WARNING: MATING TOPICS AHEAD XD GOD HELP ME

In the Northern Kingdom, females are highly respected. So it is in this Kingdom where females again choose theur mate like in the West.

This usually happens during what they call "musk season." It is a form of mating season formed after the disbandment of the old mating season as a gathering of all four kingdoms.

It is not as crazy as the Three Leaf Days like in the East and South, but is quite similar.

If you get a mate at this time it is called a "musk mate." You will be mates for that musk season, and after it ends then you are no longer mates. But, if you wish to continue being mates you can continue.

Anyways, during musk season females will get crowded with males in what was nicknamed musk herds (musk herds are prohibited from forming in public places). The males will try to prove their strength and dominance trying to be picked by the female. This could lead to fights and other things.
One odd-ahem-thing they may do is mate the other males to prove dominance (this isn't that odd of an occurrence in the animal world as many animals do this but not necessarily to please females).

A female will pick a male in the musk herd by touching her snout to his cheek. They will then mate.
After the female picks a suitor, the musk herd usually disbands in search of a new female.

If a female picks you and you reject her, prepare to get your ass kicked from jealous Northern residents. If you get picked the female will usually make sure you accept her by any means necessary.

Since male genes are dominant in the Northern Kingdom, there are more males than females.
This leads to many mateless males. So, they go to the next best thing: other males.

The other three kingdoms think the North musk season is odd and try to stay out of their kingdom around that time. There have been many cases of males and females from other Kingdoms who have been there during musk season and got caught in some... Awkward situations.

"Fun" Facts~

--Siltafiir, after escaping from the Eastern Kingdom, stayed in the South for some time. And he got caught up in musk season. Not only did he become a female's musk mate by force, but he also was mounted by several males who got jealous of him. Rip my poor baby. He never stayed too long on that Island again.
