It was a cloudy day. It had been raining off and on throughout your walk down the path with your partner and best friend, Sableye. He was an energetic little guy, always running around and dragging you along to show you things. He loved sharing what he knew with you. Of course, he had to tell you in Sign Language due to your lack of hearing.

You had lost your hearing years ago in a car crash. Your seat belt had disconnected during the accident, so you flew out the window of the car. Your head had hit the pavement in such a way that the doctors could not recover your hearing. You had fared better than your father though. He had been driving the both of you to the store to pick up groceries for your mother. Unfortunately, he did not make it out alive due to the car igniting into a fireball. Your mother had paid for sign language lessons and now you had mastered it. She had gotten lessons for Sableye too so he could be your translator, since you wanted to go on a jorney so badly.

The two of you had been traveling for a few months, him translating and you training him. He was still mastering his Mega Evolution forme, so you guys trained every day with Pokémon you encountered.

Sableye was perched on your shoulder when you felt a drop of rain on your head. You looked up only to be drenched by rain. You sighed but spotted a Pokémon Center in the distance. You ran full speed at it, Sableye's claws digging into your shoulder as you ran for shelter.

The two of you finally reached the building and burst in. Luckily only a guy wearing black, grey, blue and white along with a redhead in a green outfit were there. (A/N: Because Author - Chan is too lazy to do descriptions today.) The boy looked unamused while the girl saw me and eyes sparkled.

You walked over to Nurse Joy. Sableye lept up on her counter as she turned to face the two of you. She smiled when she saw you and said something. You looked to Sableye, who signed, Hello! How are you today?

You smiled. "Good, thank you! Tell me, do you have any towels I can borrow? As you can see, we got caught in the storm."

She nodded and spoke again. Yes, let me go get some! Sableye signed. Joy walked off into another room. You began running your fingers through your (h/c) (h/l) hair to try and straighten it out.

Sableye pointed to your left, signaling something. You turned your head and saw the green - claid girl approaching you. Sableye scampered behind her as she began speaking. Hello! He signed. I'm Mairin! What's your name?

"I'm (Y/n), nice to meet you!" You replied with a smile.

Where are you traveling? Sableye signed to you.

"Sableye and I are just traveling across the region to improve his ability on Mega Evolution," you replied kindly.

Wow! Sableye can Mega Evolve?! Your partner signed.

You giggled. "Yup! He's proud of it too!" Sableye scratched the back of his neck, a blush covering his cheeks.

Hey, why is Sableye making those weird hand motions? She asked.

"I'm actually deaf. Sableye translates everything to me using sign language," You replied to her. Her eyes widened.

Wow, that's so cool! I mean, not that you're deaf, it's cool that you and Sableye know sign language- You held a hand up to silence her.

"It's okay, I understand," You giggled. Sableye motioned for you to turn to your right. You turned to see the boy from before walking over.

Oh! (Y/n), this is Alain! He has a Charizard who also uses Mega Evolution and evolves into a black Charizard and it's so cool! Mairin bounced around bit then remembered something and stopped. Oh, Alain! (Y/n) is deaf, so Sableye uses sign language to communicate things to her!

Alain raised an eyebrow, looking to you. He raised his hands and began using sign language;

Hello, my name is Alain.

You smiled and communicated back. I'm (Y/n), how are you?

Alright, thank you. How are you?

I'm good. So, you know sign language? You chuckled. Well obviously you know if you're communicating with me.

He chuckled. I took it while studying under Professor Sycamore.

Oh cool! You know the professor?

Yeah, he's pretty nice. Say, you have a Mega Stone. I'm traveling and defeating all Mega Evolution Pokémon, so may we battle sometime?

You grinned. Of course! Sableye and I are working on mastering his Mega Evolution forme, so it would be great experience.

Mairin watched the communication with wide eyes. Sableye was used to it, since he had seen this many times before.

The three of you became close friends in the time span of the rain clearing off. You decided to travel with them to help improve your battle skills.
