Chapter 2
Trix leaned against some crates as the clones started to fire fiercely at the person who shot her. With her left arm, she grabbed her pistol from its holder and tried to shoot, but missed.
The shooter was on the roof of a building, not too close to the ground, but close enough for the attacker to shoot at some clones and injure them.
"Get a transport! Now!" Fox's command cut through the air--which was currently filled with blaster fire.
A shiny abruptly grabbed her and hoisted her up, dragging her while waving one of his arms around wildly to keep balance.
Wow, I must be pretty heavy if the clone was stumbling. Trix thought.
Suddenly another cloaked figure came out on the roof and shot the clone who was dragging her. The shiny let out a piercing scream before dropping Trix, who bumped her head against the concrete.
"Oahhhh." she moaned.
As she reached forward with her left hand, she brushed the side of her head and felt a liquid oozing out.
She instantly recognized it.
Blood.
Trix felt unease settle over her as she tried to focus on her surroundings. "Deep breath," someone said as the firing stopped, even though the ringing in her ears hadn't. The Agent could still hear the Clone's sharp scream in her ears, echoing, as her brain ceased to function.
Trix had always worked alone. Sometimes she would work with clones, but they were successful and no one died. Then again, that was the price of war.
"War," Trix Hayes mumbled under her breath. This was war.
"Hang in there, sir!" Thorn whispered as two hands grabbed Trix and one lifted her head. Or, at least, she thought it was Thorn. Honestly, her eyes were filled with tears of pain and haze.
She couldn't focus. Instead her eyes rolled back into her head, conveying the message that she would go into a coma very soon.
And one minute later, Agent Trix Hayes was unconscious on the back of a transport, heading to the medbay in Corousant.
