"Onii-chan! Onii-chan!"

A small child of eight with chestnut hair and pretty eyes runs through the forest towards a blurry figure. The child was smiling and even tripping once on a stump because of her growing enthusiasm.

The blurry figure became clearer - the image of a sixteen year old boy leaning against a river, his palm against the water, hair falling into his heart-shaped face and eyes shining in the sunlight; reflecting in the crystal clear waters.

He turns around when he hears the yell of his name and smiles happily to see his younger sister running towards him.

He stretches his arms out and catches his sibling in a warm embrace. She giggled within his arms.  "Onii-chan! Onii-chan! Guess what? Guess what!?" she yelled enthusiastically and the boy chuckled at his sister before looking at her and feigning ignorance.

"Yes, yes . . . What is it, Kyoko?" Kyoko smiled at her big brother. She took out something from her dress pocket and placed it in her brother's hand. Her brother merely stared. Amused.

Kyoko stared back, but for different reasons. She stared to admire her brother's figure. He was such a beautiful creature - much more beautiful than their mama. The way his hair was ruffled by the wind and how the sun highlighted every structure on his perfect face: the mouth, his nose and laughing eyes.

To Kyoko, her brother looked like a heavenly creature.

"What is this?" Kyoko's brother asked. Kyoko snapped out of her stupor then giggled some more when the amused face became a puzzled one. Her brother, despite being good looking, was just so dense sometimes.

"It's a charm bracelet, Tsuna-nii-chan!" Kyoko exclaimed as she buried her head deeper into her older brother's stomach, earning a surprised yelp from the action.

Tsuna sighed. "A charm bracelet? But that's just for girls." Tsuna said and smiled as his sister pouted and crossed her arms.

"Silly nii-chan!" Kyoko exclaimed. "It's suppose to keep you safe. And look!" Kyoko said, thrusting her left hand directly into Tsuna's face, shaking it to make a dangling sound with her bracelet. "See, onii-chan? This charm isn't really girly at all! I gave one to mama and papa too!" Kyoko flashed a toothless grin.

Tsuna shook his head and smiled a bit in disbelief. "Alright . . . Thank you, Kyoko." Kyoko beamed in happiness and hugged her brother very tightly. "You're welcome! . . . I love you, onii-chan!" She shouted and Tsuna smiled and hugged her back.

"I love you too, Kyoko."

"Iemitsu! Please don't leave us!"

"Shut up Nana! I'm done with you all, I'm seeing another woman and she's better than all you lots combined!"

"Iemi-"

"JUST SHUT UP, NANA!"

Yells and shouts could be heard downstairs and the children of the household were hiding upstairs. The younger shivering and tears brimming in her eyes and the older wrapping his arms around her protectively. His palms were covering her ears so she won't hear the yells and curses of their fighting parents.

They were in the corner of their shared bedroom.

"T-t-tsuna-n-nii . . ." Kyoko managed to say through her tears. She could hear the terrible sound of shouting and the distant frightened voice of her mother and the horrifying yells of her father, but they were all muffled by her onii-chan's hands. And his figure was blocking the way.

Tsuna put an index finger to his mouth. Smiling as he gently puts Kyoko's head on his lap and brush his fingers through her long and silky hair.

Kyoko was still shivering.

"It's alright, Kyoko. Mama and papa are just fighting over something small, they'll make up and be friends again, alright?" Tsuna lied through his teeth and he could see the effects working on his younger sister. Her breathing was slowly turning normal and she stopped shivering like she had hypothermia. Tsuna told her to even out her breathing and she did. Inhaling and exhaling while holding tightly onto her brother's pajamas.

"Alright . . ." She muttered and Tsuna smiled as he carried Kyoko to her bed. Shutting the door on his way - silencing the increasingly growing yells and hits downstairs.

Tsuna tucked Kyoko in and kissed her forehead, "Goodnight Kyoko . . . " Kyoko smiled.

"Goodnight, Onii-chan . . ." Tsuna kisses Kyoko's head one more time before going into bed with her. Adjusting their position before hushing his sister with a lullaby.

Kyoko's eyelids were drooping forward as she was slowly lulled to sleep. Tsuna smiled softly at this.

"Sweet dreams, Kyoko . . ."

Three years later

The sun was slowly rising in the horizon, birds were chirping their heartfelt songs and the occupants of a certain household were starting to stir awake. Well, one of them at least.

Tsuna, a brown haired boy with feminine features, groans as the morning rays of the sun shined through his window.

Getting up, he groggily stretches and sits there in his bed for a minute.  Yawning. Blinking his unusually big brown orbs through the blurry haze, he rubs his eyes and cracks his neck to get it back to it's proper position. Satisfied to hear it crack.

Still sitting, the brown haired teen looks around the room until his eyes landed on a lump on the other opposite bed. Smiling, he carefully stands up and headed towards that lump then looked down at the occupant. Chuckling at what he saw.

His adorable little sister was sleeping peacefully, or whatever it was that defined her position. Legs and arms spread wide on the bed and the mouth letting out a loud snore. Drooling, no less. Tsuna laughs more in amusement. Really, for someone as lady-like as Kyoko (despite being eleven), she was the loudest sleeper ever.

Tsuna watched as the figure on the bed squirm and turned to the side of the wall. Back facing Tsuna as she continues to sleep again. Tsuna was very amused to see his sister in her vulnerable state.

Noticing the rays of sun that was hitting his face, Tsuna now knows the cause for Kyoko's discomfort.

Smiling warmly, he goes to the window and pull the curtains together - causing the room to look dark again.

Nodding at himself in approval, he silently tip-toes his way to their shared bedroom door and very carefully closed it. Not wanting to disturb his little sister from her beauty rest.

Tsuna closes his eyes for a moment before mentally preparing himself to go downstairs.

When Tsuna was somewhere at the foot of the stairs, he heard the shrill voice of his mother laugh in fake flattery over someone on the phone. Not amused by his mother's changed antics, he slowly headed towards their old kitchen before he stopped midway as he heard the conversation that was echoing throughout the thin walls.

"Oh, yes of course I'm sending one of my children over . . ."

There was silence as Tsuna presses his ears against the wall.

"Yes, yes, yes . . ." his mother reassured, still filled with fake enthusiasm. " . . . The youngest one . . . she'll come, don't worry . . . It's today, right?"

What? Tsuna thought as his brown orbs widen and he stared at the door in growing shock and disbelief. But that was nothing compared to how he reacted to what his mother said next.

"Yes . . . I am sending her over . . . just make sure you fulfill your promise, sir . . .  Oh? . . .  Ah, yes . . . " Tsuna heard nothing but he could just feel his mother smiling even though he couldn't see it personally. Tsuna's gut twisted.

"She agreed to meet you personally and live under the servant's quarters . . .  And yes," Tsuna felt Nana grin, "my daughter is very, very beautiful."

Tsuna felt his breath hitch. "Kyoko!"
