Chapters 1-8 of this story were originally written as Alcohol Witch, for the November-December 2023 Wattpad 8-Chapter Challenge.

Chapters 9-18 of this story were written as Tax Haven under prompt 48 of the 2024 Open Novella Contest: The curse of magic is that, for every reward, there is a great loss. For every spell that goes right, there is something else, in the real, natural world – that goes terribly wrong. Nature loves it's balance.

Note: the original Alcohol Witch was merged into this book on July 14, 2024.
