Chapter 16

In a dark room, the lights were dim. The air smelled of fresh pine. A man in the shadows glanced at his gray tablet of the new headlines of the latest  of the drug bust of Zala drugs in downtown Washington. He sighed as he rubbed beads of sweat off his forehead as he looked up at a large painting on a wall of a silver coin with ravens circling around it. His eyes glanced up at the two agents that stood before him.

The man in the shadows pounded his fist on the table while crumpling up a white piece of paper."Where the hell is Deshed?"

"I don't know, sir. We haven't heard from him for a week. Should we send the search party?" One Agent asked.

"I got a better idea." The man in the shadows pressed a green button on a table. "Come in."

A door opened and a man wearing a black leather jacket walked in the room with a cold stare, chewing a wooden toothpick. "You called?"

"Time is a precious commodity that can't be wasted. I got a job for you." The man in the shadow passed him a yellow envelope on the table. "I need you to find Deshed for me."

"That won't be a problem.''The man moved up and took up the envelope as his eyes dotted back and forth. He opened the end of the envelope, examining the contents that contained a black and white photo of Agent X. "How do you want me to handle him?"

"That I leave up to you, Agent B. Bring me his body." $50,000 has already been wired to your account. The other half will be delivered to you once the job is done."

A smirk formed on Agent B's face. "It would be an honor to kill Agent X on behalf of the Raven agency. It has been a long time since I had a good hunt after all those years."

"I wouldn't underestimate him. He bested a couple of our field agents and left a wake of dead bodies within the agency."

Agent B chuckled. "Finally a worthy opponent. This should be good. I will wear his skin as a tribute when I'm done with him."

"Which is why you are not going after him alone. Take Agent Z with you." The man in the shadows folded his hands on the table.

Agent Z waved with a light smile from the corner. "Hi, partner."

Agent B spat the wooden toothpick on the floor."I work better alone."

"You will work with Agent Z or I will send someone to replace you."The man in the shadows leans forward exposing part of his scared face and white glass right eye.

Agent B squinted his eyes at the man in the shadows. His lips curled up as he pulled a green rubber band from his wrist."A nice retirement bonus. Just what I needed."Agent B gave the man in the shadows a long look and turned and walked out of the room, closing the door.

"Don't just stand there, go!" The man in the shadows gestures his hand.

"Yes, boss, I won't let you down." Agent Z left the room.

The man in shadow opened a black box and took out a Cuban cigar. He smelled it and got out his lighter and started to smoke it.

Agent Z left the room, catching up to Agent B.

"Hey, wait up!"

Agent B sighed, closing his eyes as he turned around. "I don't need you."

"Well, that's tough because you are stuck with me whether you like it or not." Agent B moved toward his car.

Agent Z approached the passenger side door, pulling at the handle. "You need me as a partner."

Agent B sighed with glaring eyes. "Let me make myself clear, I don't need you and I don't want to work with you." Agent B took off in his car abandoning Agent Z.

Agent Z lifted his head. He kicked the empty can. "You will need me." His right eye twitched.

Agent B spots a local rest stop 15 miles. He rolls down the window, feeling the whiping of cold air pressed against his face as the wind rustled leaves close to his car front windshield. Agent B took the nearest exit and pulled over to park his car in an area with a few cars.

Agent B got out of the car and locked it. He strode on pavement crunching down on the ground. He entered a white square tiled floor restroom and turned on the flickering light from the wall. Agent B walked over to relieve himself on the nearest white urinal with green gum at the base as he was whistling with his head arched up. He zippered up his pants and headed to the sink as he washed his hands with soap and cold water, looking up at a cracked mirror.

Agent B looked up at the mirror and saw two tall men entered the room and locked the door.

Agent B face curved to an evil smirk. "Let me guess? you two gentlemen want some private time. Hey, more power to you."

One man took out a six inch thick knife from his brown sheath and the other guy put on his golden brass knuckles.

"Oh, it's that kind of party." Which one of you ladies would like to go first?" Agent B taunted with his hand jester.

The man with the knife laughed when Agent B cut his hand. He stood back countered the knife and grabbed hold of his arm broke it in two places. As the man screamed. Agent B slammed his head hard against the wall twice and gripped the guys neck snapped it.

The guy with the Golden brass knuckles threw a punch at Agent B as he ducked from the man who dented the wall. Agent B kicked the air dryer at the man's face. Agent B charged at the man and kneed him in the stomach and punched him in the throat as he whizzed. Agent B got on top of him and started punching him several times in the face, throwing blood.

"You think you are trying to take my life." Agent B frowned as he kept on punching him harder in the face to the point of near death. "Your fatal flaw was coming here thinking you can beat me in a fight." He punched him again harder and harder as he bit his lower lip, feeling the blood splattered on his face.

A guy with a white shirt and blue jeans walked in a bathroom with his eyes bulged. Agent B turned and glared at the man with murder in his eyes.

"Hey, man you handle business." The guy walked out as the door closed behind him.

Agent B stepped on the guy's leg as the man screamed. "Now, why were you two following me?" He stepped on the man's leg again.

"Okay, okay some guy paid us to follow you."

"Who?" Agent B twisted his foot on the guy's leg. "Talk."

"Mr. White?"

"Where will I find Mr. White?" Agent B twisted his foot more. I can break more bones. If I were you, I would keep talking."

The man squinched up. "Saint Dagnus."

"Where would you find Saint Dagnus?"

"On route 23 head north and you find a big black building on your right."

"Now that wasn't so hard." Agent B knocked him out. He checked the guy's pocket, finding a match stick, a piece of white paper with a name and set of numbers. Agent B left the restroom as the cool breeze hit his face, heading back to his car until his cell phone rang.

"Is he dead?"

"I'm afraid not." Agent B got in his car and turned on the ignition.

"Who is this?"

"Someone who you will meet soon." Agent B hangs up his cell phone.

Agent B drove by a white house across the street. From his driver's side mirror, he saw someone open the trunk of the car, pulling a bald head man in a black suit hands tied with rope and gray duct tape covering his mouth as he dragged his body up the stone steps into a house. Agent B tapped his hand on the door.

"Agent X fancy meeting you here. Looks like fate delivered you to me.

"Now, my night just got interesting." Agent B said driving on the corner to park.

Agent B reached in his gloved department and got his silencer piece attachment for his gun. He put it on his gun as he turned his head to the window. Well, Agent X. It is time to meet your maker.

Agent X was inside the home with Deshed tied to a chair with rope. Agent X slapped him in the face.

"You are gonna tell me what I want to know," Agent X said.

"The Raven agency will crucify you." Agent X Punched Deshed in the jaw.

Agent X heard the doorbell ring. He picked up his gun as he creeped toward the door. The lights went out.
