Chapter 31: Warning
**Small Time Jump**
We were leaving for the training camp in just a few hours, and I hadn't slept at all yet. Honestly, it had been over a week since I last slept well at all.
Ever since Toshinori talked to me about my father, I had been a mess. I think Shota knew something was wrong, but I had been avoiding him too. There's no way I'm talking about all of this twice in one week.
To be fair, I left out a lot when Toshinori asked me about my past and my parents and Dabi. I only said enough to make the conversation go away.
I went downstairs to get a glass of water and stood over the sink for a moment.
I wonder if things will ever be normal again...
Suddenly, there was a light knock on my door.
What the hell? It's like 3 in the morning... I had to leave for UA at 5 and our bus left at 6.
I grabbed a knife just in case and held it behind my back as I opened the door.
My eyes widened as I looked at the man on my door step.
"What the fuck are you doing here, Keigo?" I said angrily while walking away, leaving the door open for him to follow.
"Sorry, I know it's late... or early." he said while closing the door behind him.
I held up the knife, "I was ready to kill you. You can't just show up in the middle of the night like that... Scared the shit out of me."
"Really? A quirk like yours, and you grabbed a small knife for protection?" he teased as I rolled my eyes.
I faced him with my arms crossed, "Glad to see you're not dead.... what's it been? almost a month?"
"Y/n, I'm so sorry," he said softly while taking a step towards me.
I held up my hand, motioning him to stop, "Don't come any closer, Keigo. Just tell me why you're here."
He looked down defeatedly, "I'm here on business."
"Business? So you didn't come here to talk about how you swooned over me for weeks and when we finally fuck you disappear? Where the hell have you even been?!"
I could see the pain on his face. Good, this asshole deserves it.
"I've been in Hosu," he mumbled.
"Really? Then where were you during the attack on Hosu?"
"Look, Y/n. I'm not here to talk about me. We need to talk about you."
"No, what you need to do is leave." I was beyond pissed now.
"I'm not leaving until we talk."
"Talk about what?!" I yelled.
"I've been looking into the League of Villains... I think they're coming after you."
Yea, no shit. I already knew that.
"And?" I asked.
"No, Y/n. You don't get it. I know," he trailed off. "I know about everything."
What does he mean everything? Toshinori thought he knew everything too and he was way off.
"What exactly do you think you know, Keigo?"
"Can we just sit?" he asked in a calm voice. I followed him reluctantly to the couch while he continued talking.
He sighed, "I know they tried to recruit you. Once when your parents were captured and again when you announced your departure from America."
Ok, so far so good. Nothing I didn't tell Toshinori.
"I know about you and Dabi. That you were, well... involved. I know why he visited you at the sports festival and that there might be a leak at UA."
He continued, "And I know that they're plotting something against you now. Maybe even with the help of your father."
I exhaled loudly. Shit, so he knows a lot more than anyone else. Great.
"Where are you getting this information?"
"It doesn't matter."
I eyed him suspiciously. No one knows about it this much except for me, Dabi, and Shigaraki.
"So what are you doing here tonight?" I asked.
"Well, I'm here to get your side of the story. And to warn you. I need to make sure you're safe."
"Oh is that right? You need me to be safe? If you really cared about my safety and well being you wouldn't have disappeared for the last month!"
I saw something in him snap.
"Don't act like it didn't work out for you!! I know you just crawled back to Aizawa the moment I was gone!"
I laughed, "Obviously, you know nothing. After Hosu, Shota and I confessed feelings, yes. But I'm not with him. I haven't slept with him. We're not together."
I continued to stare him down, "I cried over you for days, Keigo... I thought you would be different. Turns out, you might even be worse."
"C-confessed feelings?" he asked in a whisper.
I sighed, aggravated that he lowered his voice. I was more than ready for a fight.
"Yes. Shota said he loves me." I said while avoiding his eyes.
He nervously rubbed his neck, "Geez, and you're still not even dating the man?"
"No, Keigo. Because I still don't fully trust him. Just like I don't really trust you coming in here tonight with all of your conspiracy theories... Love isn't something you just say, it's something you show."
"Look, I get you don't trust me right now but this is serious, Y/n. Your parents, I think they've been working with the League of Villains for years now."
I tried to hide it, but that had definitely peaked my interest. Years? Toshinori didn't mention anything like that.
"Y/n, how can I get you to believe me?"
I paused for a moment, "Tell me what actually happened when you left."
He sighed, "I meant everything I said to you, Y/n. I promise. But when I left, I realized how much I wasn't actually ready to give you everything you deserve."
"I'm gone all the time. I work constantly. I make terrible mistakes," he trailed off. "I just couldn't face you, and I'm sorry for that. But when I found all this out, I had to come back. I had to tell you."
"I know how Aizawa feels, it's impossible not to fall in love with you. And that's scary as hell... I might not be ready for a relationship right now, but I still care. " he looked at me with regretful eyes.
Did he just say he loves me?
"Terrible mistakes... so you slept with someone else, right?"
He didn't say anything but the look on his face told me everything I needed to know.
I nodded my head slowly, "So what do you know about my parents?"
"Y/n, I'm so sorry," he whispered.
"I don't want to talk about it. You've been gone for so long. I've already accepted that this will never happen."
I wasn't lying. I had already grieved the end of our relationship. I knew it was over weeks ago. But it still hurt like hell...
He was a huge reason why I wasn't able to move forward with Shota, and now that I knew the truth, maybe I'd be able to. Maybe I could really let it go. The only question is if I want to.
I couldn't stop the tears from falling, "Please, just tell me what you know about my parents."
"I never meant to hurt you."
I kept my eyes on him, ignoring the fact that my face was now stained with tears, "Keigo. Tell me about my parents, or get out."
He sighed loudly, "The anti-hero and quirk group they were apart of, well, there's reason to believe it was led by the founders of the League of Villains."
I nodded my head trying to process the information, "So, when my parents became the leader of this group, you think they were in direct contact with the LoV?"
He nodded, "Yea. And when your mom was killed and your dad captured, we think the LoV started to go after you directly as a potential successor."
I chuckled, "They must be so disappointed."
"Y/n," he whispered. "Your parents seem to have told the league you have a darkness in you... A potential to truly become a villain leader."
"Not surprising. They thought I was a monster. I just thought it was because of my quirk. They hated everyone with quirks, and mine was especially powerful."
"That's not all..." he looked at me. "Now that it seems you're not going to join them so easily, they plan on attacking those closest to you in hopes it'll change your mind."
"And if that doesn't work," he continued. "Their plan is to kill you."
My eyes widened at his words and my heart shattered. Would they go after my students? Shota? Toshinori?
"Keigo. I have no idea how you know this, and at this point, I really don't care what your work includes. You have to tell me, are my students going to be safe?"
"I don't know... But you have to stay with them, Y/n. You have to protect them. And, you should probably tell UA. However, if you do, you can't say you got the information from me. Please."
Now, I was really suspicious of him... But I didn't have the luxury of asking questions. I just had to take full advantage of this inside information.
"You can count on me, Keigo... I really do care about you too. I promise to protect you however I can."
I sighed, "We're leaving to a training camp soon. The students should be safe there. I'll report everything to UA when we get back."
"That sounds perfect," he said while grabbing my hand. "I'm here for you, Y/n. I promise to keep you safe. You really can count on that."
I smiled and brought him into a hug, "Thank you, Keigo. I won't ask about your work, but it sounds like you're in some pretty deep stuff right now. Please take care of yourself."
"I'll always have so much love for you," he whispered.
"Me too," I smiled and pulled out of his grasp.
I walked him to the door.
"Keigo, one last thing. My father asked to see me... Should I go?"
He hesitated, "If you do, bring someone with."
I nodded, not really understanding but knowing I just had to trust him.
He grabbed the door knob and looked back, "Shota's a good guy. If things do work out with him, I'll be so happy for you. You deserve the world, Y/n."
I smiled, "Talk to you soon, yea?"
He nodded and shut the door behind him. The emptiness of my apartment made me shutter as all my worries came crashing in through the void.
I'll die before anyone hurts the people I love. They really picked the wrong person to fuck with...
Dabi, I think it's time I pay you visit.
