Chapter 20: A Cheer-Up Day for Quinn

Albus arrived at McGonagall's office in less than three minutes, his heart racing, and he panted. He took a few deep breaths to catch his breath and knocked on the door.

"Come in." said the voice of McGonagall. Albus opened the door and saw Quinn on the well-known 'chair in McGonagall's office for when you did something wrong or something bad happened.' She looked miserable, though Albus still found she was pretty. Like, in a friendly way. Not in like a 'you are pretty we should date' way.

"Hi Al." she croaked, and Albus wrapped his arms around her.

"Hey. How are you?" Albus asked, and Quinn shrugged.

"Alive." she said, and tears swelled in her eyes. "I'm alive. And my parents are dead. I'm an orphan. And the last time I spoke with them I yelled at them. Because they were threatening to take me from here if I didn't work hard enough." she said, the tears rolling from her cheeks. Albus moved his finger over her cheek to wipe one away.

"Quinn. They might not be alive in this world anymore. But they never really leave. They are still with us. In here." He said, pointing to Quinn's heart. She placed her hand around his, and smiled weakly.

"Did your father tell you that?" she asked, and Albus nodded.

"Yes. When our cat Brian died." he said, and she laughed. "I knew I could make you laugh. Professor, where will she be going now?" he said to McGonagall.

She sighed. "Well, we could find a foster family, or she could go to an orphanage. She doesn't have a godparent, so we haven't figured it out yet."

Albus nodded. "Well, I have an idea. My dad, he said that, that he would love to take Quinn in as he knew what it felt like to be left with people who hate you." Albus said, and Quinn smiled.

"I'd love to." she croaked, and McGonagall nodded.

"Well then, if you could get your dad, we'll discuss this further." she said, and Albus nodded. He left her office and was about to make a run to the DADA classroom when he saw his dad in front of him.

"What did she say? Will she live with us?" he asked, knowing that was what Albus would have spoken about. Albus nodded, and followed his father into the famous office.

After a long talk about what would happen, Albus took Quinn's arm and pulled her with him to the courtyard.

"Albus," she said, laughing. "Where are we going?"

"We are having a Cheer-Up day. And you, are our special guest." He said, and he took out his wand. "Accio Quinn's broom and a school broom!" he yelled, and after a moment the broomstick flew their way, followed by one of the other broomsticks. "We, are going to fly to the Quidditch pitch, to spy on the Slytherin team that is practicing." Albus, said, smiling mischievously.

"Okay." said Quinn, and she swung her leg over the broom, kicked off, hovered for a moment, then flew up in the air. Albus followed her. "Gee Al, you're slow!" she yelled, and slowed a bit. Albus caught up, chuckling.

"Well, I just have the brains, not the Quidditch skills." both laughed, and they flew to the pitch. "Now you have to stay silent, as I don't want them to hear us."

"Al, we're like, 60 yards away from them, we can't hear them, nor can they hear us."

"I have a little trick for that." He said, and he used a charm so they could hear them.

After about an hour of sitting and watching the Slytherins practice, Quinn told Albus she was cold, so they returned to the castle. They were walking to Gryffindor Tower when Albus stopped.

"Al, what is it?" Quinn asked.

"We can go into the Room of Requirement." He said, "What do you want to do?"

Quinn thought for a moment. "Actually, I kind of want to see Fred." she said, and Albus nodded.

"Oh, okay. We'll look for him." he said, feeling sad. "I think he's in the common room." They walked their way to Gryffindor Tower and entered the common room. And yes, Fred sat there.

When he noticed Quinn he ran up to her and kissed her. "Quinn, god, I was so worried! Are you okay? Do you want to go get some food?" he offered, and Quinn nodded. Albus sighed, and waved at the 'cute' couple leaving. Sighing, he joined Tyler and Luke near the fire, who were smiling at him with a strange look.

"What?" Albus asked, as Tyler and Luke exchanged looks.

Luke spoke first. "You like her. Quinn, you like her."

Albus screwed up his face the way you always do when you are about to extremely deny something. "Well, yeah, she's my best friend."

Tyler nodded. "Right. And that's why you don't like Quinn going out with Fred and screw up your face when they kiss."

Albus rolled his eyes. "I just don't think Fred and Quinn are a good couple." he said, and both Tyler and Luke nodded.

"Whatever mate, if you want to see it that way, be my guest." said Tyler.

Albus sighed and got up. He wasn't in the mood to talk to the other 'cute' couple. He got up and left the common room to take a walk. He stopped at the library and entered it to study for a Transfiguration test they would be making the week after. He sat down when he heard two voices. Scorpius and Rose.

"Great. There comes the next 'cute' couple." Albus murmured.

Albus got up to leave again, as he was sick of all the couples, but Rose noticed Albus. "Hi Al!" she said, and Albus groaned. "Woah, why the groan?"

Albus raised his eyebrow. "What? Which groan. Me? I didn't groan." he said, but Scorpius chuckled.

"I don't think Albus is in the mood to talk to people now. We'll study for Transfiguration and Potions somewhere else." he said, and Albus walked past them.

Albus decided he was going to study in his dorm, where no one would interrupt him. He sat down on his bed and took out his book.

After a long time of studying Albus got up to go back to the common room, where Quinn sat on the couch by the fire studying.

"Hey Quinn." Albus said, and she looked at him.

She smiled. "Hi Al. Hey, I want to tell you something." she said, and she put away her book and sat up. "Okay, so Fred just took me to Honeydukes even though it's not - what's the matter, Al?" she asked.

"Nothing. No, no." he said, and she smiled.

"Oh, okay. So Fred and I went to Honeydukes even though it was closed and then he broke into the shelf with like the really expensive sweets and gave me some. He is so sweet." she said. Albus smiled.

"Yeah. Well, I'm going to go and get some dinner." he said, and he walked off. Quinn shrugged and continued studying.

The next day Albus gathered Luke, Tyler, Rose, Scorpius and Quinn to discuss the subject of Rose's plan. "Okay, so, you guys, I get you are all busy, but we have to work something out. Rose, have you spoken to dad?" She nodded.

"He's fine with the plan but unsure whether or not it will work. And, after a class of DADA with the Slytherins, as Scorpius told me, he's fine with it being Ervin, as he noticed a specific hint that his dad is a Death Eater. Actually Ervin said it, so, yeah. So, what do we do?" she asked.

Albus clapped his hands together. "We have to make sure one of us disarms Harry. The bravest, least likely to betray us." he said, and they all looked at Luke.

Tyler spoke. "Luke would never betray someone. He's too sweet for it." he said, as Quinn and Rose 'aww'-ed. Albus nodded.

"Okay, Luke. I'll get dad." Albus said.

When he returned, Harry was walking right behind him, saying: "I still don't think it's the best idea, but it might work. Alright. Luke, I believe you were the one to do it, so, as your DADA teacher, give it a shot." he said, as Luke took out his wand.

"Okay. Expelliarmus!" he yelled, as Harry's wand flew out of his hand. Everyone looked at Harry expectantly, as if the Elder Wand would come flying to him or something.

"Nothing will happen, it's like this. That's good. See you in class, Ervin will defeat me there. Stay safe, Luke." he said, and Luke nodded. Harry ruffled Albus' hair and left the Room of Requirement where they were gathered.

Hey guys,

I don't have much to say for a change, but I hope you enjoyed the chapter, as far as you can enjoy Albus being jealous of couples without wanting to admit it. Please vote and comment, and especially comment, because I love it when you comment.

Love,

Florence (Who is watching a Wizards of Waverly Place movie and keeps wanting to call non-wizards Muggles. God, I'm weird)
