Chapter Sixteen - Nightmare.
Chapter Sixteen - Nightmare.
Magnus stared blankly at Alec a look of shock frozen on his face. Alec's eyes darted nervously around the room as he chewed on his bottom lip drawing blood. "Say something." Alec whispered, "Magnus, please say something." His voice began to tremble with emotion and he looked back down at his hands in his lap, his fingernails were digging sharply into his pale skin causing red crescent moon shapes. 'Don't lose control, Alec.' He told himself sternly, 'Don't lose it now.' Alec pushed the plate away from him and stood up, "Actually don't worry. I'm going for a run." He announced heading to the front door to grab his trainers. As he had expected Magnus followed after him, leaning back against the front door blocking Alec's escape. "Not without breakfast you're not." Magnus said sternly, folding his arms across his chest.
"I was going to give you time to think over what I just said." Alec retorted, keeping his eyes fixed on his shoelaces as he hurriedly tied them with trembling hands. "Breakfast first." Magnus repeated, "Then you can go running and I will think over what you said." Alec nodded silently as he tied the laces on his left shoe before standing back up and heading back to his seat at the table. He slowly nibbled at the breakfast, aware that Magnus's eyes were fixed entirely on him making sure that he ate. "Done." Alec announced finally, pushing the plate away from him again. "I'm going running." He made his way back to the front door, this time Magnus didn't follow him, and he sighed as he opened the door and headed outside into the bright morning sunshine.

Magnus threw himself down on the sofa with an irritated sigh, "Damn it! Damn it, Damn it!!!"
'What are you so afraid of?' His conscience asked.
"I'm not afraid!" He retorted angrily.
'Yes you are,' His conscience retorted, 'Alec wants this and you know deep down you do too.' Magnus sighed irritably as he squeezed his eyes shut tightly, falling into in an entangling nightmare:
'Magnus kicked open the door to his apartment back in Brooklyn, his arms were laden with bags that swung on his wrists as he leant back against the door to shut it. "Alec, I'm home!" He called, only to be greeted with silence. Magnus's nerves spiked into a cold pool of dread. 'You're overreacting. He's probably asleep.' But still his jittery nerves wouldn't settle, placing the bags down on the sofa Magnus headed towards the bedroom that he and Alec shared, a plan forming in his mind. He turned the door handle slowly, trying to be as quiet as he could so as not to disturb Alec but he wasn't there. Magnus chewed nervously on his bottom lip as my pulled his phone from his pocket with trembling hands, speed dialling Alec's number. "Come on Alec. Pick up the phone. Please pick up the phone." Magnus muttered, pacing backwards and forwards across the empty bedroom.
"Hi, it's Alec." Alec's voice called from the other end of the phone. "Alec!! Oh my God!! Where are you?!" Magnus yelled down the phone before realising he was talking to Alec's answerphone message. He cursed loudly as he cancelled the call and placed his phone back into his pocket. A loud clatter caught Magnus's attention and his head snapped in the direction of the kitchen, he took one last look around the room before running towards the kitchen door.
Magnus skidded to a halt, his feet almost slipping out from underneath him. Another rattle came from the cupboard under the sink and Magnus quietly crept forward, wrenching the doors open hurriedly, making a startled scream escape the lips of a small child. Magnus frowned, "Who are you?" The boy shook his black hair in reply, refusing to answer. His blue eyes were wide as he stared at something over Magnus's shoulder. Magnus swallowed, panic forcing his throat to close up as he turned to look behind him. Slumped on the kitchen tiles, blood staining their clothes and the knife clasped loosely in their right hand, was Alec.'
*****
"Magnus! Magnus! Magnus!!! Wake up!!" Alec yelled, roughly shaking the tossing warlock by the shoulders. Magnus's cat eyes shot open as he threw himself upright, colliding heads with Alec as he did so. Alec fell backwards onto the floor with a groan, "Ow!" He yelled as he clutched at his forehead, shooting Magnus a glare. The glare hurriedly fell from Alec's face as he noticed the wild look of panic displayed clearly on Magnus's face. "Magnus? What is it?" Alec asked as he hurriedly scrambled to his feet, sitting down on the sofa beside Magnus. "Everything is going to change." Magnus muttered, staring unblinkingly past Alec, "Nothing will ever be the same."

A/N:
I'M BACK!!! Sorry, for the long wait for updates and I love you all for being so patient and standing by my side. But I've left you on a cliffhanger!! ;)
I can't make up for my absence (only by updating!) but I do have reasons for my absence such as:
• I recently started my first year at college in September and I'm still trying to get to grips with my coursework.
• I've had a few problems at home which involved hospitals (a few of which were my own!) but I'm fine at the moment. :)
• Thank the Angel that The Script exist and have helped me get back on track!
But know that I love you all and I will be keeping up with these updates and college as much as I possibly can.
