Wattpad: Hi everyone and welcome to wattpads Interview with the Author.
Hi Derek Bolton, congratulations on completing your book! 

   Derek: Thanks. It's actually a relief to have completed that book.

Wattpad: How does it feel?

Derek: Relieving.

Wattpad: What was the time duration you used in writing this book?

Derek: Oh it's been a long time. I actually had the idea and started to write it way back in high school but after I graduated, other stuff took my time. I tried hard to update as frequent as possible but sometimes it just wouldn't work out.

Wattpad: So do you remember the precise month and year in which you started writing it?

Derek: Yeah. I actually started writing it somewhere in May. At that time, I was close to graduation.

Wattpad: Wow. That means it took you eight months to complete this wonderful piece?

Derek: Exactly

Wattpad: Why is that?

Derek: Well, as I said initially, right after graduation from high school, other stuff took my mind off writing for sometime. I couldn't make time to update my book. And when I did, I'd feel reluctant. I really lost my commitment for a while. And once in a while, I'd make an announcement on wattpad, apologizing to my readers and followers for my behavior and then schedule a date to make an update. But when the time is due, it's just another big disappointment.

Wattpad: That could really turn your readers off!

Derek: Oh it did. I lost a great number of readers. It took me quite a lot to get about half of them back. But I also made some wonderful readers too. They have really been of great help to me.

Wattpad: Okay so let's look at your first time as a writer. What inspired you to write?

Derek: Well.......Honestly, I don't know where it all came from. I loved watching movies as a kid and I still do. But I never payed attention to whatever was being said. All I was interested in as a kid, was the action it included. The moves and others they performed in the block busters. That's what I was interested in. But as I grew, I begun to listen. And then one time, I watched a movie and after listening to every little thing said, I was amazed at how well someone could come up with a story like that. I was thrilled. So I decided to follow that path. And that is how I got tied up in it.

Wattpad: Interesting. So how many books have you written in total?

Derek: I've written quite a lot. But Aisha is the only one on wattpad. I have about five more drafts to go.

Wattpad: well you better hurry it up and get to writing them.
Um.......,Do you have a career interest in writing? Is writing something you wanna do as a career?

Derek: Most definitely yes. I enjoy writing. I enjoy creating characters and giving them life. I love choosing who gets to die and who gets to live. It makes me feel so omnipotent. It's almost like doing on a small scale, what God did during creation if you get what I mean{laughs}. I also create comic characters like marvel and Dc do. So I've put up a media known as Ricks Entertainment Media, where we make these Animations about the Characters we create. It's open to anyone who wants to join the team.
It's not a contract tho. You don't get paid. But I believe with teammates that are committed, we could become the next media to make comics and incredible movies like marvel and Dc.

Wattpad: Well That is one heck of a dream.

Derek: Yeah. Yeah it is.

Wattpad: okay so before I set you free, I got one last question for you.

Derek: okay.

Wattpad: Now that you are done with Aisha, what is your next target? Which one is next to be published?

Derek: Well I haven't really pinned out one to write but there is this one that keeps calling me, anytime I look a my drafts.

Wattpad: What is it?

Derek: Nightmare. It's this whole thing about zombies and stuff. Biohazards and all those things.

Wattpad: oh okay.

Derek: Yeah and there's also immortality. That one has to do with Gods and stuff. There's quite a lot and I can start with any so you just stay expecting.

Wattpad: Oh believe me. After what I read, I'm already expecting.

So any words to all readers and wattpaders out there, struggling to write?

Derek: I got just one short message for y'all. Don't ever give up. Even if you've messed up real bad, start over again. You will be surprised at what you will bring forth after a couple of times. Let perseverance lead.
