I'm sorry, Whaaaa?

Avery P.O.V.

I sat in front of my computer as I watched Texas kick the Reds asses from Earth to Chorus, laughing and eating a bag of popcorn. Tex was about to blow up the Reds in a tank, when I got a call from my good doctor, Leonard Church. I turned off the computer and answered the call.

"Sup Doc?" I asked, snickering from the joke I made.

"Haha Avery, very funny. I have a problem I need an outside hand to fix." Leonard said. "I am aware you have retired, but I am just asking for this one thing, after that you need to do nothing else for me."

"Your serious?" I asked. "What is it?"

The director sighed as I felt the sadness through the phone. "Many of the Freelancers have scattered to the stars after a traitor brought down my ship."

"I know. I also learned about the Alpha and what you did to it." I said. "I know why you did it, and I don't blame you for it, but I want you to know this, your project is falling. You were going to be betrayed, and it started with splitting the Alpha."

"I see. I was going to ask you to bring them back together and give them shelter." The director said. "But I guess that's off the table now."

"Nah, it's fine. Getting a little dull watching those idiots in that box canyon." I said, pulling up a news clip from a few days ago. "Besides, I think I found one already."

In town, later that night 3rd person

A figure in brown armor was trying to pick a lock on a convenience store. He was muttering to himself, and something seemed to respond.

"No Delta, I am not going to him. I'm a traitor, and you know his story!"

.

"I told you, no, and that's final."

.

"I don't care if it's the most strategical option, I don't want to go, he's most likely found out by now!"

.

"Shut up and help me with this lock."

The lock flashed green and the door swung open

York walked in, and started looking around. He picked up a bunch of jewelry and money out of the register.

"Alright, this should be enough for us to live off of for a while." York said "let's get out of here Delta."

York had just gotten out of the store, until he felt something pierce his under suit. "What the?!" He looked down to see needles poking through the suit. "Delta!" Was all he could say before he fell to the ground.

A small green figure popped up and looked at a approaching figure.

"Well, well, well." The figure said as it came put of the shadows. "Who knew you had it in you to turn to crime, York."

"Oh no." Delta said, as the figure crouched down.

"Oh yeah!"

Take 2

The figure reached down and picked up the ex-freelancer. Walking away, the items York had stolen put themselves back. The figure carried York into a nearby alley, where a sleek black car waited.

The figure placed York in the passenger seat, and strapped him in. Safety first readers. Yes the narrator broke the fourth wall, whatcha gonna do? Anyways, after strapping York in, the figure got in the car, buckled up, and shot out of the alley, onto the road, and then into outgoing traffic. Delta projected himself out of York's armor again, then addressed the figure.

"Who are you?" Alpha's logic asked.

"And here I thought you were logical. Tsk tsk tsk. Bad Delta." The figure said. "Give you a hint, 16k."

Delta flashed as he thought about the answer. "Avery?"

"Ding ding ding! Give the A.I. a prize!" Avery said as the car pulled the armor off. "And if your worried about York, don't be. He should wake up in, 3, 2, 1, annnndddd..."

York gasped as the tranquilizers wore off. "Oum my God!" He shouted as he looked around. "The fuck?"

"Good morning New York City!" Avery shouted before laughing. "How you doing York?" He asked before swerving around a truck.

"Avery!" York shouted. A faint "NORA" was heard in the distance. "What are you going to do to me?"

"Depends, how much do want to get back at Wyoming?" Avery asked as he looked in the rear view mirror to see flashing red and blue lights. "Because a freind of ours let it slip that he was going after a sim trooper, and I thought you would want to get back."

Avery sped up as the flashing lights faded in the back ground. "Push that green button right there York." York looked at the dashboard to see a few green buttons.

"Which one?" He asked.

"The big one."

"They're all the same size!"

"Are you looking at the dashboard?"

"YES!"

"Look up."

York looked up to see three big buttons on the roof. "Oh." He said as he pushed the green one. The car rumbled as it started to float. "Is this car flying!?" York asked.

"What car?" Avery asked as he pulled back on a joy stick. "We're in a plane!"

"How, I mean when, I mean what?!" York stuttered. "Delta explain!"

"Even I cannot comprehend the event that has transpired." Delta said as he flickered. "Avery please explain."

"I can't. This is one of the artifacts that Omicron had left over I took the liberty of keeping out of government hands."

"So it's alien?" York asked.

"Nope. Well, actually yes. It's hard to explain, but Omicron dealed with the supernatural, that's why our abilities are almost magic, if not for some of us needing electricity to properly function." Avery said.

"Really? Always wondered why you could do impossible shit." York said. "Wait, how did you get this shit anyway?"

"A story for another time my friend." Avery said. "Welcome to the newest Freelancer safe house, the Johnson farm." Avery flew the jet over the farm and landed it in the 'Old abandoned barn'. Avery pushed a blue button on the console, causing the roof of the barn to open up the roof, but instead of there being a floor, there was a hole that seemed to go to the center of the planet.

"Woah." York said as Avery lowered the plane straight into the hole. they went down for about a minute before they entered a giant cave. "Holy SHIT! Okay, you, California, and Wash have super powers, okay fine, weird supernatural plane, I can wrap my head around that. What I can't figure out, IS WHY YOU HAVE A BAT CAVE!"

"And my answer is, why not." Avery said as he set the plane down. "Also, I call this my Magno-cave, because 90% of the stuff in here is magnetic."

Timeskip, 1st person - Avery

I sighed as I sat down on the couch, beer in one hand, newspaper in the other. York had just settled down in the basement because we ran out of room up stairs and nobody sleeps on my couch. Right now I was looking for any possible leads on other freelancers. Right now, I had Wyoming who became a bounty hunter, Maine who became the Meta, North became a babysitter with Theta's help strangly, C.T. was digging up artifacts, but from what Tex said, the wound was fatal, so it might be headcase. Georgia was seen in deep space, not going out there, his live support most likely failed by now and he is just another floating corpse lost to the depths of space. Plus he was an asshole.

I put down the paper and looked above the fire place. on there was pictures of my family and project freelancer, but next to those in a small frame was a picture of a group of people, all wearing unusual armor, or none at all. I got up and walked over to the picture and looked at it, memories playing over and over again in my head.

"Nice job today Avery, keep it up and you might be in the first seat."

"Are you sure about this David? We could get thrown out the air lock."

"Come on, it won't be that bad."

"Cover me! I'm reloading!"

"Hey man, don't you think David's been acting weird lately?"

"Avery, I regret to inform you that your brother and sister have been killed by one of our own."

"Who?"

"David."

I was snapped out of my memories when someone laid their hand on me shoulder. I looked over to see my wife, holding Joseph in her arm. I smiled at her, before turning back to the photo. "Do you think they are waiting for us to find them?"

Skyla smiled as she looked at the photo. "Without a doubt. We always were stubborn when it came to death. Remember when everyone thought Mike was dead?"

"Yeah. Turns out Fletcher and Glenda taped him to the ceiling of the training room. Good times." I said as I picked up the photo. "You know, I think that Glenda had a crush on me. She always hung around me, it was quite annoying."

"Yeah, I always got so jealous I would beat her up in training for revenge." Skyla said. "It was quite satisfying."

"I'm sure it was." I said as I gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Now I have to go find North, I'll be back in a bit, maybe by dinner time."

"On your way back can you pick up some more diapers? We are almost out." Skyla said, before sniffing. "Speaking of diapers..."

"And that's my que to leave, be back later!" I said as I walked out the door, to the barn, then my magno-cave, in my multi-tool vehicle, and out into space.

SORRY! I didn't mean for the chapter to take so long, I've just been busy with things. Speaking of things, I have been asked for flashbacks of Omicron, so I am doing that. But here is the twist, if you have been paying attention, of all living members of Omicron, there are 6 unaccounted for. and that is for a few reasons, one I wanted to try something, and two it might be a bit fun. Who is up for some good ol' shameless promoting of their books? The first six people to send me a well developed, thought out, character, will be used as one of the six un accounted. Side note, if your characters name is Y/N, send me a name for them because it would get confusing after a while. If I don't get six that fit the criteria, I will have to pull some magic out of my ass because I ran out of ideas for characters, or used them in different books already.

criteria:

1: Must have a special ability or skill set

2: cannot be insanely OP, a little yes, but not godly powerful, they must be defeat able.

and that's about it, I think. so send me your characters, the deadline is next month, because that's about when I will get back to my regular schedule of one every week or so.
