Chapter 18: Rose's Idea
The six didn't answer, so McGonagall repeated the question. "Where have you been?" She asked.
"We-" started Rose, and the rest stammered with her.
"Ah, there you are, I was getting worried!" A different voice said, known as Harry's.
"Dad! We were looking for you too!" Albus said, forgetting McGonagall was even there. "We were at Malfoy Manor to pretend to help them to gather information and then we got the task to defeat you and bring them the Elder Wand so they can defeat us and have a new Dark Lord and they search for the Ressurection Stone to let the old one choose who it's going to be." He said, without stopping to breathe, so he took a deep breath.
"Wait, what?"
"You heard him." Said Scorpius, then added: "But Rose had the best idea ever. One of us defeats you in secret, and then in class you let Ervin or a Slytherin close to the Death Eaters, not me, disarm you or something and then we say to Daver they were first and then when it doesn't work to defeat them they will come back to us and then we let someone defeat the person who initially defeated you and then -"
"Then we let it be someone who is on the verge of dying and then the power dies with them." Rose suddenly added. Everyone looked at her.
"Rose, that's even more genius." Said Scorpius, and Rose blushed.
"Always the tone of surprise." She whispered.
McGonagall, who still stood there, spoke. "Really, kids, this isn't going to work." She stated.
Harry disagreed. "Actually, it's really a great idea, Hermione Junior." He joked, making Rose smile. "It might actually work. But we need to choose who the Slytherin will be."
"Ervin." Chorused the six. McGonagall shook her head.
"No. I will not bring a student in danger."
"But Professor, this is our only chance or we'll have to rehunt for Horcruxes, and that was tiring enough already once." Harry said, looking at her.
"You will never change, will you?" Harry shook his head. "Hm. Perhaps we can think of something. But to put Mr Jones in such danger..."
"He won't be in real danger if his dad is a Death Eater." Harry said.
Just then Fred and James came past them.
"Dad, what's going on?" James asked, and Harry shook his head.
"It's nothing boys, go to where you were going." He said.
Fred turned to Quinn. "Can I talk to you?" He said, and she looked at Harry.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I-err." Started Fred, awkwardly shifting his feet.
"Whatever it is, spit it out." Said Scorpius.
"I'll talk to you later." He said, and he gave her a quick kiss, which made Albus feel very angry and confused.
James and Fred continued walking, so McGonagall spoke again. "I don't like the idea, nor would I want to get Mr Jones in trouble. However, I wanted to talk to you, Miss Rivers. It's about the attack that was in the Daily Prophet yesterday." she said, and Quinn looked at her. "In the village that was attacked, there was a Plane and Design Conference." She said, and Quinn gasped.
"Are they-" she whispered, and Albus knew what it was about. Quinn's parents were busy with planes often, and they would be in many conferences. They probably were in danger.
"No, they're not dead. You parents are in St Mungo's." she said. Quinn ran her hand through her hair, and looked at her hands.
Albus swore he saw a tear run over her cheek, so he placed his arms around her. He could feel her body shaking, and whispered: "Let it out." She heard it, and started to really cry.
"Miss Rivers, I suggest you go to your dorm to get some rest, after your Malfoy Manor thing." McGonagall said, but Quinn shook her head.
"I need to see them!" she said, but McGonagall shook her head.
"Get some rest first. Then we'll get you to see them." she said, "That goes for all of you." She said, and they all nodded. Albus ran after Quinn, who had her head down so no one would see her cry. He placed his arm around her.
"You'll be okay." he whispered.
"M-Maybe I-I will, b-but m-my parents w-won't..." she sobbed.
Albus looked at her. "You know, you look great even when you're crying." he whispered, making her smile weakly.
She looked at him. "Th-thank you." she sniffed. When they arrived at Gryffindor Tower, they stopped at the Fat Lady's Portrait.
"Fulgurantes Aqua." Albus said, and she swung open. "I think I'll leave you here, as I can't come to your dorm with you, I mean, with the slide and everything." Albus said, but she looked at him solemny.
"I wish you could, I don't really want to be alone right now." she said, still sniffing a bit.
"You can come up to the boys dorm." Albus offered, and she nodded. She followed Albus up and laid down on his bed. "I'll get you some food later, if you want." She shook her head, and closed her eyes.
"Can you just sit here?" She asked, and Albus nodded.
"Try to sleep, and if you can't, I'll take you some place later, which might help." Albus said, and she nodded, before closing her eyes.

Albus looked at her while she slept, as she was very tired, not in a pedophile way of course, when Fred opened the door.
"Tyler said Quinn was here." he said, and Albus held his finger to his lips, pointing to her with his other finger. "Why is she sleeping in your bed?"
Albus rolled his eyes, mouthing 'she's tired.' "Yeah, no shit, sherlock, but why in your bed?" Albus rolled his eyes again.
"Will you quiet down?" He asked quietly. At that point Quinn woke up.
"Wuzzat?" she mumbled, and the boys looked at her.
Fred spoke first. "Hey, I heard of.. it, are you okay?" he asked, and Quinn shrugged. Then her eyes widened, and she turned to Albus.
"Al, we have to go to McGonagall, so I can see them!" she said, and she jumped up. Fred looked from Quinn to Albus.
"I can bring you to McGonagall." He said, and Quinn smiled at him. He kissed her forehead - much to Albus' disgust - and the two walked out, Quinn merely glancing at Albus, who followed them.
***
They arrived at McGonagall's office quickly. The second she saw Quinn, she nodded. "You can use the Floo Network while I inform St. Mungo's you are coming." She said, and Quinn nodded, grabbing a handful of Floo Powder. She stepped onto the glowing fireplace, and threw the powder down.
"St. Mungo's Hospital!" She yelled, and she disappeared in green light. Fred followed. Before Albus could follow, however, McGonagall turned to him.
"Take care of her, I'm afraid her parents might not make it." She said, and Albus nodded. He too stepped onto the glowing fireplace and threw the powder down.
He had always loved the Floo Network, which most people hated. His very own father didn't like it. Albus loved the rollercoaster feeling, as long as it didn't take longer than a few seconds. He arrived at St. Mungo's, in the hall, where he saw Quinn and Fred at the counter, talking to the lady there. Albus joined them.
"... I don't know where they are but I'm their daughter! The name's Rivers." Quinn said, and the lady nodded.
"Yes, well miss, they are not registered." She said calmly. Quinn rolled her eyes.
"They're supposed to be here, McGonagall said so, at least." she said, clearly annoyed. "So can you please just look again?"
The lady looked at her. "Well, I suppose, but I told you they're not here, girl." She said, and she started looking through a book on the desk.
Fred started tapping on the desk impatiently. The lady looked up after a moment again. "Nothing, I'm sorry, girl. No Rivers."
Albus got impatient. "Okay, there was an attack in a Muggle village. Some people were brought here, including her parents. Haven't you have freaking noted that? It was an attack!" He yelled. Quinn looked at him.
"There's no need to put up a tone, boy, don't be stupid. Excuse me, but there are people who need real help here, if you please, sit down, and I will look later." the lady said, but Albus rolled his eyes.
"Sure, so the minute you find it they are dead, for god's sake, just show us where they are or I will look for it myself." Albus said, earning stares from people in the hall.
"Excuse me, boy, but you have not right talking to me like that, who do you think you are?"
Albus sighed. "Albus Severus Potter. And I have every right to ask for help, you are the desk lady!" He yelled, and the lady's eyes widened.
"M-mister Potter, of course, I will find out right away." Albus nodded, and the lady walked away. Albus sighed.
Quinn raised her eyebrows. "Al, there was no need to get rude." She said, but Albus rolled his eyes again.
"It could've taken ages otherwise." He said, when the lady returned.
"Alright. The Ward for Muggle Cases is on the third floor, ask a nurse there for more." She said, and Albus nodded. They went to the elevator and entered it.
Fred took Quinn's hand. "It's going to be okay." He said, and Quinn smiled weakly.
The elevator stopped, a woman's voice saying: Level 3: Third Floor - Potions and Plant Poisoning, Muggle Cases. The three left the elevator and hurried to the very first nurse they saw.
"I'm looking for two Muggles, Mr and Mrs Rivers, from the accident in the Muggle village." Albus said. The nurse looked at them and led the way. They arrived at a sad ward, with no decorations or whatsoever.
The nurse noticed Albus' surprise, and said: "I'has ter look like a Muggle War', yeh know." she whispered, in a heavy accent, and Albus sighed. The nurse shoved open a curtain, showing two beds, which were filled with a man and a woman, badly injured. Albus recognized Quinn's parents. She dropped to the floor, crying. Fred kneeled down next to her, shushing her.
Albus turned to the nurse. "Will they be alright?" he asked, but the nurse shrugged.
"They got the wors' o' 'm all. Few torture curses an' some nasty jinxes." She said. "I don't s'pose they is gon' be heal' a' leas' not entirely." she said. Albus nodded slowly. "We do try, really, we do. I'm no' the bes' healer, bu' I sure kno' this 's ba'." she said, Albus trying to hear through her accent well.
He looked over to Quinn, who held onto her mother's hand, muttering 'I love you', and 'don't die'. The sight made him want to cry as well.
"Well, me loves, you has got ter go now, visi'ing hour's over." the nurse said, but Quinn shook her head.
"I can't leave them." She said, and the nurse shrugged.
"Fine." She muttered, conjuring a bed. "Just you, cause you is cute. But you boys is havin' ter leave now." Quinn thanked the nurse, who was shoving Albus and Fred out of the ward, who both waved at Quinn.

Fred and Albus sat in the hall, deciding whether or not to return to Hogwarts, when someone called Albus' name.
"Al? What are you doing here?" It was Neville's wife, Hannah. "And Fred? Who's injured?"
"Quinn's parents." Albus muttered, and she gasped.
"Were they part of the Muggle attack? God, boys, where is she?"
"With her parents, but they're unconscious." Fred said.
Hannah sighed. "Well, I think you should return to Hogwarts, is she allowed to stay here with her parents?" she asked, and Albus nodded. "Good, I'll keep an eye on her and have you stay tuned. Go back to school, it's the best thing to do right now." She said, and the boys obliged, returning to the chimneys at the side of the hall. Fred left first, followed by Albus, both worrying about their friend and girlfriend.
