Chapter Twenty - Nothin' Like You.
Chapter Twenty – Nothin' Like You.
Alec fell back against the vine swing with a sigh, relaxing himself into the gentle swinging motion of the piece of furniture as he reached out for a book from the shelf beside him. He read the silver font that stretched across the front cover of the book, which read 'The Martian' before shrugging to himself with a smile as he opened the book and began to read. However he soon found himself distracted by the sound of laughter and he peered over the top of his book to stare at Magnus who was dangling a feathered cat toy before Chairman Meow's eyes, laughing as the cat leapt up in an attempt to catch the feathers only to have them pulled away teasingly just in time. Alec smiled, ducking his head back into his book as Magnus glanced over his shoulder to see if the young Shadowhunter was watching the cat's antics.
Alec turned the page, smirking to himself as he heard Magnus stand up from where he was spread out across the sofa. "Something tells me daddy needs some attention." Magnus whispered to the cat as he scooped it up in his arms, carefully tucking the cat toy into his jeans pocket so that he didn't get scratched. Alec forced himself to keep a straight face as Magnus began to make his way over towards him, shushing Chairman every time the cat let out a pitiful meow, let his eyes scan over the words on the page in front of him barely taking it in as he listened to Magnus's footsteps. He didn't let himself look upwards as Magnus stopped in front of him, placing one of Chairman Meow's paws on top of the book, impersonating a deep toned voice as he said, "Dad. Pay attention to me." Alec couldn't help it, he let out a loud laugh as he raised his hands to take the cat from Magnus, "What's the matter with my poor little Chairman." He crooned, holding the cat close to his chest as he gently rocked the swing. "What did the meanie do to my baby?" He sent a mock glare up at Magnus, who was still smiling down at the pair of them.
"Sit." Alec said, gesturing with his head towards the free space on the swing. "It's interrogation time. Isn't it Chairman?" He stared down at the cat as he meowed, almost as if agreeing forcing both Alec and Magnus to chuckle, "Traitor." Magnus said, resting his head on Alec's shoulder as he rubbed the cat's head making him purr loudly, "Stop trying to steal my child's love from me!" Alec cried out, moving the Chairman closer to his chest, twisting away from Magnus so he couldn't reach any part of the cat, letting go almost instantly as the cat lashed out having had enough of their antics. "Damn it!" Alec winced, staring down at the large scratches that crossed his right forearm as blood slowly trickled from the corner of each scratch. Magnus let out a loud obnoxious laugh which he didn't regret at all, not even when Alec sent a sharp dark look at him. "I'm... I'm sorry Alexander..." Magnus gasped out through his laughter, wrapping his arms around the young Shadowhunter's waist. "No you're not." Alec retorted, still faking a cold-shoulder in Magnus's direction.
"You're right. I'm not." Magnus said, bursting out into another loud fit of laughter, "That's daddy's boy." He cooed, letting go of Alec in order to scoop up the little cat into his arms and rubbing his fingers over the cat's ears making the Chairman purr loudly. "Never try to steal the love of a Warlock's cat, Alexander."
"Yeah. I see that." Alec muttered through gritted teeth as he scrawled an Iratze just above the line of scratches, wincing slightly as the stinging skin began to close. "I think daddy's not happy with baby Chairman now," Magnus whispered to the cat, "maybe you should apologise?" He held the cat up it front of Alec's face so that the cat's front paws rested on both sides of Alec's face and put on a really small and innocent voice, "I'm sorry Dada." Alec couldn't help it anymore, he let out a long laugh his head tilted right back and his dimples etching themselves into his cheeks almost like a carving as his eyes squinted almost shut as he laughed, Magnus thought it was the most adorable thing he'd ever seen. He placed the cat down on the floor in between both of his and Alec's legs as he wrapped his arms back around Alec's waist and pulled him closer as he laughed, their faces almost touching. Magnus pressed his lips to Alec's, cutting off the young Shadowhunter's laughter and replacing it with a shocked noise before Alec responded to the kiss, his fingers tightly onto the Warlock's shoulders, fingernails biting lightly into Magnus's skin.
Everything else was forgotten as the two lovers clung to each other as if they were the only thing keeping each tied to the same planet, their lips moving in synchronisation, the vine swing that they shared slowly rocking backwards and forwards, pushed gently by Magnus's foot. Magnus let his hands run gently through Alec's hair causing it to stick up at odd angles, smiling into the kiss before he pulled back to give them the opportunity to breathe, briefly wishing that they didn't have to breathe if it meant he could stay with his lips locked on Alec's forever. He stared at the young Shadowhunter, tracing his thumbs along the faint blush that was steadily darkening along his pale cheekbones, longing for Alec to open his eyes so that he could see those ocean blue eyes that were so captivating that Magnus felt he could drown within them. Eventually Alec did open his eyes, to find Magnus staring at him, a large beaming grin spreading across his face, dimples making a reappearance once again. Magnus sucked in a deep breath, biting down on his bottom lip as he stared at his husband. He laughed to himself, thinking about how amazing it felt to be able to call Alec his husband, finally. Alec tilted his head in confusion as Magnus chuckled quietly, not knowing quite what the Warlock was thinking about, except that he seemed to be really happy about it. He smiled at Magnus, his cheeks burning as he played with their interlaced hands. "There's nothing like you, Alexander." Magnus muttered, tilting the young Shadowhunter's head back upwards so that Alec was forced to look at him. "Not in all my years alive have I ever seen anything like you." He replaced his lips back onto Alec's as the loud noises of Brooklyn drifted back into silence for the two of them.

A/N:
*Pinches cheeks with loud Awwww before whispering* I ship it! Told you lot I could be cute when I wanted to be. Lots of fluffy fluffy fluff for you involving Magnus, Alec and the Chairman. What more could you want? Anyway you know the deal, or you should do, I know I've been putting a lot of author notes at the moment on my chapters so sorry if I bore you all to death. I hope you're not all crying/ dying fangirls or fanboys because of me and this fluffy fluff. Although you might be I don't know, but I know I am or so I've been told. *looks over darkly at friends*
Anyway I'm debating about my update schedules at the moment so I need your help. Which of these options would you lot prefer?
1) I write a chapter and then update it straight away therefore letting you have the new chapter right away as soon as it's finished
2) Or I write a chapter but don't post it right away but instead start writing the next chapter after that and then update, giving you two chapters when the second one is finished
3) Or I could just write until I finish the whole book and then upload the whole thing but that would mean you would all have to wait longer for the next update until I've completely finished writing the novel.
Let me know what you would prefer in the comments below! Also let me know if you liked this chapter or not and I'll try to make the next chapter better and more enjoyable for you. ^_^
Peace out Fledglings! 🖖🏻
~ Ty
