Chapter 12: To Tell or Not To Tell

Okay, I know I usually do my Author's Notes on the bottom of the chapter but I have to tell you guys this. So, I had a testweek this week, and my last test today was Latin. Guess what it was about? Well?

I HAD TO TRANSLATE A PART OF HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE TO DUTCH. I was so fucking happy and I nearly fell into fits of laughter. My test was about Harry Potter. I never dreamt of more omg I am so happy now. But I'm going to write the next chapter now, Love you guys so much!

The entire ride they sat in silence. Usually they would talk about school, or a new book they'd read. Now, however, Rose, Albus, Tyler and Felicia sat in silence. Quinn and Fred were probably snogging in a different carriage, and every time Albus thought of it he felt a black pit in his stomach and got the urge to vomit. Sure, he liked Felicia, and she was a great kisser, but he hadn't spoken much to Quinn since his accident with the Butterbeer.

They got off the carriage and followed the crowd into the Great Hall. As usual, the Headmaster held a little speech before the dinner came up.

Then, Tyler spoke. His voice was deeper than normal and filled with misery and anger. "Albus, don't you have to go to Madam Pomfrey to check on you?" he said, and he got looks from people at the table.

"Tyler, what happened to you? Are you okay?" asked Luke Finnigan, a boy from their dorm.

Tyler looked at him. "I'm fine. In fact, I've never been better." He said.

Luke looked from Albus to Tyler to Quinn - who was laughing with Fred and poking her french fries in his cheek. "Have you had a fight?"

Albus shook his head. "No, she's just being happy Quinn, dating funny Fred."

Then, Luke's girlfriend, Anna spoke up. "You're jealous. You have a crush on Quinn!" she said.

Albus shook his head. "She's... She was my friend, and now she's dating my cousin. Perfectly fine with it, aren't I?"

It was quiet for a moment. Lily - who sat not far from them, next to Quinn - looked over at Albus and narrowed her eyes with an evil smile on her face. She coughed, while Albus shook his head at her.

"Well, he's probably happier than ever, I mean. You are so close to-hmngj!"

Quinn had placed her hand over Lily's mouth. "Eww, Lily don't lick me! If you dare say it I will kill you. You know they're my friends and you know I can make your live more miserably than you can imagine. You're dating a Slytherin, and I can say more but I'm nice." she snapped, and the entire Gryffindor table went silent. Some people started whispering, things like 'a Slytherin?' and 'Potter?'

"I was going to say he was happy because he's dating Felicia now." said Lily, not looking at Quinn.

In the corner of Albus' eyes, he could see Tyler looking relieved. Albus smiled at Quinn, and she smiled back, then mouthed: 'We need to talk. The three of us.'

Albus nodded, and held up nine fingers for 9 o'clock.

After the dinner, Albus, Tyler and Quinn walked to the corridor where they'd first found the Room of Requirement. Albus asked it for a room they could talk, and it appeared. It was like a living room, fireplace and all.

"Tyler, I know about it. I wasn't there when Lily told the entire family, but Fred told me. Albus' whole family spoke about behind both your backs. And something might've already known. I mean, you do take Music, have a very good taste of matching colors - I mean, you helped me choose colors for my room at home - and well, you did have troubles with the girls you dated." said Quinn, smiling. "I felt bad when Fred told me. Not because you are gay, but because he told me, while I wanted to be told myself. Yet, we hadn't spoken a lot, so... yeah. We'll find the perfect guy for you, I'm sure of it."

Tyler didn't speak, so Albus did. "What is it, you see in Fred?" he asked, changing the subject.

Quinn's eyebrows furrowed. "Why do you ask? He's funny, nice, and a great Keeper." she shrugged. "He's cool."

"Listen, I know for a fact that Lily will try to tell on you again, Tyler. She's not the nicest. I'm sorry for saying this about your sister, but after learning about your grandmother Lily, I don't think the name suits her. I said sorry! I just think we should make her stop or you have to come out before she does."

Tyler shrugged. Albus sighed. "Actually, I think we have another problem, too. Karkaroff? And his Death Eaters? Felicia said Ervin's dad's one, and I think we should talk to Scorpius. I believe they do all this in Malfoy Manor. And well, we can't deny Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy is a Malfoy, can we?" Quinn winced at the name 'Felicia'.

Both Quinn and Tyler sighed. She played with a blue bracelet she wore. "I know. But how? We had trouble finding the Cloak of Wisdom, how on earth are we going to find out more about Karkaroff and the others? I mean, he is very smart and cunning. We won't be able to do it alone. We will need more help. Just like first year, maybe."

Then they all sighed. Albus yawned, followed by Quinn and Tyler. Albus chuckled. "I read somewhere that if people yawn because you yawn, they love you."

Tyler chuckled too. "Well, you were the best kisser."

Albus gave him a look. "I thought we'd agreed not to talk about this." he muttered, and Tyler nodded.

"Wait, you kissed? Albus, are you -" Quinn started, but Albus interrupted.

"Didn't Fred tell you?" He glared at Tyler. "Thanks, Tyler. I'm not gay, Quinn."

Quinn smiled weakly. "I'm tired, I need some sleep." She walked off, humming a melody Albus faintly recognized.

Albus looked at Tyler. "You blew it." he said, trying to remember the song she was humming.

"It's from Disney. That's a Muggle movie company." said Tyler, apparently seeing Albus think.

"Disney? The thing with the princesses? Lily loved it. Before she turned all strange and Slytherin-loving."

Tyler sighed. "I loved this one Disney movie. Hercules. This song's from it. I think it's called I won't say I'm in love." He said, and hummed softly.

"I won't say I'm in love? Right. I'm going to bed too. Don't tell anyone else about our kiss." said Albus, before stamping off towards Gryffindor tower.

Albus felt the black pit in his stomach again. He felt like Quinn would never know how much he liked her - loved, maybe.

He walked to the Fat Lady portrait, and thought of the password.

"Err- Pax Terra." said Albus, and the Fat Lady smiled, before opening up.

He entered the common room and walked up the stairs to the dormitories, where he fell asleep quickly.

The next morning Albus was walking to Potions, while he was talking to Luke. Well, Luke talked, Albus was silent.

"Morning Class, today, I have a new idea. Let's go through the Potions over here, then we'll make one of those - you can choose which one yourself - and the person that makes the best Potion, gets to have... this. I've handed one to a student once before, to Harry Potter. Now, I found a new one, and... well, it's for the best student!" Slughorn held up a tiny vile with a gold shimmering liquid inside. It was sealed tightly.

Albus looked at Quinn. He wanted this potion, he needed it. Maybe, if he took it, and asked Quinn out, she'd say yes.

"Alright. First, this potion. Who knows it?" asked Slughorn, pointing at a cauldron filled with a black shimmering liquid. Both Rose and Albus' arms shot up in the air.

"Draught of Living Death. We made it a few lessons before." said Albus, and Slughorn nodded.

"And... this one?" he asked, pointing at a cauldron with a blue liquid. This time, only Albus' hand shot up.

"It's the Draught of Phoenix Eyes." he answered. "Kills wounds but makes very dark potions too. You don't need to have a phoenix that likes you, you can blind it. It's very tricky to make, though. It's highly toxic before finished off, because of the burning power of the phoenix."

Slughorn continued with the next potion, and the next, until they were done.

"Good. Pick your potion, grab the ingredients, brew it."

Albus had decided immediately. He was going to make Draught of Phoenix Eyes. He hurried to the ingredient cupboard and searched it for the ingredients.

"First of all, I need to chop and stew the eyes, without touching the back of them." he mumbled, taking a pair of tweezers and a knife. He held the eye with the tweezers and squeezed it a little, then chopped it in pieces. He picked up the little plate and emptied it above his tiny cauldron - which stood over a little fire - and poured his water in it too.

"Five small fish bones - crushed into a thick powder." He mumbled, and continued with his potion.

In the corner of his eye, he could see Ervin working hard on his potion. He probably wanted that potion very much too.

After an hour, most of the potions were done, and Albus was finishing off too. His hair was messier than ever and he was cutting up Hippogriff tail hair furiously. He stirred the final bits and pieces together and looked at his potion turning from orange to red to yellow and back with the speed of fire.

Slughorn passed the tables, a look of disappointment covering his face. When he arrived at Albus' cauldron, however, his look changed to a mix of admiration and surprise.

"Well done, Albus. It's obvious you win the little vile of Felix Felicis. And, would you like to have your potion in a vile, too? I can put some of it in a vile. Just in case, you know." said Slughorn, and Albus nodded. He took the vile and slid it in his pocket.

As they left the classroom, someone grabbed Albus' arm.

"Albus, I need to talk to you." someone said, and Albus looked at Scorpius, who stood in front of him.

"What do you want?" asked Albus, and Scorpius sighed.

"I-err..." started Scorpius, and he took a deep breath. "I need your help, Albus."

"Why mine? I'm a stupid git that befriended a Mudblood, aren't I?" said Albus, and he crossed his arms.

Scorpius shook his head. "No, you're not. I had no choice, my grandfather made me. He-" Scorpius looked around. "He told me to do this or I'd be a disgrace to the name of Malfoy and he'd find a way to punish me. But he died, in the summer, so he doesn't have the ability to kill me for it, but the other Death Eaters do. They're regaining power, Albus. They're making a new dark lord, you know. So I ask you again, can you help me? I need your advice."

Albus nodded slowly. "Tell me, what do you need? Does it have anything to do with Death Eaters?"

"Yes. I think you, Quinn and Tyler are the strongest people at Hogwarts. So, I want you guys to help me stop the Death Eaters. They can't come back. My dad told me how bad that time was, and I want you guys to help me. Will you?"

"Is this for real?" asked Albus, then added: "I will speak to Tyler and Quinn. Maybe even Rose."

"Thanks, Albus. Oh, and if you see your dad again, me and my parents said hi." finished Scorpius, before walking off.

Albus hurried off to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom quickly, and when he entered, people were running around, attacking each other and tripping over stuff. Karkaroff, or Edgar Lachson, stood at the far end of the classroom, grinning madly. Albus felt angry, and closed his eyes to see if the picture would go away. It didn't. He went over every spell in his mind, trying to find one that would stop all this.

"Imobulus Maxime!" He exclaimed, and everyone in the classroom froze. Albus stepped to the end of the class, where Karkaroff stood. "This is ridiculous. I'm going to inform McGonagall immediately." He walked towards Quinn and pointed his wand at her. "Finite Incantatem Minime" the spell wore off Quinn only, and she unfroze, clutching Albus for steadiness. She nodded, understanding she'd have to stay in the classroom while Albus looked for McGonagall. She straightened her ponytail and jumped onto Karkaroff's desk.

Albus ran out of the classroom, and hurried across the corridors, looking for the teacher he trusted.
