The group trekked the long underground path that Jin had apparently created as an escape route. The entrance to the path was secured enough that they were confident their enemies wouldn't be able to follow them.
Jungkook hefted the heavy bag he was holding, his clasp on Taehyung's hand tightening as well. "Hyung, how far is this path exactly?"
"Quite far," Jin answered. He lead the group while Suga and Jimin were in the rear. Suga needed to make sure that they were all safe so he would need to guard the back part. And of course, Jimin would be right beside him, safe in his hold.
Being in the back part was not exactly the safest for Jimin, but Suga knew that he would only be content if he knew Jimin was near him. He knew that Jimin would always be safest if he was with him.
Speaking of safety, Suga turned to H who was monitoring his AC Watch.
"Where are they now?" Suga asked.
H looked up at him with a serious look. "They're slowly getting nearer and nearer the house. I don't think they have the idea that we've already left since they didn't really see us leave."
Suga nodded at this information as he twirled his .38 Special S&W revolver that he had not used for a long time now. He was always most comfortable with this gun. It was his favorite. It's the very first gun he had laid his hands on.
H had once offered to put a setting for long-range reach on this revolver just like what he did to Suga's other pistol, but Suga said no. He would rather keep his revolver as it was. Next to his plain-looking silver ring, this was one of the few important things that Suga dearly held on.
"We're almost there," P announced. The four agents had been more prepared now, knowing that the enemy could have prepared something more.
They now started to form a line in accordance to Suga's plan, in which the inseparable Taehyung and Jungkook needed to distribute themselves to their respective baby sitters. H stuck close to Jungkook, clearly traumatized by what happened the last time when their pursuers had managed to get their hands on the younger boy.
Now though, the three youngest in the group were armed with different weapons and devices so that they could also protect themselves just in case.
They were better prepared now.
What the didn't know was that the enemy was just as prepared.
They were now walking the upward slope leading to the opening of the underground path until they finally reached the top of the tunnel. They were now at the mouth of the underground tunnel and Suga could very well see the abandoned building where it was ending. All of them finally stepping foot into the cemented floor of the abandoned building, everybody looked around for any sign of possible enemies hiding.
Jin spoke in a low voice.
"Wait."
They all froze at the serious tone of P, and Suga just knew that there was something wrong.
He could sense danger when it's there, no matter how subtle it might be.
"Something's wrong..." A whispered, biting her lower lip as she looked around.
Positioning Jimin right in front of him so he could easily protect him from behind, Suga closed his eyes and listened carefully to the eerie silence.
Something's just not right.
Something...
Fuck.
"TO YOUR LEFT, P!" Suga shouted.
And then he was pushing Jimin downward and stepping in front of him to protect every single living cell of the boy. His left hand never left Jimin's wrist as his other hand fired shots after shots to the direction where the gunshots were coming from.
"What in the name of-" H cursed loudly as he pointed his laser gun at the same direction as well. A minute later, a large black van came into view, and Suga didn't need to look to know that the bullets being fired to them were coming from the van. The door of the van was half-open and several man had their guns pointed at them, shooting nonstop but were not hitting squarely.
Idiots.
Suga fired.
One of them fell from the van.
Suga fired again.
Another fell, his body getting dragged by the van that was circling them.
More minutes later, two more black vans came into view and there was the recognizable sound of a helicopter hovering over the damn building. One of the black vans that just arrived had men wearing all black shooting at them as well, but the other one was not and was merely circling them together with the other black vans.
Shit.
What the heck was this? Why were they getting ambushed all of a sudden? It was as if...someone tipped these guys where they were going. This was P's plan. And P had always been cautious.
How in the name of shit did this happen?
The stupid idiots who did not even know how to aim finally stopped in their assault, seeing as their three vans were now surrounding their group and effectively trapping them. There were a lot of men wearing all black that had their guns pointed at them. Too bad for them, almost half of them were now lying dead as they were easily attacked by P's flying daggers and H's laser gun.
Still, they were trapped. And Suga knew that several rifles were pointed at them from the helicopter hovering above. He did not need to turn around. Guns whispered to him.
Suga gathered Jimin into his arms, pulling the boy as close as possible. In his peripheral vision, he could see H turning his foot slightly to the right. He knew P saw it too.
They did not need to communicate verbally to know that what H was trying to say was that the van, their van was just hidden behind the wall on the far right. If only they could escape these psychos and safely enter the van, everything would go smoothly.
Meanwhile, one of the three black vans that had not been attacking them opened its door, revealing a smirking W and a bandaged T. Beside them, R was standing with a neutral face.
P froze, but not enough for anyone else to notice except for Suga.
"So we've met again," W drawled, his voice ugly as heck and so much of a loser compared to Suga's natural husky one. He wanted to vomit.
T narrowed his eyes dangerously at P and H, and he looked like he was about to attack, but W stopped him with a hand on his arm and an annoyed glance. Suga did understand why, he probably was embarrassed that he was defeated grandly by agents below his rank the last time. He wondered where that obnoxious U was, probably in a coma.
"If you're smart enough, you'll know that there is nowhere for any of you to run," W continued, the smirk still on his face, waiting to be punched by Suga. "I can make a deal with you. After all, we're all agents of Alpha Centauri here."
"How dare you use the name of AC?!" H all but spat. "You don't even deserve to be in the organization anymore! Wait till Y and X get to know about this."
W chuckled darkly, his eyes amused but in a sickly way. Suga wanted nothing more than to kick his crotch.
"Are you sure that they're not a part of this, too? H, what do you exactly know about our organization? Do you have any idea who is behind all of this? In the end, all of you are just a bunch of naïve little brats trying to get in our way. Ever since Z died, Alpha Centauri had changed. Why can't you just a accept that and be a part of us? You'd get your fair share, I promise."
Suga felt Jimin's hold on him tighten, probably because his father was mentioned. Suga could relate, he definitely felt his blood boiling by the words he was hearing. It was like W was pointing out that Y was a part of this, was an enemy. How dare he. Suga was now practically planning a very painful death for this stupid old man.
"As if we would want to be part of the dumbass club," P sniped in, rolling his eyes haughtily as if they were not trapped at all and absolutely in their enemy's mercy. Suga did not miss the corner of R's lips twitching into what would have been a smirk.
W narrowed his eyes dangerously and T looked like he was really about to choke Jin right now. Psh, as if he could. P was already in his weakest state that time when they managed to beat their ass.
W spoke again, this time with more warning in his voice. "We only want Park Jimin. Give him to us and we'll let you all live."
At hearing these words, Suga felt Jimin's hold on him tighten even more. The younger boy's face was neutral, his eyes hard as he dared to look at the stupid people who were trying to abduct him because of stupid reasons. Suga knew that Jimin was not as strong as he was trying to appear to be. Just by looking at the boy's hard expression, Suga already knew the things that were running in his mind.
He's pretty sure that Jimin was once again blaming himself for putting them all in danger.
They would be regretting this was the only thing in Suga's mind right now. He especially hated it when Jimin was blaming himself when this was not his fault at all. Suga just really, really, hated seeing Jimin like this.
These assholes better make sure they have already bid their goodbyes to their families, because after all this drama, Suga would hunt them down and make sure that life would not be easy for them.
"You heard it," T spoke up, his voice obnoxious and unpleasant to Suga's ears which were used to Jimin's honey tone. "We only want the boy. Give him to us and we'll all be good here."
"Planning world domination is far from good, idiot," Suga retorted, a smirk forming on his lips as he watched the annoyed expression of T.
The statement seemed to be the last straw for their enemy because the moment the words left Suga's mouth, W snapped his fingers in a way of giving signal to his pawns that were surrounding them. Said pawns hoisted their guns higher with a purplish light suddenly emanating from the tip of their firearms. Suga was all too familiar with this type of weapon. He, and all of the other agents in their group. He never used this piece of shit because it was only for the weak, what with the automatic target recognizer and all other automated shit that went with it. All you had to do was choose a target, and the gun would do the rest for you.
And apparently, they were the targets.
"For shit's sake! Why the heck are they using that?" was the indignant whisper of H that only them could hear. H also hated it just as much as Suga did.
Well, how much they might dislike it, the damn firearm was still a very dangerous one. It, after all, would not shoot bullets at you, but mini missiles that would follow you around even if you try to run from it.
Curse the target recognizer setting.
Jimin's hand was now clasping Suga's shirt tightly, his face troubled at the sudden turn of events. Suga pulled him closely, silently telling the younger that he would be safe as long as he's with him. That Suga would protect him no matter what.
Looking around, Suga knew that they were trapped. The situation was not at all in their favor and if they try to move even a bit, either they'd get chased off by mini missiles or they'd get shot from the sniper trained at them from the helicopter hovering above.
It's fucked up.
Suga was forcing his brain to find a way out. Any way out. It was not really easy, seeing as he needed to make sure Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook would come out alive and that no one of his co-agents would get severely wounded.
There had to be a way.
And then...
And then his eyes met R's.
That's when Suga realized that indeed, R was not an enemy.
========
It's late and I'm sick. Lol.
Please be reminded that YOONMIN IS SAILING IN THIS ERA. So to those who said Yoonmin is dead, well...it definitely resurrected. So, Suga was asked what was his favorite rice cake. Jimin shouted manggae tteok, referring to his cute mochi self. Suga then said, "I don't really like rice cakes, but manggae tteok is not bad," while checking Jimin out.
God bless!
