AVERY NO!
"You have three seconds to explain what exactly you were doing, mister." Skyla said as she stalked up on me.
"I was giving the leftover crops to the sim troopers!" I explained. "Don't kill me!"
Rex, like the little shit he is, was laughing his ass off.
"You're in trouble too young mister."
"Shit."
"Karma."
"Shut up dad!"
"Shut up both of you!"
"Yes ma'am."
"We will continue this later, Rex, take us home."
"Yes mom."
Upon arriving at the farm house, Rex was sent to his room. I, however, was now being cornered by the most scary being in the universe.
A pissed off wife with access to any weapon to ever exist. Help.
"Now, why were you giving food to the sim troopers?"
"Because I didn't want the leftover food to go to waste?"
"Fine. But next time, don't be so secretive. And leave our old freelancer and Omicron stuff alone. We're retired, remember?"
"Alright, I love you, but old habits die hard." I said, giving her a hug. "But, I don't think this will last much longer."
"Why not?" She asked, pulling away. "What's wrong?"
"I have had no contact with freelancer since the wedding, none, as if they just vanished." I said. "The last transmission I got from freelancer was when the director asked me to keep an eye on those bases."
Skyla sighed, knowing I had a point. "Then let's make the most of our peace while we can."
Two months later
A pelican flew over blood gulch, gaining the attention of both Red and Blue teams. The pelican landed in the middle of the canyon, just as the Reds and Blues reached the center. Both sides pointed their guns at the other, thinking the other side brought reinforcements.
"Alright you no-good dirty blues, we aren't going to let you bring in reinforcements, Simmons, blow it up!"
"Yes Sir!" Simmons said.
"Wait, this isn't your reinforcements?" Flowers (Florida) asked, as he never asked for more troops, so he was on guard.
"No. We never ordered reinforcements." Sarge said, lowering his shotgun. "Simmons, standby, but be ready to fire."
"Yes sir."
"Wait." Church said as he stepped up. "If they aren't yours and not ours, then who?'
The rear door of the pelican opened, and a bunch of steam flowed out, and figures moved inside of it.
"Well, well, well." a voice inside said. "If it isn't my old friend Captain Flowers."
"Who are you?" Flowers asked, raising his rifle. "And how do you know me?"
The reds and blues all aimed their guns at the pelican, as a bunch of people walked out. Seventeen people in fact, but none were armored, which confused the Reds and Blues even more. Minus Flowers of course, as he recognized said 17 people, and started laughing.
"Avery! Cali! Kids! How have you been?" He said as he holstered his rifle. "Where have you been! It's been years since the wedding! Any kids of your own yet?"
"No." Avery said. "We have enough trouble with these 15."
"Dad!" Several of the kids said.
"I'm only making a joke!" Avery said. The woman next to him, holding a little girl and a little boy with each hand, giggled.
"You deserve that Avery." She said. "Any way, we are here to drop off some food."
"How do we know if it's not poisoned?" Sarge said, raising his shotgun.
"Stand down soldier. You too kids." Avery said.
The sim troopers and Flowers could have sworn that they saw a monster for a second. As they were distracted, the family has pulled out about four months of food out of the pelican, and split it into two piles. Reds and Blues stepped over to the family, and started to take it to their respective bases.
"Captain Flowers, a word?" Avery said as Tucker and Church moved the food. "It's about, you know what."
"Yeah. What's wrong?" Flowers said. "I thought you retired."
"I guess I owed the director a favor." Avery said. "But I haven't heard much for a while now, and I was wondering what happened."
Flowers sighed. "Nothing good I'm afraid. It started after you left. We started to get more and more A.I. fragments, the military started to shoot at us, then Tex, York, North Dakota, and Maine turned on us. Maine killed Carolina, he dropped her off a cliff after taking her fragments, just after Tex and York brought the ship down."
"And David?" Avery asked.
"He was not a part of the people that betrayed us."
"Hm. Where is Tex, Maine, North, and York now?"
"We don't know." Flowers said. "I am guessing your assigned to watch over us?"
"Yeah, but I don't know why. Care to share?"
"After the ship crashed, the director moved the Alpha A.I. for safety after it was fragmented."
"Damn it. I told him it was a bad idea." Avery said. "I am guessing that Church is the Alpha?" Flowers just nods. Avery sighs as he looks around. "Alright. But if anything happens, contact me ASAP."
"You got it." Flowers said. "You going to keep bringing food?"
"Yeah. Every 3 or 4 months. Depends honestly." Avery said. "Or we could make this a little more fun."
"Avery no."
"AVERY YES!"
With Red team
The Reds had just put away the last of the food, and threw out the MREs, despite Sarge's complaining.
"Did you see what I saw?" Simmons said to Grif, looking out into the distance. "It was like a monster was bearing down on me, ready to kill me at a moments notice."
"Yeah. Wonder what caused it." Grif said. "But that guy had 15 kids, is that even possible?"
"Yeah actually, if he adopted, but if you think back, he and that woman were married, and said that these 15 were enough trouble, and they didn't have kids." Simmons said.
"But I just have one question." Grif said. "Did you see that one girl, she had a moving tail, and ears."
"No way. I never saw that."
"Yeah, it was really fast, then they vanished."
"Bullshit."
"I'm being serious."
"Whatever."
"Hey Red Peoples!" A voice from below called out. "Dad wants all of you at the pelican." It was a teen that looked like he was pure muscle.
"And why should we listen to you?" Grif called down. "Your not Sarge!"
"Get going numb nuts." Sarge said, entering the warthog. "Better not keep that man waiting."
"Fine." Grif said, entering the drivers seat. "Are you afraid of him or something?"
"Grif, that man has been to hell and back." Sarge said. "You can see it in his eyes, his posture, the way he talks."
"Really?" Simmons said. "He just seemed like a tired man to me."
"For once I agree with Simmons, he just looked like a man with a shit ton of kids and a beautiful wife." Grif said, driving to the pelican.
"Don't let my dad hear you talk about mom like that." A voice said from the side of the warthog. The Reds looked to see the teen from before hanging onto the side of the warthog.
"How are you hanging on to the side?" Grif said, almost crashing.
"Simple, whenever we would head back to the house, there would never be enough room, so I would hang onto the sides." The teen said. "I'm Benjamin by the way."
"I'm Simmons. The fatass there is Grif, and this is Sarge."
"I knew that." Benjamin said. "I know all of you. Any ways, you best bring your A-game to this."
"Why?" Simmons said.
"My dad is playing one of his games again."
"And that's bad because?" Grif asked.
Benjamin sighed. "Because the last time he played on of his games, he fought an entire nightclub, drunk, and with his arms tied behind his back."
The Reds looked at him in shock. An entire nightclub, drunk, with no arms. Sounded like a fucking legend of a man.
"WHAT?"
"You heard me." Benjamin said. "I just hope he goes easy on you guys, oh and you might need to team up with the Blues if you want to stand a chance."
"Siding with a dirty Blue?" Shouted an angry old Sargent. "Son, you must be crazy, we will never side with those Blue Devils!"
"Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you."
When the Reds reached the pelican, a large mat was set up, and Avery was standing there, a smug look on his face, and the Blues standing nearby.
"Welcome back. Ben, go stand by your brothers and sisters." Avery said.
"Why did you want us?" Grif asked. "Because there is a lot of food that is begging to be eaten!"
"Just a simple game, with a better prize." Avery said. "All of you, against me."
"Are you sure you want that man?" Tucker asked. "Because there is a lot of us, and one of you."
"What? Scared of an old man?" Avery laughed. "Whichever team manages to pin me on the ground will receive a special gift on the next delivery."
"What kind of gift?" Church asked. "Some asprin for my killer headache?"
"Nope."
"Alcohol and cigarettes?"
"Definitely not."
"Some hot chicks?"
"Hell No."
"A new computer?"
"What are you? Ten?"
">A Spanish translator for these idiots?<"
(Lopez)
"Maybe. Sounds like you need it."
"Some kind of weapon that can kill the blues without a problem?"
"Nada."
The Reds and Blues stood there thinking of what it could be. The family, however, were hanging their heads, as they knew what it was.
"Alright, we give up, what is it?" Church asked.
"I hate to agree with a dirty Blue, but the same could be said for Red team." Sarge said.
"Twice the amount of food." Avery said, a shit eating grin on his face. The Reds and Blues just looked at Avery like he was mad. "What?"
"Really?" Florida asked. "6 to 8 months of food?"
"Yeah."
"Nope. Something else."
"Fine. What?"
Que another round of stupid requests.
"Hot chicks!"
"No."
"Alcohol and smokes!"
"No."
"A shipment of weapons!"
"Don't have any." Avery said. "You know what? Screw it, you beat me, you get bragging rights of defeating someone who can throw a tank with ease."
"Sounds good." The Reds and blues agreed.
"Great, let's get started." Avery said. "Que the epic music!"
Cliffhanger! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If you have any suggestions, go ahead and give them, I kind of need them.
