"Oh shit."
"Hyung, are you alright?" he could hear Jimin saying.
Nope, he definitely was not alright.
Could it be...?
Feeling his heart starting to beat faster, Yoongi took off the ring. His hands were shaking, damn it. He then swiftly removed his bracelet and set it up into the Magnifying Option using his AC Watch.
In his peripheral vision, he could see Jimin's gaping mouth as the younger stared at the bracelet laid on Yoongi's open palms. It trembled a little for a second, and then slowly transformed into a magnifying glass.
"Wow, can I have something like that, too? My dad is the founder of your organization!" Jimin protested.
Yoongi gave him a weak smirk, but he really didn't have the energy to tease Jimin since he himself was pretty much shaken right now. He did not have any plan to expect too much, though. But there really was a possibility.
Could this ring be the Data?
Well, he was about to find out now.
He held the ring up high with one hand, while the magnifying glass was held tightly by the other. This ring had been with him for as long as he could remember but he never really took time to examine it closely. He had always thought it was just a normal ring. A ring that held so many memories.
"Hyung, what are you doing?" Jimin asked curiously, gazing at the ring as well.
Yoongi did not answer. Instead, he placed the magnifying glass over the ring and looked closely. He turned the ring here and there for awhile, trying to look for something. Or just anything, really.
Well, it looked like a ring. Silver. Round. That's all.
Yoongi was about to give up when something caught his attention. There was a really small dot in the inside part of the ring, looking out of place amidst the shiny surface. Having the feeling that there was really something strange about it, Yoongi adjusted the settings of the magnifying glass and zoomed in 200x more. It was a bit hard since the surface was too zoomed in that it was hard to look where the dot was.
"Chim, can you hold the ring?" Yoongi asked, in which Jimin nodded eagerly.
As the younger boy held the ring, Yoongi zoomed out to the normal settings and searched for the dot. When he found it, he positioned the magnifying glass over it, taking care not to move his hand at all. Now focusing on the dot, Yoongi adjusted the settings once more and zoomed in.
His breathing hitched.
The dot was not a dot at all. It's a word, or more specifically, three letters.
PJM
Park Jimin.
Why would Z put a microscopic lettering of his son's name in the ring, so small that it still looked like a dot under a normal magnifying glass?
Alpha Centuari is the most important thing for Z, and you are the most important person for your father...
It's the data.
"What did you find?" Jimin's asked, probably sensing Yoongi's reaction.
The older boy carefully removed the ring from Jimin's hold and placed it back on his finger. He then swallowed hard and looked at him straight in the eye.
"I think I found the Data."

"The heck is happening?" Hoseok asked when his eyes landed on Yoongi's flushed face and Jimin's panting form.
The moment Yoongi realized that the ring he had been wearing for more than five years now might be the Data, he quickly called everyone through his AC Watch. He and Jimin rushed back to the van, arriving there before the others and surprising Hoseok.
"We found the Data," Yoongi announced without hesitation, not wasting time as he grabbed a towel and carefully laid it to the table in the van's makeshift kitchen. He gently placed the ring on top of the towel and pursed his lips.
"Seriously?!" Hoseok exclaimed. He ran to the pair's side and turned to the ring that Yoongi was staring at. "That's the Data? Wait...isn't that your ring? Or does it just look the same?"
"It's my ring," Yoongi answered simply.
Hoseok's jaw hung open, unable to believe the words he was hearing. "So you mean, all this time...?"
The older agent sighed, closing his eyes and massaging his temples in tiredness. He felt Jimin's comforting hand on his shoulder. "Yes, Hope. All this freaking time I have the damn Data. Ever since I was...what? 14? 15? I can't believe it."
Hoseok was already opening his mouth, about to say something when Jungkook and Jin arrived. The three boys inside the van turned to them. Jin had a frown in his face as he held Jungkook by arm protectively.
"What's happening here? Is there an emergency?"
"If by emergency, you mean Suga finding the Data, then yes, there is," Hoseok answered Jin.
Jin's eyes went as large as saucers. Jungkook too had his eyes widened in shock.
"The Data?! Where?" Jin asked, his pace faster than a cheetah as he approached the gathered group.
Hoseok pointed at the ring.
Jin's eyebrows could not raise any higher. "But isn't that Yoongi's ring? What's that supposed to do with the Data?"
"I-It's the Data," Jimin spoke, his voice a bit shaky as he announced this.
Okay, so Yoongi was wrong. Jin's eyebrows could actually raise higher. "Data?! How come? That's just a ring. How could it contain files or whatsoever?"
"I'm not so sure, yet. But it got Jimin's initials in it. The initials were very small that you would need to have a magnifying glass to see it. It's also placed at odd position so I think that's where the Data is," Yoongi said.
"B-but hyung!" Jimin exclaimed, his hand now gripping Yoongi's shoulders as he seemed to realize something. "Dad gave me a similar ring as well. What if it also has the Da-"
"I don't think it's your ring," Yoongi interrupted Jimin, his arm curling around the younger boy's waist. "I was thinking this whole time that I do not know Z, but it turned out that I already have spoken to him a lot of times before. Lol, I even experienced sulking when he promised to give me cake that one time but what he brought were doughnuts."
Jimin giggled at this, while the others all frowned in confusion. Yoongi looked at them with an apologetic smile. "I'll explain to you later guys. But for now, let's focus on this. The reason why I think your ring has nothing to do with the Data is because I don't think Z would leave something so dangerous to you. Giving it to me would be the best way to hide it. No one would know, and as time passes, it's either the ring would stay with me or it would go to somewhere that no one would know anymore, except for your father. That is, if he had a tracker for it, which I think he did."
Hoseok nodded eagerly at this. "I think your theory is correct. Even if it's a ring, the chip may just be inside it. We would need to dissolve the outside part of the ring."
"I can do that one," Jin volunteered. "I do have something that can dissolve the outer metallic part of the ring. I once needed to do something the same before in one of my missions. Well, that is if..."
"If?" Jimin asked.
"If you guys are willing to push through with it. I know how important that object is for Yoongi and for Jimin. I can't do it if the decision is not a hundred percent yet."
Yoongi observed as Jimin bit his lower lip, looking like he was contemplating the situation. Jin was right. The ring belonged to Jimin's deceased father and it would be understandably hard for the younger boy to watch it melt away.
"You guys don't really have to worry. I can shape it back to being a ring as long as we keep the metal material. The ring doesn't have any designs anyway so that's fairly easy," Hoseok spoke, earning a relieved smile from both Jin and Jimin.
"Great! Let me do this real quick. Give me three minutes."
They all watched with anxious eyes as Jin did the process of melting the metallic material of the ring. He did not really melt the whole ring, only the part where the initials of Jimin were engraved. In their awe, a very small chip started to emerge as more metal melted and rapidly hardened due to the unstable room temperature.
Jin separated the chip carefully and then Hoseok began his job of analyzing the chip. When Hoseok finally connected the chip to his computer, they all gasped in shock as the screen turned black. Moments later, a large letter Z appeared at the center. It was soon gone as a series of encrypted codes started appearing, seeming to no end.
"Shit..." Jin whispered, but they all still heard it.
"It's really the Data," Hoseok said.
The van was filled with silence and soft gasps as they all stood frozen in shock.
They were all still staring at the screen when Jungkook suddenly spoke up.
"Uh...guys?"
Yoongi looked up. Jungkook's voice was worried and he was not excited unlike the rest of them.
"Tae and Namjoon-hyung are still not here."
=========
We're ALMOST there guys. And just to let you know, the theories are so cute. Just to give you a clue, there may be one spy. And that spy could be with them, or not. Or maybe the spy already died? Or maybe... Author-nim is the spy.
Okay lol.
Please be reminded that Jimin just called Yoongi and himself as mom and dad. Married for life ❤❤❤
God bless everybody~
