Part 2
I couldn't believe what I was reading. I looked over the email again to look for details on when it was and where it would be, but it didn't answer either of my questions. It doesn't matter anyway, I thought. Since I live off of welfare checks, I don't have to worry about missing work. I copied the email address and clicked compose, typing out a my name and address as well as a thanks for being chosen for the tournament before hitting enter.
A few hours later I woke up with my head resting on my desk, the laptop beeping loudly to let me know that I had a new message. "We are ready to pick you up."
Looking out my apartment window, I saw that there was a limo parked at the curb. Holy crap, this is actually happening. I shut my laptop and shoved it into my backpack before going down the staircase so quickly that I almost fell around halfway down. Once I got to the limo, its driver rolled down his window.
"Are you Fox Hall?"
"Yes!"
"I'll have to see some form of identification to make sure. I hope you can understand." I pulled out my wallet and opened it up, showing on my driver's license that I really am Tom Hall, and after looking it over for a few seconds, he handed it back to me. "Go ahead and get in, and we'll be on our way."
Going around the front of the car, I got in and chose to sit directly behind the driver. "So where exactly is the tournament at..?" A fine mist sprayed out of the car's air conditioner, and everything faded to black.
