Chapter Sixteen

I am a person who is very particular about everything. I remember how I envisioned my wedding day when I was a kid. I want it to be as perfect as sunshine.

The wedding will be set in Tuscany, Italy because I want it to be in a vineyard, on top of a hill. My gown will be a designed by mother, because she's very chic and elegant. I do not want it to be too long because the wedding will be in a vineyard I want to enjoy the breeze as much as possible. The color motif is off-white and marsala red which will also be the color of my entourage. The flowers will be stargazers and lilies because they are my favorite. There will be an 8-piece string quartet and a wedding singer to make the ceremony more solemn and memorable. I already have a list of wedding songs that I want to be sung during the ceremony so they'll know what to do.

The menu will be a combination of French and Italian. I do not want my guests to stand up to get food so they can expect that it will be a seven-course sit-down dinner. With classical music playing in the background. Since I know that most of my relatives are very particular about food, I will make sure that everything is scrumptious and made only from natural ingredients.

The bridal car will be a white Maserati because I want to arrive in style and it is one of the best Italian cars out there. The wedding ceremony will start at five pm because I do not want my guests to feel uncomfortable if it will be too hot. I will make sure they will not regret wearing their best cocktail dresses to my wedding because they will be comfortable. Since the wedding will be in a vineyard, only the best wines will be available for the guests to consume and it will be an open bar.

The design of the invitation will be done by an excellent calligrapher so that it is handmade and guests can already feel the mood of the wedding upon receiving them. I do believe that a beautiful invitation sends a message to the guests that they are important enough to be part of this memorable experience in one's life.

I want my wedding to be perfect and memorable because it is a time when two people will unite and take on the world together while sharing the love they will keep for a lifetime.

But that would be impossible, for now. Aidan and I doesn't have that much to afford my kind of wedding, and even if we do have, I'd rather save it for the coming of our angel.

"Are you really sure about this, Paris?"

"Reid, kailangan bang paulit-ulit? You've been asking the same question over and over, nakakarindi na." That's Spring, I bit my lower lip to suppress my giggle when Reid didn't answer. "Paris asked for this, that means she surely wants it."

"Yeah and how about the groom?" Sarcasm laced his voice.

"Hey! Are you saying na napipilitan si Aidan?"

"Don't put words in my mouth, Amanda."

"Reid, just stop arguing about it. It's a done deal, we're already on our way and we're witnessing their marriage. So you, fucking shut your mouth. You're getting into my last nerve." Spring said with contempt, she then turned to me and smiled. "You look so beautiful today, Paris."

Napangiti naman ako rito, now I'm starting to like her. Not because she told I'm beautiful, but because she knows how to handle a lion.

She's the one who did my hair and light make up too, just to make me look like someone who's about to get married.

I don't want to explain myself to him.

I'm kind of curious about their business but then it's non of mine.

Judge Aguilar is waiting."

"Good morning, Judge." Spring greeted the old man.

"Mr. and Mrs. Santa de Leones, it's nice to see the both of you again." Nakangiting salubong nito saamin.

Agad na kumunot ako ng aking noo.

"Judge Aguilar, you didn't change a bit. "I bet you know her, she's Paris, Reid's sister."

Spring stepped back when the judge offered his hand to me. "Judge Aguilar, Miss Santa de Leones."

"Paris, po." I smiled and accepted it.

"And this is Aidan, my cousin."

Nakipagkamay rin ito kay Aidan bago bumaling kay Reid na ngayon ay nasa tabi na ni Spring, protectively having his arm on her waist.

"I didn't know that the Santa de Leoneses fancy secret weddings." Tumatawang sabi nito.

"Oh, this won't be a secret for life, we'll tell everyone about it, I just want it to be done immediately." I said. I know that he maybe referring to my parents' secret wedding decades ago.

Tumango-tango ito. The ceremony has begun, it was quick and more like a business deal than a wedding. But nonetheless, we're married.

I am now Mrs. Aidan Zeus Castañeda, whatever. I'm now his wife, period.

Spring congratulated us but Reid never said a word.

"Is there something in particular you wanna eat?" "You sure?"

Nilingon ko ito. "Wala nga, kulit mo."

"Galit ka parin..." he whispered.

I saw Spring putting a slice of butter on Reid's plate as if that's something she normally does. That's one thing about Reid only few people knew, he loves having butter in his rice every meal. Regardless on what he's eating.

And again, I guess Reid doesn't have much choice but to agree when Spring assured me that no one will know about it.

We then parted ways.

I don't know why I hate Aidan as of this moment, but I hate him. Hormonal mood swings maybe.

The hormones estrogen and progesterone are neurosteroids, stimulants that affect our brain and help regulate mood and memory.

"Where do you wanna go, Paris?"

"Now you're talking!"

I saw him sighed deeply and calmly answered.

With my knotted forehead, I turned to him.

"What are we doing here?"

"Ang init ng ulo mo eh." He shrugged and moved out of the car, matapos ay umikot ito sa bahagi ko upang pag-buksan ako ng pinto.

"Seriously, Aidan?" I squinted my eyes on him when I slipped off the car door.

"You're a doctor, baby. You should know that ice creams are good in the morning." "I've seen it somewhere in tv, is it true?"

"You're trying to pick up a conversation with me." I sneered. "Yes, Aidan Zeus. It is true. people who had eaten ice cream had faster reaction times and were better at processing information than a separate group that hadn't had any breakfast. I'm still mad at you, Aidan Zeus. But I'd like to have three scoops of vanilla flavored one."

"Stop smiling, nothing is funny."

He cleared his throat and called the waiter to give our order. When the waiter was gone, he turned to me again. "Why is ice cream healthy in the morning?"

"It causes an increase in alpha waves, associated with concentration, relaxation and mental coordination." I don't wanna talk to you anymore-"

"How about cold water? Does it have same effect with the ice cream?"

"A Japanese professor tried an experiment with cold water, to check if the ice cream's temperature was simply shocking the subjects awake. But while people who had drunk the cold water did show some level of increased mental performance and alertness, the effect was not as pronounced as with the ice cream." I groaned irritably. "Why am I even talking to you? I said I don't wanna talk to you-"

"What's the name of the Japanese professor?" Nakangisi parin nitong tanong.

"Professor Yoshihiko Koga, an expert in psychophysiology, a branch of psychology concerned with the interaction between the body and the mind." Naiiritang inirapan ko ito. "Ayoko na kasi, stop asking things! I won't talk to you-"

"If you were my science professor, I will never find the subject boring..." he said, smiling beautifuly. "I can't wait to take you home and call it a day, Mrs. Castañeda."

There's a subtle hint of promise in his voice. And the way addressed me is something... something so whatever. I still don't wanna talk to him.
