"Jimin's apartment is really big. More like a spoiled child's lair, really," Namjoon commented as they arranged their stuff. Namjoon, Jin, Tae and Jungkook would be sleeping in the living area while Z and Y would take the guest room. Jimin and Yoongi, of course, would be staying in Jimin's room.
Jin scoffed at the comment. "Well, if you ask me, Yoongi acts more like a spoiled child than Jimin. Except that instead of whining, he would threaten to kill if he won't get what he wants."
"Wow, what a supportive friend," Namjoon said with a chuckle. "Until when are we gonna stay here anyway?"
"Until Z and Y are able to fix the issue with AC. Probably a week or so."
Jin continued to do what he was doing, which was preparing their make-shift futon bed. The couches and the rest of the furniture were pushed to the sides to give enough space in the middle for the four of them. For some reason unknown, only Jin and Namjoon were arranging the whole setting and the two kids, namely Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook, were nowhere to be seen.
Jin huffed at this. Those two irresponsible brats. See if they would be allowed to have second helpings for dinner.
The older boy was so serious with moping about the fact that Taehyung and Jungkook were not helping that he had missed Namjoon's subtle glances and nervous sighs. He was still scowling at the sheets when Namjoon cleared his throat.
"So..."
Jin looked up with raised eyebrows, only frowning when he noticed Namjoon's awkward gaze. "What?"
"Nah, just wanted to ask if you are still living in Gwacheon?"
That's a normal question. Jin was wondering what was making this boy beside him a little flustered. "Well, I still have my house there but I'm currently in the process of looking for a place here in Seoul. Most of my missions are in the city so I always end up staying the night in a hotel after every mission. I'm keeping the house, though. It's the first thing I ever bought so it's close to my heart. You probably already know about that."
And he did. Namjoon knew about it because he was there when Jin bought it. He was even the one who picked the house. In some way, it was theirs.
Jin pursed his lips, just realizing that it had been a long time since he had stayed in that house for more than a week. He preferred staying in some place in Seoul or in his other apartments.
He blinked.
It seemed like he had been more affected by their break up than he originally thought.
"You're keeping it?" Namjoon asked, eyes going wide. "I thought you're planning to sell it?"
Well, that made Jin blink again. "I- Uh... I did think of selling it but... Wait. How the heck did you know that I wanted to sell it? As far as I know, I only told Suga and Hope."
The question made Namjoon's eyes wider as if caught in doing something he should not be doing. The older boy narrowed his eyes, feeling like he was missing something right here. He knew Namjoon for so long now that every single facial expression was easy enough to read. And his stupid wavering eyes and idiotic mouth formed into 'o' just meant that he was guilty of something.
With crossed arms, Jin tilted his head to the side. "How did you know about it, Joon?"
"I-It's nothing like that! I didn't do anything! I-.... Uh... I just.... guessed?"
Wow. Was that the best he could come up with?
Trying to ignore the fondness that's blooming in his chest, Jin pursed his lips. Seriously, the man was probably the smartest guy in the world and yet he couldn't lie for his life. Scratch that. He could, but not with Jin.
He concentrated as he tried to recall what happened when he had informed Hope and Suga about his thoughts on selling the house. It was a long time ago, probably a year already. That time, the three of them still had this silly group chat on their phones. It's encrypted of course, but not as secure as using their AC Watches. They preferred using it when they wanted to mess around or talk about stuff that didn't involve any mission since it's easier and more comfortable to use. Using the AC Watch just to ask what color of shirt he should wear for the day was just too...weird.
Not long after, the three of them were assigned to different missions that were highly classified and so they decided to delete the group chat for safety purposes. They didn't get the chance to create a new one, though.
Jin raised one scrutinizing eyebrow at this, a realization dawning unto him.
"Joon, did you...hack my phone?"
The quick shaking of head that Namjoon did was all that Jin needed. He smacked the boy in the chest hard as he glared. He couldn't believe it! All this time this boy had been monitoring his activities!
"What the heck, Joonie! That's...unacceptable. You're more of a creep than Z and Y."
"Yah!" Namjoon exclaimed, seeming to be very indignant at being compared to the two men. "It's nothing like that! I- I was just..."
"Was just what?"
"W-Well... I did not hack your phone, okay? I just happen to guess that you were planning to sell the house. That's it."
Jin continued to gaze at him with a raised eyebrow and the most skeptical look that ever existed. His intense gaze pinned Namjoon in place, making the boy look away awkwardly. He even swallowed heavily.
Agent P sighed.
Could his boyfriend be any more obvious?
"Seriously, Joonie, why did you hack my phone?" Jin asked again, his tone a bit calmer this time. His glare remained dangerous, though. The dick deserved it.
There was silence as the younger boy stilled, unmoving and hopefully not unbreathing. After what felt like hours, Namjoon finally looked up and met Jin's eyes. "Okay, so I did hack your phone and-"
"I KNEW IT!" Jin exclaimed, pointing a triumphant finger at Namjoon. "So you really hacked my phone!" he shouted with a voice that's full of accusation, making Namjoon leaned backward in shock.
"Yah yah yah yah!!! And here I thought you were calm. You're not supposed to judge me because I'm your boyfriend!" the boy tried to defend himself, but it was no use. Jin huffed with a glare as he seated his ass on the neatly-made futon bed.
Rolling his eyes in exasperation, he opened his mouth to speak. "I should've known you've been stalking me this whole time."
"I was not stalking you."
"You have read my conversation with Hobi and Yoongi! Who knows what else you did. I bet you accessed and saved my beautiful pictures. I bet you were looking at my nudes!"
"You had nudes there?" Namjoon asked all too enthusiastically.
"What? No, of course not!"
"But you said-"
"I was not serious, damn, Joonie. I can't believe how worse of a pervert you've become after all these years."
"Aish, why are we even talking about this?" Namjoon said with a huff of his own, sitting beside Jin and looking weary. He leaned his arms on his knees and sighed heavily. Glancing at Jin, he began to explain himself. "Okay fine, so I did hack your phone and yes, I can track where you were because of the bloody GPS in your phone that you never bothered to turn off."
Jin blinked dumbly. He's not really a techy person. That's Joonie's role in this relationship.
"You don't have to worry, though. I placed a protection on your device so that others can't take advantage of the stronger-than-your-gaydar signals from your GPS."
Oh.
"And I also admit that I did browse in your album, probably saved some of your photos, and may have also read some of your conversations. And yeah, I...uh...have all your mukbang videos saved in my laptop. It's wrong, I know. But... But I was just worried."
"You saved all my mukbang videos because you're worried?"
"That's not the point, Jin," Namjoon said in frustration. Jin felt the boy lean unto him as he struggled to say his next words. "I know what you're capable of and the kind of missions you're assigned to. Your crazy skills always brought you to very dangerous situations and I-... I just can't... Ever since we broke up, I can't help but worry knowing that you're in some place I don't know. I had to know your safe, Jin. I was not stalking you or following you wherever you are, if you're worried about that. It just makes me sleep at night knowing that you're chatting with someone, or that you're going to a supermarket to probably buy some groceries. Because that means you're alive. And that's all I wanted to know."
Namjoon was still looking away, his eyes refusing to meet Jin's even though all the older boy did was gaze at Namjoon with disbelief and shock. He...had no idea. At all.
"Now that we're back together, it's probably safe to confess that I..." the other boy breathed in, stilling himself at what he was about to say. Jin found himself unable to look away. "I never stopped loving you. I was too prideful to admit my mistakes, but the real reason why I let you leave is that I didn't want to hurt you anymore. I feel like I'm adding to your burden and until I am not be able to fix the mess which was my life, I don't want to try getting you involved with me again. But hey, here we are."
Tears threatened to break loose so Jin leaned forward and placed his head on Namjoon's shoulder, inhaling the musky scent of the only man that made his stomach flutter and his heart beat fast. He swallowed thickly as he remembered the moment when he decided to break up with him.
It was a terrible, but it needed to happen.
At least it brought them here. Right now.
"You don't have any idea how happy I am to have you in my arms again," Namjoon breathed out, enveloping Jin into a tight embrace as he pulled the boy closer.
"Y-You're an idiot," was the only coherent thing Jin as able to say as tears started flooding his eyes. "I hate you, damn it."
Namjoon chuckled. "No, you don't."
"Shut up!"
The two were silent for awhile as Jin continued to sob. He couldn't help himself. He needed to let this all out or he might choke. After a little while, the tears finally came to a stop, and Jin leaned back to wipe the excess tears away.
Namjoon snorted, which earned a glare from the older boy.
"I don't even know why I love you," Jin muttered bitterly.
Namjoon only answered with another chuckle and placed a light kiss on Jin's lips. The boy was about to protest but Namjoon was doing it again, the kiss as light as feather and didn't fail to make Jin feel nauseous. Namjoon did it again and again, giving light but sweet pecks on Jin's lips one after the other.
Jin sighed conntedly.
With one last peck, Namjoon poked Jin's nose fondly, his dimples showing as he smiled widely at the other boy. Jin had never been so in love.
"And just to keep the honesty going here," Namjoon said, looking seriously at Jin. "I did read your conversation with Hope and Suga. I must admit that I was a little jealous of Yoongi-hyung back then because you seemed to be very fond of him. In the chat, as I've observed."
Jin blinked at this.
He wanted to laugh, because well, that just explained everything.
=========
This was not supposed to take the whole chapter, lol. My feels swallowed me whole. I honestly enjoyed writing the Namjin subplot in this book. So dramatic kekeke.
AND I WANTED TO CONGRATULATE OUR BOYS FOR GETTING NOMINATED IN BBMA AGAIN!!! TIME TO VOTE, FELLAS.
Please be reminded that Jimin giggled and said in a very soft and fond voice "He's cute." while watching Yoongi struggle with his ATV vehicle and just ending up leaving it behind. The way he said He's cute is just so soft that I can't help but think that my ship is real. Kekeke. RUN EP 49.
AND FOR NAMJIN. Please be reminded that Jimin posted a fake DAUM post about Jin and Namjoon dating for about a year now. It's on April Fools but, oh well. Still an evidense that Yoonmin and Namjin ship each other badass.
