When You First Meet

For Konan, you're a male.

***

<Itachi>

You were walking by the river bank of your home. You lived in the Land of Rivers. Not many people visited the area which was alright with you. No outsiders meant that you could enjoy more of the beautiful scenery before you. Your (e/c) eyes closed to hear the soothing sounds of the birds chirping, the soft breeze running past your (l/h) (h/c) hair.

"Such beauty yet so dangerous.." you mumbled to yourself. "I wonder if there will ever be a time where walking in such discrete places would finally be safe."

"I highly doubt that." a deep voice chimed in. "There will always be a time where trouble strikes."

You turn your head to the right and saw a man, no older than his early twenties. His pale complexion shining due to the angle of the sun. His dull onyx eyes avoided your (e/c) eyes and just looked into the cloudless sky. His low ponytail slightly blew in the breeze making his raven hair look magnificent.
Shaking your head to release you from your trance, you took a few steps back from the stranger.

"W-Who are you?" you stuttered.

The man looked over to your frightened figure allowing you to see his stress marks on his face. His onyx eyes bore into yours making you far more nervous than before.

"My name isn't important, but I have a feeling that we will meet again... (f/n) (l/n)." he said.

He then turned around and walked away. Your eyes wouldn't leave the direction that the man had walked off to. Your knees trembling in fear, wondering how this man ever knew your name.

<Kisame>

"Come on Kosuke!" you shouted to your little brother. "The ocean isn't going to bite you! Especially not where we are!"

Your little brother was slightly afraid of the sea because he felt as if a giant sea monster was going to grab him. But being the big sister you are, you wanted him to overcome his little fear.

"I-I don't know.." he stuttered.

"Don't worry, I'll be by your side at all times." you said softly.

"O-Okay, promise you won't leave my side?"

"I promise, now come here!"

Your little brother slowly made his way over to the shallow part of the ocean. He looked a bit nervous, so to ease up the moment, you splashed some water on him. He was quite taken back from the gesture, but soon returned the fire. You two were having such a great time together that you had failed to see that a massive wave was heading to shore. With one more splash to your brother's face, a shadow covered the sunlight making you slightly confused. You looked up and widened your eyes.

"Kosuke!" you shouted.

You tried to reach out for your little brother, but it was too late. The giant wave splashed on the two of you making the both of you swish around. Water was entering your lungs as you tried to stay above the water.

"Onee-chan!- ack!"

You heard the voice of your little brother drifting farther away from your location. Fear rising in your body quickly as the wave finally died down. You spit out any salt water that was left in your mouth and looked for any signs of your brother.

"Kosuke!" you called out. "Where are you?!"

Silence.

"Oh no..." you said before panicking. "Oh god, oh please, no! Kosuke!"

You swam around calling out for his name but still there was nothing. Cold and tired, you had no choice but to return to shore. You dragged your feet on the cool sand and fell to your knees. Your little brother was gone, and it was all your fault.

You let a few of your tears fall to the sand before a tap was given on your shoulder. You looked up to see a man dripping with water. He had light blue skin and dark blue hair. He oddly resembled a shark with his gills and beady little eyes. But what surprised you more than his features was that this man was holding your little brother.

"I saw you two getting wiped out by that wave earlier and your brother almost drowned due to the harsh wave. But I jumped in the water just in time to save him."

The man handed you your little brother as you held tightly onto his fragile body.

"He'll be alright, he just needs to rest."

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" you said over and over again.

"It was nothing, really." the man said sheepishly.

"Please, tell me your name. I want to always remember the man who saved my little brother!"

"Kisame.. Kisame Hoshigaki. Now, I should probably go, it was nice meeting you." he said with a smile.

You smiled back at the shark like man, watching him leave the scene. Kisame was someone you hoped to meet again to give him a proper thank you.

<Kakuzu>

You were lost in the woods and didn't know where anything was. You were delivering pastries to a neighboring village, but it took quite a few tries to find it. You weren't really that great with maps and it was your first time actually leaving your home village.

It was dark out and you didn't really feel safe. You were being very cautious with your surroundings, but everything made you jump in fear. The hooting of the owls, the strange growls of animals, and the constant twig snapping under your feet. You looked back at your map to try and see if you can find your way out, but you just looked at it frustrated.

"You're holding it wrong." a deep voice said behind you.

You instantly screamed and dropped the map and tried to punch whatever it was behind you. However, it was stopped when something held onto your wrist. You looked over to see what it was and it happened to be a hand.

You gulped and looked toward the person who held your wrist. Your breathing stopped slightly when your (e/c) eye met a menacing red sclera with green irises and no pupils. His face seemed to be angry as well, making you panic to yourself.

"Are you lost?" the scary man asked.

"W-What? Me? Lost? N-No! I know where I'm going!" you said rather quickly. "I-If you can release me, I'll be on my way!"

"But you were looking at a map.. you're obviously lost." he said.

"U-Uh, well-"

"Where is your village?" he asked.

"My village?" you repeated unsure.

"That's what I asked, now say it because I don't have time for this."

You looked away from his gaze a bit wonder if you should tell this man what village you were from. If you told him, you might be able to go home, but if you did, you could be killed in your sleep.. or worse! You could be kidnapped by this man as soon as your eyes were closed! But in this situation, this man looked like he was going to kill you if you didn't spill it out already. So out of fear, you decided to tell the man where you resided in.

The man nodded his head and said he was going to lead the way, but before he did so, he grabbed a dead body and flung it over his shoulder. Your entire body tensed up and passed out. This made the man grunt in irritation and flung you over his other shoulder and walked to your village to bring you home.

<Hidan>

"You can chase me all you want, but you won't catch me! You're both pathetic!" you snarled.

You were being chased down by two Akatsuki members. They kept pestering you in joining the organization, but you had no interest in ever joining something so stupid.

"Come here bitch!" the one with slicked silver hair shouted.

"Over my dead body!" you shouted back as you began to weave some hand signs.

You jumped a good distance away before turning around.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

Water began to spew out from your mouth as it began to take form of a dragon head. The dragon shot towards the two Akatsuki members and opened its mouth wide ready to devour them. Instinctively, the silver haired man decided to use his scythe to cut through water seeing it was a liquid, but when he made contact with it, the water was dragging him inside.

"Hidan, you idiot! Can't you think before you act!" the tanned man said.

The man named Hidan opened his mouth to speak, but he instead choked on the water that was now entering his body. The tanned man shook his head at his partner and threw several kunai's at you in hopes that you would lose concentration, but it didn't.

"This is what you get for trying to pick a fight with me!" you said.

"Hn, you're not bad, I'll give you that." the man before you said. "But you should look at your surroundings better."

"Huh?"

You look behind you but there was nothing there. You turned around to boast to him about it but you were met with a fist to the face. You lost concentration in your jutsu that it released Hidan from your grasp. Hidan coughed out the water in his lungs and groggily made his way towards you.

"You... you little asshole!" Hidan panted. "If we didn't need you.. I'd sacrifice your ass!"

"Tsk, coming from a man who couldn't even lay a hand on me. It seems that your partner is the only one with a brain!" you mocked.

"Why you-!"

"Stop it Hidan! We have what we want anyways." the man said before looking down at you. "Join us, or suffer. Your choice."

You grumbled to yourself before getting up to dust yourself off. "Fine, but keep that silver haired freak away from me."

"I'LL KILL YOU!"

Hidan pounced towards you, but you backhanded him making him twirl into the ground.

"I like you already.." the tanned man said. "Let's go Hidan."

"Mmfm..!"

<Pain/Nagato>

You were one of the best ninja in Amegakure. You were always loyal to your village and do whatever means to protect it. News about your heroic image spread throughout the village and it eventually reached to your village leader. You always heard stories about him, but you never got to actually meet this leader. You were slightly afraid to meet him face to face, but deep down, this was an amazing honor.

A man who guards the leader's building lead you through many hallways and stairs before reaching the door to what should be his office. Your heart began to beat faster in anxiousness as the man knocked on the door. After hearing a muffled 'come in' the man opened the door for you. You walked inside the office and the door closed behind you. There in front of you was a man with bright orange hair looking out a balcony where he watched the rain of Amegakure fall.

"So, you are (f/n) (l/n)?" he asked not sparing you a glance.

"Yes, that is me, sir." you said.

"So formal, that's good." he said. "I wish to ask you for your services."

"Of course, what is it you need me to do, sir?"

"I need you to work by my side." he said turning around.

Your eyes widened at his appearance. You didn't expect the leader of Ame was covered in piercings. In your eyes it was highly unprofessional, but it's not like you would call that out. His eyes were too menacing to speak up.

"If that is what you expect of me, then I will serve by your side until this heart beats no more." you said with a slight bow.

"I see I've chosen a good kunoichi. I expect great things out of you Ms. (l/n)."

"Yes sir!"

<Konan>

You were out on your own in your own secret place. You were sobbing to yourself because you had just witnessed both your teammate's death. You didn't know how it all happened... first, you were all having a good time together returning from a mission, and the next thing you knew, you were all ambushed. You had been the only one to survive that little mess. And because that you survived, you felt like their deaths were your fault. But even so, you were pretty banged up yourself.

"Why are you crying?" a soft voice said.

You quickly wiped away your tears before looking to your left. There was a beautiful woman standing before you. She had blue hair with a paper flower tucked into her hair, and not to mention she had these amazing amber eyes. Just the sight of this woman made you forget about your worries, even if it was just for a little bit.

"Hello?" she said, waving her hand in front of you.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry!" you said. "Did you ask me something?"

She chuckled. "I asked why you were crying."

"Oh.." you said, hanging your head down. "I recently got back from a mission and.. my teammates who were with me since I was genin died. And I can't help but feel like everything was my fault. If only I trained harder! Then they would be here with me.."

"It isn't your fault." she said softly as she brushed your (h/c) hair to the side. "I don't know what happened, but if you continue to blame yourself, then the guilt will only eat you alive."

"But how do I forget?" you said quietly.

"You don't.." she replied. "You don't have to forget them, you just have to learn to forgive yourself.. I doubt that your teammates want to see you mourn over their death so heavily."

"I suppose you're right.." you said. "Thank you, miss."

"Please, call me by my name, Konan." she said with a warm smile.

You chuckled lightly. "Thank you, Konan."

"(F/N)!" a voice called out.

"Looks like I'm needed... I hope to see you around someday." you said, getting up to leave.

You then left the scene, leaving Konan there smiling to herself.

"(F/n), huh?" she mumbled to herself. "I'll remember that name."

<Deidara>

Today was a festival and you weren't very enthusiastic about it. You didn't like the idea of crowded streets, nor the loud bickering of others. All you wanted to do was stay home and avoid it, but your friend just had to have you here, but she wasn't even with you at all! They had left you as soon as the both of you stepped foot into the festival.

When you had first noticed their disappearance, you immediately turned away to go home, but the crowd of people was unbearable. They pushed and shoved to get through until you were stranded in the middle of the street wondering where the hell you were. Frustrated with how things turned out, you spotted a little hill nearby and tried to get there to find your way out of the stupid place. But before you could even do so, someone had bumped into you, and it was pretty hard. You gripped your right shoulder and narrowed your eyes at the culprit.

"Watch where you're going!" you said.

"Wow, I was going to apologize, but never mind, un!" the blonde haired boy said.

"Tsk, like I need an apology from a boy like you!"

"I'm not a boy! I'm a man! Hm!"

"Whatever helps you sleep at night!" you mocked.

You then turned around to leave, but the man refused. He grabbed hold onto your wrist and dragged you through the crowd.

"OI!" you shouted. "Let me go! This is basically kidnapping!"

"Oh, shut up! Un! I'm just not finished arguing with you!"

"Well, we're arguing right now! There's no need to take me to an unknown place!"

The blonde haired man brought you onto that little hill you spotted earlier. He lets go of your wrist, but he doesn't continue the argument. Instead, he sits down looking at the grass angrily.

"Why had you even brought me here? This is a waste of my time!"

"Look, I'm only here because I want to see the fireworks, and my idiot partner left me here! So I'd rather watch it with a stranger than watch it by myself!" he said.

You growled at the man and reluctantly sat down a few inches away from him. You propped you elbow on your leg and leaned your face with your hand. You waited patiently for the fireworks to begin, and when it did, you have never seen such beauty.

The way they had planned it complimented each color with every explosion. The various colors made you feel like a child again. Those were the days where you used to actually enjoy attending festivals. While you were distracted by the flashing explosions of the fireworks, the blonde man side glanced at you and found a small smile forming on his lips. He then returned his gaze back onto the sky.

"Hey, thanks for joining me.." he said.

"Just be glad I didn't kill you." you mumbled.

He chuckled. "You're different... my name is Deidara."

You looked away from the sky and looked at the man beside you and smiled. "(f/n)."

<Sasori>

You were training near the hideout of the Akatsuki base. You were the new recruit and had met everyone except for two people. The others said that they would be back soon and you didn't want to give off a bad impression as soon as you met, but that only let you to get anxiety.

So you you did what always calmed your mind; training. You had been training for quite a while and decided that it was time for you to stop. You head back into the Akatsuki base where some of the members seemed to be doing their own thing. You walked into your room and decided to have a quick shower, while that was going down, a certain redhead returned to the base with his partner.

"Sasori." Kisame called out. "Leader wants both you and Deidara to meet the new member."

"I'll meet them in a second, un." Deidara said. "I need to go change, I don't want to meet them in tattered clothing."

"I'll go meet them, where are they?" Sasori asked.

"In their room, I believe." Kisame answered. "Two doors down from your room, but to the right."

Sasori nodded his head and began to head over to your room. He knocked a few times, but there wasn't an answer. So far he wasn't liking the new member. He turned the doorknob and surprisingly, it was opened. Sasori walked inside and that was when you had walked out with a towel wrapped around your body.

Your eyes met and you had immediately panicked telling him to get out. He muttered a soft 'sorry' to you and walked out. Despite him having his usual blank face, he was secretly embarrassed that this was the way he had met you.

<Zetsu>

You were out trying to look for a nearby village for help. You were escorting a young prince to his home, but there had been more shinobi's than you originally thought. You and your team managed to fend them off and protect the prince, but after that battle, you were all out of medical supplies. And seeing that you were the least injured, you decided to go ahead of the group and look for any village. But you were slowly losing that hope. The nearest village was Suna, but even then it would take at least two days to get there, but with the speed you were walking, it might take longer than just two days.

"This is going to take forever.." you said to yourself. "If I continue on foot like this, I'll surely pass out from the lack of sleep."

Your vision was becoming hazy and you no longer walked straight. You were swaying with every step you took. You collapsed onto your knees and breathed heavily. Your arm had been dripping with blood for the last thirty minutes of your travels. It wasn't bad, but even though it dripped slowly, you were still losing a lot of blood.

"Oh look.. food." two voices said.

Afraid of what you just heard, you decided to run, but that didn't go to well. You were still weak from the blood loss, so instead, you fell forward. You groaned to yourself and forced yourself to lay on your back instead. The person who stood before you was a person with two different colors. One half was white, while the other half was black. He also had something around him that resembled like a venus fly trap. Wasting no time, you instinctively grabbed a kunai from your pouch waiting for an attack from the man.

"You're going to try and fight us?" he asked. "In that type of condition? How interesting..."

"I admit, it won't be much of a fight, but at least I died trying." you said.

The man before you didn't do anything, all he did was stand there. This scared you pretty badly. For all you knew, he could be planning different ways to kill you. Maybe even torture you before meeting with death. The man crouched down and you tried to stab the man to get him away, but his white side stopped you from doing so. The other side grabbed your injured arm and inspected it.

"What are you doing?!" you shouted. "Unhand me!"

"Unless you truly want to die... you should let us help you." he said.

You weren't too sure about this, but you really need the help so you had no choice but to trust a man who thought of you as food. You watched him closely as he cleaned your wound and wrapped it tightly but not too tight.

"With your wound wrapped up, you can make it to Suna." he said.

"Thank you.." you muttered.

"Tsk, you better hope we don't find you again." he snarled. "He doesn't mean what he's trying to imply."

You looked between the two sides and you could already tell who was the nicer half.

"We'll be taking our leave now, I wish you the best of luck."

The man left under the ground, leaving you there wondering what the hell just happened.

<Tobi/Obito>

You had been a member of the Akatsuki for as long as you could remember. You didn't know much of your past... you didn't even know who your parents were and nor did you know what village or clan you came from. You didn't even try to understand your past you only served the criminal organization that you believed helped you in some type of way.

So there you sat in your room, reading a book quietly to yourself. You weren't much of a talker, but that didn't mean you didn't have a lot to say in things. A knock came to your door, making you set your book down onto bed. You opened the door to reveal Pain. You greeted him with a slight bow and looked back at him.

"We have a new member and he is to be your new partner." Pain said.

"Okay.." you said rather quietly.

You closed the door behind you and followed Pain into the main room where everyone was gathered. You stood in between Sasori and Kakuzu waiting to be shown the new member. Just then, a man stumbled into the main room and fell face first.

"Oof!" the man said.

'This can't be my new partner..' you thought to yourself not believing one second of this.

The man stood back up before doing a weird pose.

"Tobi's name is Tobi, and I can't wait to see all the adventures we'll have together!" he said unusually high.

Everyone stayed silent as it was as if a breeze blew on by making it even more awkward. You, however, narrowed your eyes at the man child and looked at your leader.

"You can't be serious." you said. "I won't have an idiot as a partner."

Deidara and Hidan burst out in laughter and pointed at you.

"I feel sorry for you, un!"

"Haha! Good luck asshole! You'll die within the next three days with him! If you're lucky, maybe a week!"

You gritted your teeth before using your wind nature to send a gust of wind towards them making them fly to the other side of the base at a fast pace.

"This is no joke (f/n) this is your partner, and you will work with him, end of story." Pain said before walking away.

Everyone seemed to also leave the room, leaving you somewhat alone with your new partner.

"(f/n)-chan! I hope we become the bestest of friends!" he said.

"Yeah.. I doubt it."

You walked passed your new partner, but to your distaste, he followed you everywhere. Could your life get any worse than this?
