There had been advertisements almost everywhere, telling of an upcoming indie card game to be released on September 13th, and like many other card gamers, I was looking forward to having something new to play. Its website was updated daily, showing what progress the development team had made and releasing concept art of its cards. Looking down at the corner of the laptop screen, I checked the date. September 12th. Just one more day left...

       For the next month, I spent almost all of my spare time and spare cash at the nearest comic shop, discussing the game with other players. Another month passed, and the game grew to be one of the most popular games worldwide. 

       I walked into my bedroom and opened up my laptop to turn it on before throwing my backpack onto my bed and sitting down. After about two hours of playing games, I remembered that I hadn't checked my email in over a month, so I opened my browser and logged in to my account. There were 217 emails in my inbox, a lot more than usual, but then I looked at my spam folder. 375. Freaking 375 emails in my spam. I clicked it open to start the painful task of deleting them, but one in particular caught my eye, from GameDark Entertainment. I immediately opened it. 

       "James Brailey, the owner of GameDark Entertainment, has invited a lucky 100 of our subscribers to the first official Alchemist's Curse Tournament, with a grand prize of a million dollars!

       If you wish to attend, reply when possible with your name and address, and we will send you transportation to the event."
