CHANGBIN DECIDED HE HATED JISUNG WITH ALL HIS BEING. The young boy had burst into his room when he was still asleep and had created a ruckus until he woke up, much to Changbin's annoyance.

"Binnie, wake up! This is super important! It's a miracle!" Jisung yelled while shaking him aggressively,  leaving Changbin with no other option but to sit up with a groan.

"Why are you here at— at seven am? What the fuck Jisung?" Changbin muttered, checking his phone for the time and frowning. He did not appreciate being woken up that early. He valued his sleep.

"Changbin hyung this is no time to sleep! Look at my wrist!" Jisung yelled excitedly. Changbin glanced at his friend's wrist, finding nothing out of the ordinary, just the black ink everybody had. He was about to smack the younger boy when his eyes widened in realization.

Holy shit Jisung's wrist has a soulmate mark! What the— how?

"You're not playing a prank on me, right?" Changbin asked, grabbing Jisung's wrist and repeatedly rubbing it, but the word stood etched on his friend's skin in neat letters.

Concert.

"Of course I'm not! You know I wouldn't joke about something like this!" Jisung said and Changbin knew he was right. This was a touchy topic for Jisung, and he wouldn't ever joke about it.

"But how?" The older boy muttered, at a lack of words.

"I don't know. I was out on a morning run and when I was drinking water, I saw it on my wrist! It suddenly appeared! I looked it up, and turns out it's very rare, but sometimes people gain a second soulmate mark after the first one disappears." Jisung said with a wide smile and Changbin could see his friend's eyes becoming glassy.

"I'm so happy for you, Sung!" Changbin exclaimed, pulling the other boy in a tight hug. He was glad his friend could have the happy ending he deserved.

"Bin hyung! Maybe it's that BTS concert we are going to next week! Oh my God I might meet my soulmate in a few days." Jisung ranted, making Changbin chuckle at his antics.

"Well now that your loud ass has disrupted my precious sleep anyway, how about a celebratory breakfast at Velvet Dreams? My treat." The older boy grinned and Jisung nodded enthusiastically.

"Okay then get out. I'll be out in fifteen minutes."

.

Velvet Dreams was Changbin's favorite café. It was a small place, beautifully decorated with paintings and mismatched furniture that somehow looked amazing. It also had the best donuts Changbin had ever eaten.

The two boys walked in and greeted the familiar barista who also happened to be one of their new friends and Chan's soulmate.

"Hey Woojin!" Jisung grinned while Changbin also gave the older boy a warm smile.

"Hi guys. The usual?" The older boy asked with a smile and the two boys nodded.

Changbin asked Jisung to find them seats as he paid for their food and the latter happily obliged, skipping along the rows of tables, making Changbin shake his head in amusement.

"That's the happiest I've ever seen that boy look. He's always had a far off look of sadness in his eyes. Did something good happen?" Woojin commented, surprising Changbin with his accurate observations.

"You're right. I guess you can say a miracle happened. That's why he's skipping along like a cartoon character." Changbin rolled his eyes, the smile still on his face.

"Well I'm really happy for him. I hope he always remains this happy. Enjoy your food." Woojin said, handing Changbin a tray with their food.

"Thank you, Woojin." Changbin flashed the older boy a sincere smile, before walking towards the corner table Jisung was seated at.

The younger boy dug into the food as soon as Changbin put the tray down on the table. He looked a lot like a squirrel with his cheeks stuffed with food, making Changbin chuckle, while the boy in question just grinned, shoving even more food in his mouth.

As Changbin looked at his best friend, so full of smiles and happiness after years of pain and sadness, he felt hope. Hope that maybe life doesn't fuck you up, and has good in store for you after all. Hope that maybe, just maybe, his life would turn out to be better too, and the thought was the most welcoming one he'd had in days.
