(3rd Person PoV)

"And best of all, we have access to pest control here," the landlord said.

Pearl has left the hospital after staying there for three days. She had nowhere else to go so it was suggested to her that she can rent an apartment to live in.

A lot of the adults though were worried though since they think that she's underage and needs to go to school.

School?! Since when?

Pearl wanted to argue but the adults didn't listen and looked for whoever can be her guardian.

The landlord that was showing her the apartment happened to volunteer to be her guardian and offered her to stay at the apartment.

Pearl and the landlord also had to fill some paperwork in order for her to rent the apartment and find a suitable school for her to go.

Back to the apartment in question, Pearl looked around and stared at everything.

"...looks nice," she noted.

"I'm sure that this place will be cozy enough for you and your dog. Here's the place where you'll get your uniform and textbooks," the landlord explained and handed her a piece of paper and money which Pearl pocketed it.

Another thing that Pearl figured out is that the kanji that she sees gets translated to English in her head and she can understand it.

She doesn't know how it works, maybe whoever send her here probably had something to do with it.

"I guess I'll settle here and then go shopping I suppose," she sighed.

"If you need anything, you can ask Mrs. Bonnie in the front office," the landlord explained and left.

Pearl didn't have many things so she just smoothen the mattress and lay on it.

Tilly jumped up beside her and curled up. Pearl brushed her fingers across her fur and let out a deep sigh.

Whatever this world was supposed to be...not sure what I think of it, she thought.

They both laid there for a couple of minutes before Tilly began to bark.

"What is it, girl?" She asked and sat up only to be face to face with a mysterious figure that was upside down.

She squeaked and fell off the bed while the figure tilted their head at her.

Tilly continued to bark at the figure who seemed to just ignore her and continued to look at Pearl.

Pearl got up and went to the corner but the figure seemed to follow her.

"S-stay back!" She yelled as the figure just looked at her.

Tilly ran up to Pearl and growled at the figure like she was protecting her master.

Pearl pushed herself back into the corner and continued stared at the figure.

They appeared to have pastel red clothes? They appear to also have cyan parts, small, red shields on their arms with red fangs, a red ribbon below their chest, and big red pastel heart on their head.

"S-stay back," Pearl repeated and the figure suddenly disappeared.

Tilly stopped barking and then looked at Pearl, confused.

Pearl then pinched herself and while she slightly winced in pain, she realized that it probably wasn't a dream or illusion.

What the heck? She thought.

She went over to the bed and just stared down at the mattress, trying to take it in.

What? That was her only question.

She then grabbed the paper that was in her pocket and stared at it.

Tilly jumped on the bed and stared at her, wondering what her master will say or do next.

"...let's go out," she said.

(Time skip)

"Looks like we first need to take your measurements to see which of the school uniforms will fit you best. I'm just going to ask you to take off your red riding hood like cloak," the shop owner explained.

Pearl gave her a nod and took off her cloak. She was still wearing her regular clothes from the game. Even the bandage that was wrapped around her arm was still there.

The shop owner grabbed the measuring tape and wrap it around some parts of her arm. She then measured Pearl's arms length and finally measured her total height.

"I think I have the perfect fit for you," she told her.

The shop owner left to go to the back and returned three minutes later with a rose colored school girl uniform.

She held it up to Pearl and yeah she was right. It was the perfect fit.

"I just need two more things from you. Your shoe size and what choice of ribbon do you want," the shop owner explained.

"I believe I'm a 6," Pearl told her and they went to look for shoes.

"Ah, last one in stock. Hmmm, I should order more. And you'll just need a ribbon and that'll be all for your school uniform," the shop owner explained whilst handing Pearl a box that held brown shoes.

"Uhhh sure," Pearl rose an eyebrow at this though.

She was then shown a box of multiple types of ribbons with different colors and patterns.

"So which one will it be?" The shop owner asked.

"Hmmm," Pearl merely hummed as she scanned through the arrays of color and patterns. It was a tough choice to pick.

Which one seemed right for her?

She then gaze upon a red and white ribbon. It was mostly white with a red cloud pattern though.

She must have been staring at it for a while because the shop owner spoke up and asked, "That one?"

"Hmmm? Yeah, how much will all of it cost?" Pearl asked.

"50,000 Yen," the shop owner said. ($430)

So the landlord just so happened to have 50,000 yen hanging around and gave it to Pearl earlier.

Guess being a landlord really does pay, Pearl thought as she handed the shop owner the money.

All of it was placed in a plastic bag and Pearl walked out of the store. Tilly was waiting outside.

She looked at the bag with curiosity.

"Looks like I'm really going to school. This was not what I expected to happen," Pearl sighed.

Tilly whined with agreement before growling at Pearl's side.

Pearl turned around to see the same figure from the apartment, staring at her.

"You again?" Pearl jumped in surprise. Some bystanders gave her a weird look and that's when she started to think about it some more.

"Can other people not see you?" She asked and the figure merely shrugged.

But Tilly can see it...them...I don't even know at this point, Pearl thought.

The figure got closer as Pearl took a step back.

"What are you?" Pearl asked but the figure had no response.

She didn't know what to do about the figure.
