Heavy Trip to Suna
It had been two weeks, and the meeting with Volk was slowly approaching. Mizuki had received later another letter indicating the exact location of where they would hold their meeting. It was a remote building on the outskirts of Suna—a city which Konoha held a close diplomatic relationship with.
It was a building Mizuki had never in her life heard about. If they hadn't given her the exact coordinates, she would have never known where to look. Of course, Suna was also a village which she had never visited, even though it was barely an hour away by plane. Its desert dry climate didn't attract her attention.
She hated hot climates.
She gave Madara the coordinates of the building, and he had Zetsu investigate the surroundings of it. He wouldn't risk another attack from Volk.
Even though he tried to hide it, Mizuki could easily see how affected he was about being tricked. She was sitting in the living room of Akatsuki's newest hideout. Madara was also there, reading some news articles in his tablet. This time they were on another building at the other side of their previous hideout. It was closer to the one her father had asked her to research in the first place. Mizuki guessed they had a limited number of hideouts but would switch around every once in a while.
This one she liked better. It wasn't falling apart as much as the first one was. And it was way cleaner and neater. Most members were out running their own personal errands, hence the hideout was so calm and quiet.
They were supposed to leave soon to grab a plane to Suna. Sasori had already gone ahead and would wait for them over there to receive them at the airport.
Sasori was native to Suna, and because of his old job as certified puppet maker he knew the place like the back of his hand. He would often deliver his own creations himself, instead of hiring a messenger to do it for him. Why he quit was unknown to Mizuki. He seemed to love that job.
"Mizuki," Madara turned off the tablet and looked at her. "Are you ready?"
She looked at him and gave him a nod. Madara just stood up and headed towards the lowest part of the building. Mizuki followed him closely behind, holding a small suitcase. They went down a long set of stairs before arriving at a large wide space which seemed to be used previously as the building's parking lot.
Over the course of the last two weeks, Madara had bought for her several clothing outfits. People seemed to have believed Mizuki was indeed his girlfriend, since he would be asked about her everytime he went to pay at the cashier. Surprisingly, he played along with it. He even took her one time so she could choose some of her clothes. All female employees heavily fangirled when they walked into the store together. They even squirmed when Madara suddenly grabbed her by the waist and pulled her closer to his chest. When Mizuki looked up at him, she found him smirking down at her. That only made them squirm louder.
It still brought a deep blush to her cheeks every time she thought about it. Mizuki growled at herself. She was supposed to be charming him, not the other way around.
Obito appeared from around the corner, holding the keys to the car. He pressed a button and the car beeped in the darkness, lighting up. Madara walked towards it without a word. She only followed.
As soon as they reached the black and fancy automobile, Obito appeared out of nowhere again and took the suitcase from Mizuki before putting it away into the car's trunk. The car moved slightly when he let it fall inside with a huff. "You're only leaving for two days. What the hell did you put in here?" Obito asked roughly, shaking his hand around.
"My weights. Sorry if they were a trouble for you, sweetheart." Mizuki smirked at him.
Obito rolled his eyes and closed the trunk. Madara smiled slightly and grabbed Mizuki's hand in his before leaning down to mutter something at her ear. "Don't treat him like that, he's easily offended."
Mizuki smiled at his remark, but her mind was more concentrated on his hand in hers.
"What's in there anyways?" he raised an eyebrow, straightening back up. "That suitcase did look heavy."
"I was serious, those are my weights. They were in my backpack. I always bring them everywhere." She gave him a mocking look. Madara was taken aback.
"Do you even lift?" he asked, bringing his hand to pound at her biceps.
Mizuki grabbed his hand and pulled it away from her with a look full of indignation. "Of course, I lift." She stood tall, standing on her toes to get to his level. Madara was entertained by her boldness against him. A part of him liked it, and liked to mess with her just to get to see this part of her.
Mizuki was unusually well aware of the heat that radiated from him, and these last two weeks she had felt a strange pull towards him. She looked up at his face, and upon this close proximity she was able to focus on all the features to his face. Madara looked back at her but didn't pull away. He was entranced with her blue eyes just as much as she was entranced with his black ones.
The car honked. "Come on, this is a business trip, not your fucking honeymoon. Get in!" Obito almost yelled. Mizuki finally looked away from Madara, and stood down while laughing silently.
"We better hurry, I think he's pissed."
Madara opened the back door and smirked at her. "And whose fault is that?"

Sasori stood in the center of the Suna's airport runway in the middle of the night. He was wearing dark clothes, but held in his hand a pair of neon sticks so the pilot could easily see him in the darkness.
After a few minutes, he sighted Madara's plane among the clouds. Sasori lifted the neon sticks and started moving them back and forth, signalling the pilot he could land. The plane made a rough turn, and angled itself to start it's descent.
Once the plane had touched ground, it rolled down the runway until it came to a stop. Sasori ran towards the plane's door while another guard brought a set of stairs for the passengers to come down.
Madara was the first to come out, bringing with him a small briefcase. Then, Mizuki followed with a big suitcase. She smiled at the sight of Sasori and bowed him in a slight greeting. He returned the gesture with an emtionless face, but Mizuki understood that was who he was.
"We have an hour to get to the building before Volk gets there. I want to be there first." Madara gave Sasori a serious stare when the redhead walked in his direction. The young man nodded. "Take our cases to Suna's hideout, we'll be going by ourselves from here." He looked around. The only person there besides them was the guard that pushed the stairs around the runway. However, it was one of Sasori's old servants, so they wouldn't have to worry about him.
"Is Deidara here in Suna?" Madara asked suddenly.
"Yes, Itachi and Kisame are also here. They wanted to be available in case something happens. If you don't call for us at 3 a.m. were going to the building." Sasori gave him a serious glare. "We don't trust Volk, and Itachi seems to become uncomfortable around Gwen Kira. I don't know what history you have, but it seems important. It might be dangerous even for you, Madara."
Mizuki listened to what Sasori said and gave Madara a curious look. He noticed and shook his head. "You don't have to worry Sasori, just do your job." The tone to his voice might have sounded like a threat, but Sasori didn't flinch.
Madara turned around and waved at Mizuki to follow him. He guided her to a car hidden behind the building and got in. Mizuki went to the passenger seat after putting her suitcase on the backseat , and sighed once she made herself comfortable on the leather.
Madara looked at the back and frowned. "Why did you bring your heavy suitcase? I told Sasori to take care of it."
Mizuki shrugged in her seat, without looking at him. "I needed it."
Madara continued to narrow his eyes at her but sighed and turned back around. "It will be a forty-minute drive." Madara said, switching on the engine. "Hopefully we'll be there before Volk arrives. That would give me enough time to find somewhere to hide while I wait for you."
"I will be fine, Madara. If my mother really is there, I don't think she'll let something happen to me."
"Gwen Kira is a dangerous woman filled with mischief. Don't let that fool yourself." He offered her a hard look before changing the gear to reverse.
"She's still my mother." Mizuki returned his glare. "You said half an hour before your barged in. You have to trust me during that time, you promised."
Madara looked at her for a moment before looking back at the front. He pulled the car out of the building and rode to the main road. He took a deep breath and nodded. "I know I did."

"Tamakunya!" The director walked into Mr. T's lab, followed by Hanzou.
"Yes, sir?" T was working on a knew technology that would help him scan buildings to create virtual images without the need of a camera. It would make things simpler, and would give them the big picture in seconds.
"Today's the day," Aki said —sitting beside him, while looking at the monitors while he worked.
Mr. T smiled, "I know."
"Last time I spoke to Mizu, she said the meeting would be held in Suna." Hanzou said, leaning into one of Mr. T's bigger devices, and crossed his arms in front of him. Tamakunya, pushed his glasses over the bridge of his nose and smiled at the blond boy.
"That's correct. It was used by Suna's army as an underground gun room. Now, it's currently abandoned, but the weapons might still be there. Hidden somewhere." He turned back to the monitor, pushing back his long black hair out of his face.
"So, whatever you're working on right now will help us see what's inside that gun room?" Hanzou narrowed his green eyes at him. Mr. T only chuckled.
"You're quite smart, Yamada. Maybe you should consider transferring to Intelligence and work under my tutelage."
Hanzou snorted. "No thanks, weapons are my specialty. And by that I mean using them."
The director gave Mr. T a serious look. "Explain yourself Tamakunya, what would this prototype help us with?"
Mr. T looked at him for a moment before nodding. "You see. I've been in contact with Mizuki the last two weeks. Luckily for us, Madara hasn't been around the hideout as much and she had the chance to walk around — giving me enough clues to build myself a small blueprint." He switched the screen to the map he designed of Akatsuki's hideout. Aki was amazed at the countless rooms it had. "Building this took about a week and a half. So I thought, all this has to be possible to do in less time, with a better scanner. So I created one."
"I asked for the function, not the process of invention." Aki sighed in boredom.
"I'm getting there, Fall."
"Fall?" Hanzou huffed, trying to keep in the laughter.
"His name means fall in Japanese." Mr. T shrugged. "Anyways, this was an old algorithm I designed for an old project. I just changed a few things and voilá." He put a picture on the screen and smiled. "This big guy will scan the entire building and design a blueprint in seconds. Once finished, it will be sent to my computer using the signal in Mizuki's cell."
"So, if she doesn't have signal, it won't work." Hanzou frowned.
"Mizuki's aware of the current flaws, but we didn't have enough time to create the perfect model." Mr. T sighed. "I'll have it in mind for the next update. In the meantime, Mizuki will have to search a place with signal in order for the blueprint to be sent."
"And Mizuki's carrying that big guy?" Aki raised an eyebrow. "It looks quite heavy."
"Well, it's her job to get it to the building, mine was done as soon as I finished designing it." Tamakunya continued typing things into his keyboard.
Hanzou smiled. "Well if she managed to camouflage that while avoiding Madara's suspicion we can confirm she has earned their trust."
"And Akatsuki's infiltration will be a success." The director continued with a proud smile.
Hanzou chuckled. "Damn you, Mizu. You always steal the most exciting missions."
