CW: blood

(3rd Person PoV)

Pearl was staring at the now ruined arena and was holding onto the dying body of her soulmate, her now made friend.

So many pairs has entered this death game and only one pair could win out...well now one person.

Funny how Scott was dying and yet she didn't feel anything.

She heard a whimper and saw that Tilly was also staring at the area where it was once flowing with life.

Pearl reached out a hand and patted Tilly's head.

"It'll be alright, Tilly. The world is going to reset soon and we'll be back in that palace of mine soon enough," she assured her.

Tilly only whimpered at this. She could feel her master's hand trembling as she petted her head.

Pearl retracted her hand from Tilly's head and back onto her lap.

She took a deep breath as she waited for her eventual return to that palace in the sky. Where she lives out her days unless she goes down to Hermitcraft to do whatever she pleases...with no memory of what happened.

Pearl briefly remembers some events like she knows that she'll have gaps in her memory but...

It doesn't get easier than this, she thought as she closed her eyes and felt Tilly rest her head on her lap.

When she opened them, Pearl noticed that she was in a black void, Tilly was there but Scott was gone.

Now this was different!

Where am I? Pearl thought, wanting to say that out loud but couldn't.

Then she heard a voice.

"Hello there! Why so sad?" The voice asked.

"I'm not sad, who are you?" Pearl asked.

"The giver of second chances! You can go back to your boring and miserable loop life or you can go on this exciting yet bizarre adventure. Just a warning, there's no given whether you would die or not. In the world I mean. It's dangerous and you could die if you're not careful," the voice explained.

"Then why give me the chance?" Pearl asked.

"Do you even remember your past lives?" The voice asked.

"Past lives? What are you talking about?" Pearl asked.

"Oh so he hasn't told you yet. Granted he also got sent off to another world alongside his soulmate and two others but still didn't tell you before he got sent back," the voice said.

"Who's he?" Pearl asked.

"Oh don't worry about it now. So will you go back to your original life or go to this new one?" The voice asked.

"...could I have a test to see what type of world is it?" Pearl asked.

"Oh sure but one minute," the voice said and Pearl could hear some shuffling from somewhere.

Where's that voice even coming from? Pearl thought just before she saw something coming from the corner of her eyes.

What the-, just before she knew it, blood splattered on her hands and Pearl realized a little too late that an arrow was shot at her.

Tilly barked and growled at the direction where the arrow came from.

"You have 50 days to test out this world. Well at least 50 days give or take. Find the person named Jotaro Kujo to start your bizarre adventure," the voice explained.

Pearl fell backwards, sprawled out as she could feel herself bleeding out. Tilly kept barking and barking, occasionally poking her nose at her master's side to make sure that she wasn't dying.

"Maybe I should give Tilly one too...yeah I think I will," the voice murmured but Pearl was no longer listening as she closed her eyes as her breathing slowed down.

...

...

Beep...

Beep...

Beep...

Beep...

Slowly but surely, Pearl could feel herself waking up and the room that she was in was no longer just a black void but a bright white room with some green plants in the corner.

Pearl looked around the room and saw that she was attached to some IV's and a machine that looked like it was measuring her heartbeats.

Where was she?

"Oh, you're awake," a voice said and a woman with black, short hair appeared and she was wearing a nurse outfit.

For some reason, Pearl could understand the woman's language but she can't quite tell what it was.

"We didn't know what to think when we found you and your dog, bleeding out. Thankfully, we were able to patch the two of you up," the nurse explained.

Dog...oh no Tilly?! Pearl thought and sat up immediately.

"Whoa, whoa! You're still not recovered yet. Lay down a little longer before you make sudden moves," the nurse assured her but Pearl wasn't having it.

"Where's Tilly?" She demanded.

"Who's Tilly?" The nurse asked.

"My dog," Pearl said with venom in her voice.

"Oh right. She's in another room right now. It was a lot easier to patch her up but she also needs to rest up. Now if you need anything, please just press one of this buttons and one of the other nurses will come along," the nurse explained.

Pearl didn't seem too happy about it though and as the nurse left the room, she let out an angry sigh.

She could have said no to that deal. She didn't want to deal with this and what was that arrow all about?

But she's here now and she assumes this is the world that the voice was talking about.

Guess she'll have to figure out the ins and outs of this world but for now...

Pearl lay down and stared at the ceiling.

I'll stay here and rest up, she thought.

Then a singular thought crossed her mind before she drifted off to sleep.

Who is Jotaro Kujo?
