharply.

They remained in each others arms for a bit before Magnus pulled away and looked up at him. He reached up slowly and cupped Alec's cheek, gently rubbing his thumb on it. He sighed, still seeing worry in Alec's eyes.

"Let's go check on the others" said Magnus and Alec nodded silently. Alec then stepped forward and grabbed ahold of his hand and held tightly on it. Magnus looked down at their hands then back at Alec.

They headed inside for a bit but soon left to go back to Magnus' place.

It had been a few hours since everything that went down at the institute.

Magnus had made some dinner for the two of them but Alec claimed he couldn't eat, that he wasn't hungry.

Magnus had this pit feeling in the bottom of his stomach, he could still see worry in Alec's eyes and the slight shaking of his body, with unsteady breathing.

Magnus didn't want to press him about it, knowing full well that the Shadowhunter wasn't so great at expressing himself. He was very proud of him when he for the first time admitted to loving him. Magnus smiled at that thought and sat down beside Alec in silence.

Alec moved slightly closer towards him and laid his head gently onto Magnus shoulder and closed his eyes tightly shut. Magnus gazed up at him and sighed.

Magnus knew when he saw him for the first time tonight, outside the institute, that Alec was having a small panic attack. He was so worried about Alec and hated seeing him this way.
He could feel more weight being applied upon his shoulder and knew that Alec was exhausted from today's events.

He nudged him and Alec looked over at him and frowned slightly.
He smiled a bit seeing this and stood up, holding his hand out to Alec.

Alec looked up at him then to his hand and then back up at him. He slowly took Magnus' hand and allowed him to pull him to his feet. Magnus lead them to the bedroom and Alec tensed up and slightly without knowing pulled backwards.

Magnus looked over at him and saw a slight increase in the rise and fall of his chest. He turned to face him, to reassure him that they didn't have to do anything. That seemed to calm Alec down a bit but he was still hesitant about being in Magnus' bed.

They laid down on the bed next to one another, their hands in between them. Magnus watched Alec closely. Alec's eyes were focused on their hands together.
After a bit, Alec seemed to grow sleepy once more and laid his head gently onto Magnus shoulder.  He then looked up at Magnus, silently asking him if he was going to stay by his side. Magnus smiled and nodded his head 'yes', causing Alec to finally relax and drift off to sleep.

Magnus felt happy and closed his eyes and fell asleep beside his boyfriend.

In the middle of the night, Magnus was awaken by a scream. He sat up quickly in the dark room. He listened carefully and could hear the almost silent sobs coming from next to him.
He snapped his fingers causing the lights to come on. He blinked for a moment, adjusting to the light before looking over at his boyfriend.

Alec was laying on his side, with his hands twisted in the blankets that laid under him. Small beads of sweat were on his pale forehead. Magnus moved closer and laid a hand upon Alec's chest.
His breathing was erratic. Magnus inhaled sharply and began to shake him slightly, trying to wake him up.

Alec turned his head back and force, his eyes brows crunch up and the look of fear across his face.

"No...no." Alec whispered in his sleep.

"Shhh you're safe Alec" Magnus whispered to him.

"No...Magnus!" Alec shouted and shot up. His eyes blown wide, his chest rising and falling quickly. He brought up his shaking hands and ran them through his dark ebony hair.

"Mags..." Alec said and quickly turned around to face Magnus.
Magnus could see the fear, pain and sadness within his eyes.

"Oh Alec" said Magnus when suddenly Alec threw his arms around him and held on for dear life. He began to rub Alec's back, trying to calm him down.

"I-I...I thought y-you were...dead. That I..." Alec said and then began to sob into Magnus' chest. He held tighter onto Magnus as he shook more.

"Shhh it's alright Alexander. You didn't lose me, I'm right here." Magnus said to Alec and he could feel him slightly relax within his hold.
